Our Ongoing Grows

Looking good my friend! Love the Super Lemon Haze... The more I vape SLH, the more I like it. Thank goodness I grew as much of it as I did, as it's so amazingly good. It's top 3 for me now, as far as my favorites. Yours looks great! I'm more than a bit jealous... :)

As always, beautiful garden my friend. Hope you had a great X-mas, and have a wonderful new year. :)

Anytime Alaska your welcome to drop in. Hey GL with those strains. I wasn't sure I hooked ya up with AKxSkunk. This is my first trial run with it. But it's looking great. Should be ready real soon. Hey here's alittle item I don't think a grower should be without. I'm going to try alittle myself soon. Just spray alittle on a lower branch and you get fem seed. I know you can make your our silver spray but hell it's pretty cheap so I guess I'll give it a try. Might get some good female pollens to with with the Cripit. I was thinking of a God Bud and Cripit mother or visa versa. Maybe call it Gotit or something? Check this out. I need abit more research
I agree Xlr that strain sure has it going on in the flavor department. I do have a clone so I'm going to grow it at least twice and then I have a stashed seed which is a hail mary when it's time to grow it again. I always favor Indica. But SLH is sure a taste treat with a clean buzz.
Bid, I love the strains. Pretty easy to grow and I've never had any PM with it, knock on wood. Local seeds here in Oregon. I've heard it's being grown out world wide but for the seeds here ya go, Cripit; Cripit. and Berkley Blues; Berkeley Blues They really don't finish as fast as they claim but even at 50 days for the Cripit it's still fast enough. Nice yield of rock hard buds that have a fruity thai flavor. I love the effects of this 100% indica for meds. Yea I'm still plugging along with this thread. I might start a new one this year tho.............
Thanks 209 Cali, I try. Well least the plants do.
Hey Adams. Sure hope your bro has what ya need. No use in buying what you can recycle from another's grows upgrades. Me and lladams plan on getting him started with a little 4 X 4 and a 600 watt HID light. I know people here will also help him with his grows. He's a newbie and I'm a 'Old Dog' so maybe he'll learn afew new things from others rather than my methods for growing. I might be beyound help but hes fresh meat JK.
Vic thanks I'm trying. Well I hope everyone is having a Great New Years Day. I hope next year is better for all than the last was. And Keepem Green for the whole year.

Well this is new to me GiG. I a first really. But I'd imagine I'll be able to collect enough pollen from the host plant to cross afew others. I understand abit about the process and what all happens, it's just going to be a little trial and see what happens. Hell I got a small mother tent I can throw a 250 cfl in and do acouple. It looks like this stuff is not really cost effective but 'could' be the best 20 dollar bill I ever spent. I've been wanting to work on that Cripit Strain This flip is about the 5th or 6th time I've grow it out. But there is a strain I have I've thought about alot. What plant could be better than the most awarded plant in the cup. Least I think it still is, AK-47. Got the clone from Alaska. Oh BTW here's a pic of her, AK-47;
ak-4710.JPG

I always shake my head and wonder why I haven't tried her cept maybe the cost. Was like 20$ or close per regular seed. But got some now. Not sure of the vendor maybe A-1 will sound out later. This is probably the one I'll end up using for male pollen. I just have to watch close and catch some pollen for some other strains. I can't see why you have to self it onley unto itself. Should be female pollen anyway it goes. And that leaves alot of room to play around with. I generaly need faster flowering strains for my outdoor grows. Possibilities are endless. So hopefully the fun begins. And the AK-47 is just about ready to start.
Another one I've always wanted to grow out. I'd imagine it's from BC seeds. God Bud. I've heard horror stories about the wicked smell she produces. Sounds like what I call 'stinky icky' herbs. I can see she wants to stay short. LONG velvety leafets. She looks alittle cold in the pic's. But then it is abit cold out there. Don't matter the lights are on 24/7 the water in the pots seems to suck in any cold from everywhere. Iwant to get one of the digital gun thermometers and compair areas aroung the tent. Miss J strung up another blanket around it the other day. Ramble ramble. The God Bud;
G-B.JPG

Star-47 is stll kind of young. I think shes bout duhhhhh damn that dubie worked abit. hell she's got least 10 or 12 days to go. She's been a decent plant. I grew Sensie Star before and loved the plant. This plant really packs on the buds. I really think blasting my buds with that little extra from the 1500 watters really hardens up the buds alot. Hopefully next winter I've have 2 going in there. I think I'd run into heat issiues come summer. Star-47;
s-4719.JPG

