Outdoor Growing With BeezLuiz

In the last couple of days, I've begun to see a leaf issue on both plants, but especially on my Chem Dog.

It kinda looks like phosphorus deficiency, but I feel like it's getting plenty of phosphorus in the full line Prescription Blend nutes and Terpinator. If anything I would say there might be a toxicity of something. Maybe the pH is out, but I've never had any pH issues with FFOF soil. It's been hotter than Hades for the past week, so maybe it's due to the excessive and prolonged heat wave. To be on the safe side, I gave the plants a pretty thorough flush today with a feed follow up.

Fingers crossed that it doesn't get any worse. Any opinions/recommendations are welcomed.

Otherwise, the buds are looking pretty nice.

I thought the same thing when I first noticed, but I've been supplementing additional CalMag for the past couple weeks. The problem just started a couple days ago - almost happened over night. :hmmmm:

Do you suppose like under 64F they have a hard time with magnesium, they have a high temp cutoff too? :hmmmm: Nice work bringing them around from flowering. Store bought clones, ptoey!
Thanks for the visit Beez! I forgot to come over and see these beauties! Both cultivars of interest for the future!

Highya Beez'

A phosphorus deficiency would show red petioles. I have something wonky going on too' Looks something like Calcium deficiency, only with yellowing here and there randomly. Doesn't make any sense. I like the heat diagnosis. Maybe so, maybe not. If it doesn't get worse, you won't have to worry anyways! I know, not much help. You have me stumped on that one. Happy Smokin'

Hi beez, today is the 1st day in more than 2 weeks that it hasn't reached 100+. I'm guessing heat. Beautiful plants anyways!
Stay stoneder.

I'm guessing it's the heat. My lemon leaves did the same thing:
Yes, indeed. Those lemon leaves do look equally as unhappy as my cannabis leaves... and don't get me started on my tomatoes. 🤯

I agree: Ptoey! I only bought them because I was so late getting seeds started for this summer grow.
Thanks for the visit Beez!
Sorry I took so long to get your place. Been such a hectic summer that I fell hopelessly behind on so many journals. Slowly getting caught up now.

Very true, and the petioles on my leaves look pretty normal.
I like the heat diagnosis.
So do I. Now if only I could do something about it... I've already moved the plants to filtered shade for most of the days. Still got up to 106F (41C) here today. Supposed to get some relief by the weekend.

I don't know how you can live in such a hot environment. I whine like a baby when it gets over 90F here. 🥵

Hi Beez,
The intense sun, wind and caterpillars are why I made little greenhouses. Haha, greenhouses. They're made with shade cloth. I should call them coolhouses.
Stay stoneder.

The exact same thing happened to my plants when we had 106 up here in Northern California this past week I got those same brown spots on the leaves And I have picked them off a few days ago but now I have a bunch of yellowing on my leaves that I thought was Septoria but since it’s not circular perhaps it is just from the heat? I do also see it on some of my citrus trees!
How are they looking now have you gotten any of the yellow spots like I have?

Now that the heat spell has passed, I don't see any new signs of the heat burning. My lemon tree leaves are also pretty sad, but not getting any worse.

I get septoria on my plants every year - not always circular. I try to pluck off the infected leaves as soon as I notice them, but otherwise it doesn't seem to do any harm to my plants. Your first pic looks like septoria to me, but the other two pics are probably related to the heat.

Thank you!

I fertigated and gave my plants another BT spray today. They are definitely starting to get their stink on. I've removed most of the yellow and heat-damaged leaves from Chem Dog and am pretty happy with the way it looks right now.
The buds certainly have a long way to go still...

After spraying Sour Diesel, I decided it was time to move it into my garage and under my NextLight Core.
Right now, my location is getting 12.5 hrs of daylight plus almost an hour of twilight. I was thinking I would set my light schedule at 13 hrs on/11 hrs off, but decided to just go with 12.5 hrs on/11.5 off since I don't want to take any chances that it will "reveg" again.
Considering these plants have both experienced a premature flowering and then reveg before finally going into flower at the beginning of August, these plants will likely go into November before rippening fully. Time will tell.

To be honest, I'm just flying by the seat of my pants here. I'm still trying to learn how to grow under my artificial lights. They are pretty bright, and I don't know how far away they should be from the tops of my plant. Maybe I should just go 12/12. :hmmmm:

The girls look Sweet, Beez!

The GSC I just grew was 11" from the light @ 180 watts by the end, with no light damage.
My NextLight is not a Core, it's a 420h, but I think wattage is wattage....
Tbh, It seemed a little too close to me, but the plant said otherwise...
Do you have a lux meter? If you can keep the lux at, or a little under 60k, you shouldn't have a problem.

My Core is non-adjustable 185 watts. It's currently 14 inches above the tallest cola. I don't have a lux meter, but it is on my list of things to look for. This info is a great starting point for me - very much appreciated! :thanks:
