Outdoor Grow Number 3 - Lemon Bubble Haze

Re: Outdoor Grow Number 3 _ Lemon Bubble Haze

Congrats for the flowering plants and for the new strain. That seems a great strain to me, mix between 2 of better weeds.
Have you a schedule about your seeds?

Re: Outdoor Grow Number 3 _ Lemon Bubble Haze

Update time, sorry for the long time since the last update. The first update is from June 10th. Just did not have the time to upload and post an update. With that said, the plants as of the 10th are looking OK. I think the switch back to my old Tea recipes will help these ladies out in the end. At least I hope. You will see the improvement in the next update that was taken on the 18th.

The two Durban Poison are getting pretty big. DP1 is around 3 feet and the DP2 is about a food taller and still growing. The LB_Hazes are not going to be big to say the least. They started to flower about a weak after I put them outside. I still have not pulled the Mystery but I think I will pretty soon. She is just not performing and I think another plant will do much better in her place. I still have one LB_Haze in a pot and she is for surely root bound. I just have not had any time to replant her. So I think she is going to have to just ride it out...

Anyway like I said these are from the 10th and I took some more picture today so after this I will post the most recent pics as of the 18th.

Re: Outdoor Grow Number 3 _ Lemon Bubble Haze

Update for June 18

Sorry for the back to back updates, just trying to catch up and bring this journal up to date.

First I have switched back to my old feeding recipes, I think they are helping out but only time will tell.

Veg. Teas

Compost, 2 cups per 5 gallon
Mexican Bat Guano (10-2-0) 3 ounces per 5 gallon
Jamaican Bat Guano (1-10-0) 1 ounce per 5 gallon
Blood Meal (12-0-0) .5 ounces per 5 gallon
Worm Casting, 1 cup per 5 gallon
Vitamin C, 1000 milligram pill per 5 gallon (feeds bacteria)
Kelp Extract, 2 ounces per 5 gallon (feeds micronutrients)
Molasses, 2 ounces per 5 gallon (Sugars for the micronutrients)
Epson Salt, 1 ounce per 5 gallon when needed

Flower Teas

Compost, 2 cups per 5 gallon
Jamaican Bat Guano (1-10-0) 3 ounce per 5 gallon
Mexican Bat Guano (10-2-0) 1 ounce per 5 gallon
Bone Meal (3-15-0) 1 ounce per 5 gallon
Worm Casting, 1 cup per 5 gallon
Vitamin C, 1000 Milligram pill per 5 gallon (feeds bacteria)
Kelp Extract, 2 ounces per 5 gallon (feeds micronutrients)
Molasses, 2 ounces per 5 gallon (Sugars for the micronutrients)
Epson Salt, 1 ounce per 5 gallon when needed

All teas bubbled for at least 24 hours and no longer than 72 hours and used immediately.

I think these teas are getting the plants and the soil back on track. I think there is already great improvement from the last photo's a week ago.

Also the 1st Durban Poison has been chopped, dried and has been curing for around 5 days. Smell really nice. Not much of yield, got a few pretty nice buds, but mostly little popcorn buds which I will hand off to a friend who only vapes so I think they will work out well for him. Will post some pics of that a little later.

Anyway on to the pics of the plants. The Durban Poison's are doing pretty well. one is a little over 3 ft and the other about a foot taller. They are showing zero signs of flowering so I am going to assume they will be growing through the whole season. I would think maybe, late Sept. early Oct. just a guess so we will have to see. Sorry about the pics they are kind of hard to see, these ladies blend into there surroundings.

The LB_Hazes seem to be coming back with their new food. Packing on some nice buds, I would say they are in their 2nd week of flower, give or take a few days. All 4 plants are not going to be over 2 to 2.5 feet I would think. They went into flower as soon as they where put outside. Not that I mind. How much can one man smoke?

LB_Haze 02-1 and Mystery
This one is still in its pot, I just have not had the time to transplant it. It probably will stay in there until the end. The one next to it is the Mystery that is not looking too hot for sure. I am going to give it a week and if there is no improvement she will be pulled.

Re: Outdoor Grow Number 3 _ Lemon Bubble Haze

hi sonzor, great update even if a little rushed. I still like the looks of the Durban Poison. Should be some nice long colas on that big one.