Speaking of ballasts. I'm kind of leaning over to getting a set of Quantum 1000 dimable's for spring and summer months. I don't want to have to deal with AC so I down size some come summer when the temp's take off.
Btw we, me and my other, got our first sample off the AKxSkunk. I took the sample at 52 days, and she did my right. I just took another sample bud . I figgure taking a sample every couple days kind of gives ya a good insight on exactly when to harvest. Right now is day 54 and she's running 5-10% amber. I want to let this one run till she's 30-40% amber for a change. The plant doesn't have that roadkill smell. Kind of fruity/spicey fragrance. Might be a keeper. Going to yield good for sure, maybe 7+ oz's, knock on Wood. Pretty gold color too.
Ok now for the best smell in the flower room. SLH. I love the smell and taste of this one. Great 'Up' smoke. I think I could give up ciggeretes if I rolled a pack a day up and put these in my smoke case. I don't know what people wood think if I smoked that many dubies per day. I smoke alot. 1 1/2 pack per maybe. Put me in a casionand I need 3. Ok, SLH;
SLH103.JPG

Well that's about it from here. Just a note, Cripit was started flowering 4 days before the Vantage. This Vantage is catching up fast. She's getting some meat on her bones, and sparkle, wow packing that on. Last time I grew Vantage she produced leaf buds. And a friend 'Sisco' grew some and had same results. Cool to see a bud forming at the axis of the leafets. This is another I'd love to get female seeds from. Now I don't want to hurt anyone feelings but I prefer seeds over clones anyday. A plant grown from seed has a tap root and that root is the most important root on a plant Kind of like the terminal top on the plant. Makes for the best roots and anchors your plant better to the grow medium. But at 50 per 5 seeds it gets costy. I'd love to have 500 female seeds of a strain of my choice. What really makes sense to be is femseeds of a good 'lowrider strain'. Man could grow two maybe three crops outside per year. I have had acouple auto flower plants that impressed me. Russian something or another. Well if i missed anyone seeing it's taken me afew hours to finish this I hope alls well. And Keepem Green

haha i love your writing style mate. i grin when you ramble ;)

this female pollen thing. i think that when you hermie a plant and then use that pollen to pollinate itself. thats about as close in breeding as you can get to a clone. so in a way you get a copy of a copy of a copy if you keep going and it harms the vitality.

but if you use that female pollen to breed with a different female, they are still fem seeds, but with genetic crossing...even if its the same strain...i guess its just giving the pot a stir to use a cooking metaphor.

your plants are looking ace my friend. sucks hard that you get such troublesome heat management issues in the summer =(

im dying to work out a practical way to steal our grow heat for something like heating the house water, would help with temps, bills and co2 footprint.

making a grow lamp liquid cooled is easy enough, the issue im stuck with is figuring out how to condense the heat...
so far the simplest solution is as a pre heat treatment. ie cold water comes to the house, gets raised to grow room temps by the lights, and then gets brought to required temp of hot water by the traditional system. its a good little system but is easily overloaded with surplus heat if your hot water demands are low. so i have to figure a way to convert moderate volumes of grow room temp water into smaller volumes of hot water, only using the energy thats in the water to power it =/

i like your comments on the lowryder. my own breeding ambitions lie along the lines of crossing pure ruderalis with landraces to see if we cant squeeze out a better auto injecting strain, superior to lowryder.

and now ive ran out of steam, lol.
=)

Looking good my friend.....Personally Vantage is my best producer :) Had trouble finding my sign in info that's why i haven't posted in a bit. But as always I come by and watch the master at work often.

Gig I see so much potential in auto flower for the outdoor farmers especially in places it's illegal still. Just that to me seeds aren't cost effective, unless you grow your own. And they have to be female so you don't waste space and numbers on worthless males. I know I've grown afew low rider types that put out 4oz's of primo buds. Imagine growing a hundred straight out of the ground. The yield wood have to go up I'd think. Anything I've ever grow that has unlimited tap root growth gets biggercompaired to potted plants. A grower could harvest before the 'Man' is even looking for outdoor grows. Harvests in June when the sun is at its best. All sounds like a great plant. Just plant twice as much. Heat issiues I guess I'm just to cheap to throw a AC in there. I do plan on it one day, but this year We are going to get hit hard on some upkeep for the homestead. Need shoes for the truck, and we lost our central A/C which we need before it heats up. And Miss J wants to get the pool fixed again. Right this time. LOL. Long story.
A1 glad to hear your doing good out there. You won't hear me talk down on Vantage for sure. In fact I just decided which plant I'm going to use as a pollen donor. I have a perfect Vantage clone going. I plan on spraying the whole clone to be able to collect as much pollen as posiably. I guess I'll start it flowering in the flower room least till I see sing of male flowers. Then seeing how cold it outside I'll just have to expand again. JK but I will have to barrow the guess bedroom till the flower's mature.
I plan on removing one more branch from her. Well here's the Vantage clone I plan on using;
012453.JPG

