OZ, your mentioning boat, enticed me changed my avatar show you our boat & where it was 80 F today. I noticed some algea/greenshit on the top of my coco today, I guess what I read about "a layer" of substrate, on top of the coco, is necessary. So much to learn/share, that's why we/I am here.

OZ The evening droop is very normal...I'm not sure what the exact circumstances are with your plants but many times the leaves of perfectly healthy plants will droop in anticipation of "bed time"...when I first started growing it freaked me out if I checked on my plants before lights out...I thought something was wrong...then I found out they were relaxing before they went to sleep

They're for sale Trich my mate.......you interested in one lol :) I've got a Fletcher, a Hustler, a Broom and a Simms super V to choose from :)

Hi Jay mate. To be honest, I was worried at first but now after 3 days of it I'm just accepting that they're BIG girls and need their beauty sleep :) Again, being autos, I've got them under the same 18-6 as the Tutts so no change even though they're going into flower :)
Bed for me now guys.......chat tomorrow my mates :)

Of my body England is the spine
The backbone and the trunk
My shoulders span the mighty Tyne
London sprawls across my rump
Cornwall my crooked ancient leg
Wales two hands held apart
Scotland is my dreaming head
Ireland is my heart

OZ & all that have an opinion (alex, cana, Spimp, BAR, LA BB, Mick, Jay, Rico & the gang) This is to help us all, NOT to be-little my friend.

Why 18/6 instead of 24 hours for vegging?

I have never tried vegging with 18/6 because I have had great results vegging with no dark period. I have recently read that 18/6 benefits could possibly, outweigh the benefits of 24 hours of light when vegging.

I would love to get some feedback from you & the :circle-of-love: thoughts??

:thanks:

HEY Trichomes...my personal opinion is that 18/6 is better because I have tried vegging for a few grows with a 24/0 light schedule ...then I switched to 18/6 mainly to reduce my electricity usage and I found that the plants actually grew faster and looked healthier with an 18/6 schedule...granted some of the improved results could be attributed to the fact that I had a little more experience after doing more grows and was caring for the plants better but I do feel that a rest (dark) period is necessary for optimum growth and health...maybe give it a try for a full veg period and see what you think ...worst case scenario is you'll use less electricity :)

Hey trichome in my opinion too 18/6 or 20/4 or maybe the GLR are all better than 24/0
I echo the "rest thing" they seem to do the bulk if there growing when it's dark and 24/0 is so do far from the optimum conditions of summer sun that we try so hard to replicate. But I'm under no illusion 24/0 works well for some. I start seedlings on 24/0 for 1 week

Someone on 420mag. posted a comparison chart of studies done showing 20/0 was the worst performer, then 20/0, 18/6 and finally GLR being the best. That's what I'm using for the first time and the plants are thriving. I don't know the sample sizes in this study and therefore have no idea of the confidence level of the data. Anyone know where this posted?
