Oz's First Grow - Pyramid Tut In Coco

Gotcha

Hi all. I hope your gardens are all green and gorgeous today :)
My girls are looking well :) The auto's just keep on growing and GROWING......these plants amaze me and bring a HUGE smile to my face every time I see them :) The Tutts are looking great too. They're being let off the leash from tomorrow to grow vertical. Hopefully I'll end up with something resembling LAs gorgeous Gitt :) If I can get 4 or 5 of my girls to even half of his standard then I'm a HAPPY CHAPPY :) :)

Thank you my mate and mentor :) I must confess to sense of achievement having gotten this far without killing them off lol :) There's certainly 3 or 4 that I've got pretty high (now THERE'S a word lol) hopes for :) The others are all good too but due to my heavy handed ways they won't reach they're full potential :) Still, it's live n learn I guess :)

You might be surprised OZ...the plants that got a little damage have root systems to support a larger plant...I think they will do fine...all your plants are very healthy and growing fast...i know your gonna do well :thumb:

Cheers Jay....you're REALLY good for my confidence mate :) I've done very little apart from feed them all today...thought they'd appreciate the chance to recover a little from yesterdays "going over" lol. Here's a few pics. :)

Comments are welcome as always guys n girls :)

Those Tutts look amazing!...the autos are getting huge...Looks great:thumb:

The only thing I notice is maybe a little clawing on just two of the autos...not bad but maybe someone with some auto experience could chime in...don't get nervous my friend...no biggie but it might be something worth correcting now...my thoughts are maybe a nute lock out or ph issue...or it could be just normal...I have no auto experience...just looking out for you my friend

HOLY TRIFFIDS BATMAN:MoreNutes:

OZ. You are the magic man. They look fantastic. LA Diva looks like a Pole Dancer. Hehe. Appropriate name. Your return should be immense my friend. Reps.:peace:

Really appreciate the input mate :) PH shouldn't be an issue because I ph my nute res to 5.8 - 6 every time I mix it. Nute lock IS possible as I feed EVERY 2 days (2ltrs each) . Hopefully LA will have some answers to that one?

Mick.....thanks my mate, really appreciate the compliments and kind words. Yep, the "Diva" is VERY aptly named, GREAT freebie from Herbies lol. I hope the yields are as BIG as the girl itself :)

LA my good friend.....you're spot on thanks :) I'll try to keep ALL the sites at the same height. Hopefully I can sort that out this week so they have a good 3 weeks to settle and go vertical before flipping them :) What do you make of Jays comments/observations regards the Autos mate?

OZ, you are an artist, spectacular grooming & discipline! :goodjob:
Here is one of my CocoGirls, I'm using all Coco, I've read about growers coverring the coco with different mediums,

any thoughts on whether or not I should have anything atop the surface of the Coco-coir?
thank you :thanks:

(thermometer added just for you & Alex) :peace:

Thank you Trich my friend :) VERY nice little girl you have there :) Great start to your coco/fluxing career lol :)
Personally I have around 1.5" of pea gravel in the bottom of my pots. On top of that another 1.5" of clay pebbles then nothing but coco. The gravel and pebbles are only for drainage but DO help drawing more air to the roots too. I do have a few odd clay pebbles on top too. No reason other than they were in the bottom of the Tutts "baby pots" and ended up there after I transplanted lol. :)

Well done Trich :) They're tough little buggers aren't they lol.
Yes Mick at long, long, long last you got it lol :) BUGGER ALL every other day :)

Ok, i can see what jay is talking about.
autos are not the most stable strains to grow and pretty much every auto ive grown has suffered with nute probles, they cant take as much nutrients as regular mj plants.
so on the ones you see the leaves clawing down id back off the nutes a tad, its usually down to to much N in the feed which is the main problem i have had when growing autos.
also keep an eye on the temps, ruderalis usually grows in cooler climates so ive always found autos need to be slightly cooler to stop them having stretch issues in flower, i was often getting buds that was stretching upwards instead of filling out, this was all down to the temps being a tad on the high side, my regular plants was not suffering with temps or nute problems but all my autos was showing signs of heat stress but only in flower and nute problems mainly during late veg and early flower,.

heat stress usually looks like the edges of the leaves are cupping up, if you see cupping up at the edges of the leaves then this is the first sign of heat stress starting, its easy to sort out in veg but when your in flower it means you end up with skinny buds that dont fill out.

but to be totally honest your plants are doing ok, its just the odd one that has the clawing on it so just lower the N with that plant, i dont think its a lockout issue or ph issue im pretty sure the clawing your getting is just down to the auto having an issue with the nutrient dose, ive only grew one or 2 autos that have coped with the full stated dose, most take around 1/2 the stated dose and up to about 3/4 stated dose, any higher and i was getting clawing then nute burn if i didnt back off.

Cheer D.P....really appreciate that info mate. Temps aren't too bad to be honest (around 77-85f depending upon the wind lol) I can drop them a touch if required though :) Nutes are something I can deal with to. I'm going to introduce PK13/14 next week so I'll be mixing their feeds seperately from my Tutts from then on. I'll drop the strength to 3/4 Canna A+B, add PK and, if I can, add Canna Boost too :) They amaze me these weeds....I treat em bad but they love me back lol :)