And here's the product. Called Tiresia Mist. I'm not sure what will happen with the plant I use as a donnor plants selfed seeds. If they lean to be a hermie or what, but I plan on finding out. But the real plans are for the pollen. Cripage is on it's way. Hopefully I'll get enough to pollenate 4 or 5 plants. for seed stock. I'm much rather grow seeds out than clones. Here's the product;
015354.JPG

BTW that herb is the last P-91 I just harvested the other day. Looks like about 3+ oz's of head stash. And the strain is removed for my gardens. Is it just me,,,,,,,,,, after you terminate a plant from your gardens, that last sack of weed seems to get better and you kind of kick yourself in the ass for cutting the strain. Naw Plant is a good one just not for me;
006815.JPG

Still I like the herb at bedtime. 3 oz's will last till I get a replacement for a sleep med. Well kids wake up in acouple hours and I just washed my clone with safers soap incase of mites and I plan washing it once more before I treat it. You are suppose to spray the stems over the leafs with this product. Spray till male flowers show 14-21 days. The male flowers will lag afew days behind the female. Well that's it for a fast update. Good to hear from ya again A1. Maybe we'll all get some good gentic's out of this. Well time to get to work and get my Frankenstien on. Keepem Green

Hey Gig isn't alot to say every time. I understand this because I don't comment everytime time I drive thru. Not that comments are not appreciated, because they are, and besides, that's kind of what keeps us posting isn't it? We going to have plenty of time to iron out the bugs from female seed production. I'm going to more the Vantage clone into flower tomorrow. I've have sprayed three times buy then. They say to spray 4-5 days before you flower. So as impatient as I am, one day early is close enough. I plan giving her drench of Bush Masters then on into flowering her with my regulars crop till I see the male flowers. Then she along with a sister, go into my little 2X3' mother tent under a 250 watt CFL lamp till finished. I'm going to have two plants in there so I get tons of seeds. I know afew people who can really ben.
Hell I even forgot how fast Vantage grows. I have the Cripit in there I have down to just over 7 weeks to finish, but this shit blows the doors off it. This Vanatge is just at 6 weeks and I'm drooling allready. I think it finished at 50 or 52 days, But I do know people who take it earlier than that.You have great usable buds at 6 weeks, but this baby's bud really harden up double in that last week or 10 days. This plant loves food. I've onley grown mine in Black Gold but I'd imagine with hydro people could shave acouple days off my time. Here's Vantage from CH-9 Seeds at day 42;
v18.JPG

And Cripit with about a week to go, at day 45;
Cripit26.JPG

OK here's a pic of another. This is that little bugger Frosty brang for the holidays. It's a White Widow. Petite little bush. The leaves are so small and dainty. Real delicate looking plant. She's going to be alittle harder to trim compaired to what we are use to, she has a higher leaf to flower ratio then most of mine strains. But she's starting to really look like her name. She's getting her white on allready.
WW98.JPG

Star-47 is at day 45 also. I forgot how long the last flowered but this will be afew days longer. Star-47;
s-4720.JPG

And looking like the AK X Skunk will be real lucky to surive much longer. She makes my mouth water. I'm thinking today and right when the lights come on take her. I haven't really seen any change I can see by doing the 36-48 dark cycle. Now I hear that cycle really kicks the 'white' strains into major crystal production. Up to 5 days darkness before harvests. Ok well I got a pic of the AK X Skunk again;
AKxS.JPG

Also cut afew clones off the AK-47 and 2 more Vantages to tinker with. Well that's pretty much a little update of whats up tonight beside the regular waterings and rotating of plants. I'll get some pic's of others soon. I've got a Moby Dick and a Cheese variant also. That Moby Dick just started throwing out some small flowers. She a pretty plant for sure. Short node spacing, but I do use Bush Masters with about everything I grow. I see a difference. Maybe 30% less to the stretching aspect. And it seems to bring on the flowers acouple days earlier. Oh well works for me. Well all hope things are going great out there. And Keepem Green

Wooooweee! Good looking bud is a given on your thread my friend. Love the amazing flowers! Nice idea on pollinating a few. I know you're a big Vantage fan - have you ever grown "Humboldt" by CH9? I've got one of those going now, and their pics sure make it look pretty. I'm hoping it's a good one. I ordered it along time ago - had I known you then I might have ordered the Vantage instead, as it sounds amazing...

