@Bill284 can we have a Bill learning moment ? Im gonna start puttin you on the spot in this journal lol
I'm always around any time you need anything.
What do I need to do diffrent if I go to coco
If you run Coco in bokashi , frass & DYNOMYCO you will need to increase your cured pot storage space.
Sorry can't help myself sometimes, hehe.
You can use just about any nutrient available.
Doesn't have to be Hydro or Coco specific.
The main difference is daily feeding.
So an economical nutrient line is helpful.
The easiest is granular.
Fill the pots with it and give water.
Top dress when necessary.
As long as the nutrients are available in the pot, plain water isn't good otherwise.
Here is the other thing PH.
Theoretically you need to religiously set it at 5.8, which is easy enough to do.
Prior to this summer i was concrete on that fact.
But I ran high 7's all summer without a single issue at all.
So I'm trying to prove my theory that microbes and fungi that feed my roots aren't as ph sensitive.
Just a theory so far.
So I still recommend 5.8 ph in coco, but I'm trying to disprove that.
is Hypro mix all I need to get? if not what do I need to add?
Sorry calmag first in your water is mandatory in coco.
Thats it, regular nutrients at 5.8 ph are fine.
What are some pros and cons
Pros
No nutrient issues.
No guessing what your plants need.
Feed full strength nutrients according to the schedule to start.
When you learn to read the plants you can feed them exactly what they need when they need it.
They will uptake the nutrients immediately and react as expected.
You have total control of your garden, your not waiting a week to see if what you fed has a positive effect.
There is no worrying did I put enough this or that in my soil.
Will it be enough to get her through? Naa, none of that shite.
Ooh I needed more fish guts or less bat crap that time, fek no.
Simply feed your girls what they need and reap the reward.
Also growing in soil is slow, face it.
You can see daily growth in coco.
Measure your garden in the morning then at night, you can log a daily difference.
Soil would be a weekly measurement.
Your veg time can be reduced by 1/3 or you can just grow bigger plants.
Ya got me hooked But shhhhh my ole lady cant find out lol
Also I have never gotten any pests or eggs in a bag of coco.
None of that stress or worry.
Feed your garden daily and enjoy.
There are tons of easy auto watering systems to make the task quicker if your concerned.
I ran 55 girls, harvest every 4 weeks all in coco. For years and years. All fed by hand.
I had a 700 litre storage capacity with a pump and garden hose and wand.
But i did every girl every day by hand.
I had a routine and it didn't take long when i needed to rush.
I tried soil and promix aswell.
Straight and Bill284 Method with both, in various pots.
Logged every plant, every harvest every thing, hehe.
For years, harvest every 4 weeks.
You can really accumulate some good data doing this.
Especially with my volume.
55 didn't include the clone and small veg room.
So there might have been 100 total at some points.
By far best quality and quantity was coco ala Bill284 Method.
Unfortunately all my notes were lost in the fire.
Heartbreaking the amount of trials and tribulations I went through to perfect this method.
But the research was sound and results were noticeably different.
Making some minor changes to the way your girls are potted can make a massive change in the final result.
Any aspect of my potting method will improve your grow.
Using every aspect of my method will massively improve your grow.
Cons.
Mm let's see.
Cramps from trimming so much pot.
Running out of room to store your pot.
I'm sure there's a few others , you get the point.
But seriously there's a possible increase in cost and time required to tend your garden, that's it.
Extra perlite too.
Same lights, nutrients, pots........... etc etc...
Just set ph and feed daily.
Once you try it you will dump your soil in the back yard.
And never want to look at it again.
I may be a touch biased so grain of salt in all.
Good Morning
