Panama x Malawi - Probiotic & Organic Indoor Soil Grow

The oyster shell is great for when you are initially mixing the soil. I would keep that for the future. I would use that Langbeinite in your next batch of soil as well.

That Seabird guano is good stuff, I certainly recommend you start using occasionally throughout flower. I can tell you that the ATF buds, the Durban Poison buds, and even the Blue Kush buds on this grow are much more dense on this grow so I am sold on the effectiveness in flower.

Yeah, I want to get the oyster shell down the line again, but I used it for credit to get the seabird guano and keep enough for soil testing around too. Hopefully I'll figure out what the soil mix I have needs by the end of the week.

You will get there brother. The good thing is once you get the stuff.....you can make a lot of soil with .

Yeah I can't believe how much of the neem meal I've used though. That stuff is pretty spendy too.

I've been thinking of when I should get a new batch cooking up. I probably need to have at least two batches cycling between cooking and being used for plants for it to really sustainable, or else I'm gonna have to have all that downtime while the soil cooks again.

Yeah I had a good amount in my first 60 gallon batch of soil. I kind of hoped that the chitin in the crab and shrimp meal would have provided me the pest resistance I was looking for.

Yeah, didn't seem like it has much of a systemic release of azadirachtin in that form. It seems like it's more useful as a slow-release of N.

I would probably agree with that, but I say that without really running any experiment to confirm it or disprove it. My plan in the future is to just be far more cautious in regards to staying away from my girls after being outside. I was admittedly sloppy about working in the garden outdoors and then when I would finish I would want to see how the girls were doing without showering or changing. I certainly learned my lesson. I intend to incorporate a far more rigorous pest prevention regiment.

Well my clones were not liking that mix so much, so I had to replant them into a more milder dilution of it. At first I mixed in 5 gallons of the hot mix and 5 gallons of my more mild mix, but knowing how much of the amendments I put into it, I knew that I could still dilute it by another 50% and would still be within recommended minimums. They were looking pretty nute burned in it, so I think now I know for sure that mix is too hot for clones/seedlings.

Meanwhile the flowering plants are coming along nicely for 4 weeks. I attempted to pollinate one of the Platinum Girl Scout Cookies x Cherry OG buds with some feminized Blackberry Kush pollen so we'll see if I get any seeds out of it, there wasn't much pollen so I'm crossing my fingers. I like how well the buds are developing for 4 weeks in, but I'm running low on meds again already so it looks like it's going to be another run where I'm dry by the time I harvest :(

Yeah I've been there before. I brought some bugs home from a buddy's house too getting clones. I'm pretty anti-clone for that reason. Every freakin' time they come home with some free bugs. I've been thinking about buying some Rosemary and Lavendar body wash so they think I smell bad and don't land on me lol

Thanks man. Yeah they were doing a little better up until about a week ago, I think they're hitting some potassium deficiencies, so I'm brewing up a tea for them. The soil mix I've had to cut down a few times because the original mixture was way too hot.

That bud in the back with the curled up leaves is STICKY as hell though. I've never worked with weed this sticky, I was trying to tie a little string around it to pull it up off the tent wall, and my fingers were getting stuck together like glue. I think this one has some more Malawi influence in it.

Leaves naturally start dying off as the plant uses the energy stored in them. Its common on cannabis. I don't have any fan leaves left on my ATFs (Day 67) and all the leaves left on my Blue Kush are fading real fast. I know it not pretty, but look at the positives.....less leaves to trim when it comes time for harvest.

It's weird I've never seen it myself though. I wonder if it's because I usually use synthetic nutrients versus the organic, or if maybe it's the strain, because the PGSC x Cherry OG cross in there isn't doing it ( though it seems to have its own problems ). Never grown sativas before, is it really common with them?

Today is only day 48 of like 85 or so too, so it just seems too early, but I figure all I can really do is just keep giving them some teas and see what happens.

Its happened on both of my grows so far....with certain strains more inclined to show it. The Blue Kush and Blueberry were the last to develop it (despite them having the shortest flower times) while the Durban and ATF showed it earlier. The ATFs had more yellowing than all of them ( but they had the highest yield). Not sure if there is a tie in between yield and yellowing but seems that way in my case.

Well I have heard that indicas supposedly benefit from heavy defoliating near the end of flower, and from what I'm seeing, they do it less naturally while it seems like sativas do it more naturally. Aren't the Blue Kush and Blueberry indica dominants?

Ugh I'm so pissed off. I had to change a bulb out, and if it wasn't bad enough I lost an hour of light, I didn't think before untaping my air-cooled hood to slide the glass back, and now there's little flakes of either duct tape or the paint off the hood littering my colas. Just all over it like little flakes of dandruff. I've tried washing it off with a sprayer with high pressure, and I tried leaning over them to pick it all off by hand but I almost fell down on top of my plants because my back is so screwed up. I don't know if I'm gonna even trust smoking this stuff now wondering if I missed flakes of whatever this crap is. I'm just so damn disappointed, I feel like this is gonna be primarily a salvage operation now.
