Yeah, and I think they grow quicker with me checking 'em every 10 minutes! :)

Thanks! I use a micro-microscope, 45X. Its from American Science & Surplus online for $3.00. The thing is only 1 3/8" long witha a diameter of 9/16". I actually put it front of the camera on my iPhone and zoom in just a little...works great! They also have USB micros for $64 bucks. Same place I got my exhaust fan... they call it "A Bigger Blower", $19.95 for a 250 CFM muffin fan. I'm running it off a PC power supply but it only draws 22.8W on 12VDC. It's small too, just over 6" diameter and 2" thick so it's great for small spaces. When I had it on my grow box it sucked the door shut!

You just have to make everything easy don't you :)

My short lens is more of a wide angle lens so macro shots are out of it's range. I have a larger telephoto lens that does macros from about 4 FT away but I have to stand outside my grow room to take the shots :rofl:

I'm going to pick up a 10X magnification filter for the short lens for the upcoming close ups. My buddy has a Opteka 10X macro filter that just screws on the end of his lens and it's awesome.

I've been playing around with my polarized lens filter today, taking test pics of objects under CFL lights and I think I can gain some needed clarity while eliminating glare. I'm going to try it out tonight!

Hey Dime, that is awesome, makes me want to get a quick pic before lights out to check mine, being we're so close in 12/12.

I take it that the Oganicide worked for you? I think I'm beginning to see a little bit of the dreaded PM on mine.

Hey there, thanks! Looks like we'll be finishing up with a lot of people arounds the same time :thumb:

I actually bought some Safer and used that instead. The Organocide smelt like week old jogger butt sushi. Fishy as a politicians intentions... Sorry, it does smell bad though;). Now that doesn't mean that it doesn't work but Im growing meds not running a fish hatchery. GiantsFan uses the Safer 1-2-3 and has good things to say about it. The SNS 244 is awesome but it's a lot more $$$. Take care of it as soon as you can and it should be fine.

Just make sure you check the label on what you get. The Safer and SNS say to use it right at lights off or at least out of direct intense light. With CFLs, they really don't get hot enough but I raise my lights to around 10" above the tops and have had zero problems.

You would never know you didn't have a DSLR just by the pics in your last photo update. :thumb::slide::thumb:

My camera is no crazy expensive Canon or Nikon, I have a upper-lower range Sony A300. It takes great pics but has it's limits. It's almost like you have to try a bit harder to get a great shot than with something like a D90 (not that doing so, is exactly an easy task :)).

For every 10 pictures I take, 70% of those get deleted. Sometimes I run off 300 or 400 pics in an afternoon looking for a better angle, lighting or experimenting, then getting rid of even more. I'm getting closer to needing a better camera but still have a LOT to learn before I can justify throwing down that much coin :trance:

Thanks, i was messin with the simple white balance settings for the last photo's i took . Guess you gotta experiment with the settings and everything else. So far i haven't mastered taking nice photo's with the lights out and the flash on.

Damn dude, 300~400 pictures, that's a ton! I usually end up taking around 20 and then i cut most of em, upload a few good ones, and keep the rest stored away on my computer.

Back at you to man, keep up your good work as well :thumb:

Ha,crazy! I think correct white balance is the key to better pics under flowering spectrums. I set my WB to 2700K and it's like it's under veg bulbs again!

What really sucks is to pull one or two good shots out of 300-400 :thedoubletake:

I took a bunch last night and kept 5... The fans were making it difficult, I'll try and get some good close ups tonight.

Any camera that has a white balance adjustment is basically doing the same thing...you just don't see the number :). If you don't have any editing software you can dowload a really good program called "Gimp" for free and be able to adjust those levels your camera won't. It's like free Photoshop!
