Outdoors IKLWA And Cherries Dubelee In MA

Bastidges!
I didn't see any white spots on those beautiful green leaves so they're probably aphids. Spray from below with a Hudson wand to try to keep the pistils dry, and don't forget to rinse!
I haven't shared the afflicted branches yet Shed. It's mainly low and not the whole plant on fire yet.
This one has the leaves curling and unhappy. Has lots of white dots and I can see life under on the leaf.
Another lower branch with the dotted leaves but not so curly yet.
I'll be sure to get under, over, and wash well an hour after. This is pretty cool that the whole plant isn't totally engulfed! I probably will give them a full plant treatment at least once or twice. Then consider just the hot spots. The Cherries D is due to go in 4 weeks so...once maybe? She has very little. I'll look closely before I decide to not treat. Probably once at least.

HOLY TOLEDO IT'S EARLY FOR ANOTHER MITE SPRAY BUT IT WENT ON TODAY UPDATE.

I just realized I'm a day early or two maybe, getting these two sprayed with Safers soap. I hit them this morning. They look like wet cats! One more time and I may be able to call it quits.

Safer 5118-6 Insect Killing Soap Concentrate

A Trusted Remedy Proven to Kill Harmful Insects

From Safer:

"Insecticidal soap (otherwise known as potassium salts of fatty acids) is made with natural plant extracts that dehydrate and kill certain insects on contact. Soft-bodied insects like aphids and mealybugs are most effected by insecticidal soap, which works by weakening their bodies’ waxy coating and penetrating their cellular membranes causing them to dehydrate and die. Just mix and spray at the first signs of insects, and apply regularly when insects are present to keep your plants pest-free."

I did it every 4 to 6 days for three applications I think last time and the mites were gone enough that the plants were happy. Last year they made a visit earlier and died earlier if memory serves. This came late it feels. Mr Shed turned me on to it last year for my flowering Candida's. Maybe it was this time of season. I had no negative taste smoking it! Spray it on, wait a short time, maybe half an hour, then spray it off good with water, the work has been done, I've killed millions of my worst enemy today and the plant loves me more! :)

Geezy Peazy, Stone!

How many gallons of Safer's did you need for these beasts? :Rasta:

Hey brother! I went through a gallon so far for both, two treatments. Woulda used more but the Cherries D isn't afflicted much so I'm hitting what is and a little more but not the whole plant like the first time around.

Good thing I'm not a kid still, I'd have my yard full of plants like these! Imagine 12 of them? What would I do with it all though? Other than buying investing in a solventless honey oil making system and moving it on the black market which I won't do, I can't imagine?

I think you're still a kid at heart Stone! :green_heart:

Hey Stone, I was just thinking that if I was a bug and saw a man of your height coming out with a spray bottle, I'd skedaddle to the top of the plant!:)

Seriously, are you getting on the ladder when you spray or what?

Sorry I'm being so prying, but those plants are HUGE!

He is right you cannot use a small ladder for them.

Not prying. My pump sprayer makes it up there if I give it a good pump! It seems like bugs start at the bottom too, these mites anyway. Somewhere around half way up the tiny dots all disappear. I hit the whole plants though on the first run. Second the ILKWA got 100 % and Cherries D got 50%. Next time less if the problem looks to be staying moot. You should stand up close! The bud dreaming is almost overwhelming! :green_heart:

Not yet though! I'm still on the ground for a while. Bud rot season is coming. We'll have a couple of steps then maybe. I wasn't going to pre treat with bt spray for bud rot but I did the other day and will again in a few days. That'll help!