I'm sure your LBH's will come around once they've spent some time in your soil with your regular teas. Compost and worm castings will reload the micro critters that are doing such good things for your plants. Maybe a little molasses will help boost them a bit, supposed to be good food for the soil.

edit: I see OMM mentioned molasses already, hard to get ahead of him, lol.

I'd let the mystery plant continue unless you need the room. As long as she's growing buds I wouldn't be too concerned about her looking a little shaggy.

Hope you get some time to rest and relax soon, a fella can only work so many hours a day before it'll burn you out. A little extra time in the garden is always a good thing. Take care and good luck getting the LBH back into shape.

Thanks, your comments are much appreciated. The mystery did get a week or two but she seems to only be getting worse.

As for work too much, burn out happened 10 years ago, but what are you going to do, got to pay the bills and keep the tummy's full.... Work hard so you can play hard.... play hard so you can keep sane....

Great stuff, bro. Looking forward to it!

Thanks Papa Green appreciated the comments and you stopping in.

Really loving all the great high resolution photos sonzor. I sure wish I could do some outdoor growing without arousing too much suspicion. Plants look great overall. :goodjob:

Re: Outdoor Grow Number 3 _ Lemon Bubble Haze

yea man. Great looking plants! I bet once they get back on track with your feeding regimin they'll green up a hell of alot. They do look very good though now. great closeups man!! WOOHOO!!

Re: Outdoor Grow Number 3 _ Lemon Bubble Haze

Hi sonzor, great updates. Your closeups are always interesting, lots of crystal showing up on the LBH. I think they're coming back well now that you've got your teas back in play. Should be a nice run of LBH.:thumb:

Thanks for the info on all your ingredients. Lots of good stuff in the mix. I still want to use teas in future grows once I get things stabilized so those recipes will be very handy.

I thought you'd get a decent yield from the Durban you chopped. It looked fairly substantial in the pre chop pics. I bet the potency is there even if the size isn't. I'll make that trade-off anytime.
The mystery plants is hangin in, sure looks like it's trying to get some buds to develope. The urge to propagate is powerful.

I understand the need to get the hours in when they're available. I put many a long day in before retiring.
Great stuff, I'm looking forward to watching many more of your grows.

Thanks Munik, I kind of ignore the neighbors a pretend I am doing just everyday gardening. I hope they don't know, I am sure they wonder why I am up on my hill with a camera or 5 gallon buckets but there is plenty of plants I take care of so hopefully they are none the wiser. Thanks for you comments and stopping in.

Lets hope so jasonlee, I week or so and we should see the improvement, crossing my fingers anyway. Tried way too many new things with this grow and I am paying for it for sure... Thanks for you comments and stopping in..

They are coming back just fine my friend :yummy:

I can't believe the size of some of the stems . Mother Nature makes em tough!:thumb:

Thanks OMM, I hope your are correct. As always you comments and stopping in are much appreciated...

As for the stems, they get a steady breeze and sometimes a pretty good wind from the time they are really young. Don't think they will have any trouble holding themselves up when they pack on the weight. Although I would welcome that issue....

Thanks Mmmmick, I tried way too many different things this time out. And I am paying for it. Kind of lost so I hope its not too late to go back to what I know and the plants get back on track.

As for the Durban Poison, I was a little surprised also. I think I stopped feeding her way, way to early so that probably was the issue. As for potency, we will have to see. This plant by far was the stickiest I have grown, Had to clean off the scissors every couple of minutes. Made for a pretty time consuming manicure, but think is will be well worth it. They have been curing for a week or so now and smell wonderful. Will give it a try in a week or so..

I took a close look at the mystery and she is growing some buds but not like the one before, I will give her another week and see how she progresses.

Thanks so much for stopping and your comments are always helpful and much appreciated...

I hear you on trying too many things. I've been making significant changes every grow up till now, but I hope to stick with the tent and watering system I'm using now. Maybe get things sorted out for next grow without anything new to deal with. I'm sure you'll get your girls straightened out in no time, I have faith in you.:thumb:

The DP sounds great. Sticky is a good thing when it's trim time, although the time factor might be tough when you're putting in long hours.

Mystery is playing a dangerous game. You're gonna have to explain to her how important it is to be productive if she wants to survive.

:goodluck:

reps if/when I can.

Re: Outdoor Grow Number 3 _ Lemon Bubble Haze

Sonzor, Congrats on the first DP and good for you helping out a friend with the popcorn buds. I like the looks of the mistery plant, if you don't want it....

The LBH is shoot it's load premature but hey It is what it is, a bunch of cool smoke man!

The teas you give for veg. and flower are what I need to try, just can't seem to get it from the shelf at these garden stores (bat and worm poop) it's bull poopy! I asked for pumice and they looked at me funny.

Well, I'll be checking in later brother, take care and good luck with all.

Thanks Mmmmick, yes trying new things is what makes this so much fun. Just kind of sucks when it does not work out so hot. But live and learn.

All my plants have been pretty stick, I was just amazed on this one. Leaves just stick to the scissors, made for a pretty time consuming task. Labor of love though. I am a little concerned about the two DP's I have going now. One is going on 5 ft and the other is not too far behind. A little scared how those are going to finish and how much trimming is going to done on those. We will see..

I went up and gave Mystery a good talking too and she actually looks a little better. She gets to hand around a little longer...

Thanks siscokid, Its not putting me out any giving the DP away, I have plenty. I still have jars and jars of buds that have been curing for 9 months or more. Really my biggest problem is I have too much.. I enjoy the growing but these plants produce more than I could ever consume. Wish I had more friends that needed meds. Would make my life a whole lot easier.

The LBH did start way too soon, but that seems to be a reacurring issue I am going to have to deal with. It really is not that big a deal. I think I can get three different harvest if things go well..

Thanks for stopping in and you comments are always appreciated.

Love Durban Poison. Great strain. Good looking garden man, you are doing good!

What up Odin, thanks for stopping in. I have not tried it yet, but have heard nothing but good things and it smells wonderful. And what I have gone through just to get a couple DP plants going I would thing will make it even better. Another month of curing and I will get to give it a try. Thanks for the comments.

Your plants are looking great sonzor, best of luck to ya my friend.

 and watching your ladies grow..

Hello Light-1-up. They a looking a little better. I hope they keep on improving. Thanks so much for stopping in and your comments..

Re: Outdoor Grow Number 3 _ Lemon Bubble Haze

Hello Sonzor just read your journal. A little bit af all kinds of grows, indoor start, some in pots outside and some in the ground. Hope they all recover fully from those 'recommended' nutes. I'm sure they will. Have fun with that DP when she's cured enough for ya!

I'm afraid to put my grow in the ground. We've got thick brush and woods right up to the yard bringing every insect known to man within easy reach. Up on the deck is a little safer, well a lot safer I guess! They got to fly up here to get to the plants leaving the crawling critters wishing they could!

Hello woodsman, I meant to have them all in the ground and none in post except for the younger plants, it just did not work out that way.
I hear you on the insects, its a problem I wish I did not have and am still trying to figure out a good organic solution..

Thanks so much for stopping in and you comments...

Re: Outdoor Grow Number 3 _ Lemon Bubble Haze

What's up boys and girls,

These pics are from Friday the 25th, so a few days old. The plants seem to be doing pretty well, I found some grasshoppers on a couple of the plants. I really was not too worried cause they seemed to not be doing too much damage. The one thing I was a little worried about was how much behind LBH 1,3 and 4 where compared to LBH2.

Today I figured it out. I have Stoner Grasshoppers they don't really bother the leaves like I thought grasshopper did. They love the buds. And thats why those plants where so far behind. Because the grasshopper where eating the buds and leaving the leaves alone. I went to go feed my plants today and LBH 1, 3 and 4 buds are getting eating down t the stem. LBH 4 got it the worst, she has almost been cleaned out of buds and I found 2 huge grasshoppers just hanging out in the shade of the leaves all stoned out of their minds. Good for them I guess. But thats it for them I hope. Gave it a good dose of neem which I try not to use but really had no choice at this point. Hope it works and they continue to put out the sticky stuff.

Anyway, here are some pics.