Hope you are well - garden looks marvelous as always. :thumb:

That AK-Skunk is looking mighty good! I'm getting really pumped! Going up to WA on Wednesday to p/u my accessories. I can't wait to get started. Getting my OMMC very soon. Good times brother.....peace.

As matter a fact Xlr, I had a friend growing it. I'm not sure of what it was but he ended up culling it for the Vantage. I have grown their Vintage before, I didn't care to grow it a second time. Not even going to say it was no good, I just didn't see anything worth the effort of further exploration. Dude I can't say enough about this strain Vantage. Some of it's genetics were trucked in from Uzbekistan. Hybred Vigor , all I can say is wow. I just went to their site and seen acouple reviews others posted about Vantage. Kind of interesting. But heres the area it's from anyways;
uzbekistan-map-5.jpg

Alittle further north then alot of the top strains origins
I've been growing afew years and done countless strains, this is in the one of the top commercial plants I've ever grown. And don't let that word commercial fool you. I mean that as in ease of clone, yield, and bag appeal, but Vantage's Quailty second to none. Easily 9 on my scale 1-10.
NP 209 Cali. Hell for the price of a fem seed you can have 3 or 4 strains of fem seed. Sounds fool proof. Just have to quarantine her after the male flowers start popping out there. As small as she is it will be a snap to catch them before they do any real damage to my others in flower. But hell least I'll know the genetics of any seed in any neighboring plants, incase some rouge pollen gets away from her. BTW where bouts are you in 209? I've been all over the east bay, in fact last big grow I did, 200 plants 8' plus, was almost dead ontop the Altamont Pass in a old barn converted into a greenhouse. Southern exposure right in the middle of all them windmills. Ultimate spot. Afew people doing that over there. I was lucky, dirt floors and a 16 foot ceiling with mother nature's big HID in the sky. Barn had a hayloft up top we used to start them in there, select and sex the plants we was going to grow out. Then brang them down to the main growroom on ground level. It was a prefect setup. Was is the key word. I kind of got in alittle trouble with that one. OH well live learn....
lladams, we'll get ya dialed in. Even need to get ya site up and running here soon. Man I'm one stupid idiot when it comes to figguring out my way around the pc but we will get it. I'm thinking atleast 1 Vantage in your first grow. I know you've sampled Vantage more than once so you know what kind of herb it is. It'll come together.
Well took the AKxSkunk today. Miss J even broke her scissors on her. But she a beauty. Looking like alittle over 7 oz's of #1 buds. Got acouple decent pic's to show her off alittle. Thought I'd throw out alittle eye candy for a change. I'm calling it 60 days. World of Seeds Medical Collection Afghan Kush x Skunk;

Not alot else going on my little corner of heaven. Just sprayed the female donor baby again starting day 3 on her. And I did start another strain Bubblious. Heard good things about her so it's time has come to see if she will pan out for me. And soon I'll have a pic or two of Moby Dick and some SLH up. I have a Cheese variant in there also from Green House. That about wraps her up tonite Hope alls doing great and gardens are packing on the weight. Keepem Green

Those are some killer pics of the akxskunk. looking forward to it curing. Looking forward to starting my own site. i will begin with pics of my little construction project. Norcal, plan on getting a call from me on Wed after I get back from WA. Also have to come up with a killer name on my user id...anyway, anyone out there got any input on new grow set-ups with a beginner please speak up. I already have Norcal as my #1 resource as well as my cuz in WA. Not too worried, but its always nice to hear suggestions. Take care bro.

hey wood beautiful plants but you know that lol, i just did a bubblecious and i think you'll like it rock hard nugs good production and crazy good smell just like bazooka joe pink bubble gum i gave a clone to member azmeds and he was like wow yeah it does smell like bubble gum, and that was just a large vegging clone, every time i open the jar im like woah bubble gum!! and a good stony indica high not overly powerful couch lock but its there, i think you'll like it:high-five:

I sure plan on finding out there Bid. Does sound like the strains I'm looking for. As you probably know I lean to the faster finishers because when the humidity levels rise up PM sets in. And it always seems to get the longer flowering time plants or the sativa's in you garden. Especially in a perpetual grow. I found it pays to stay at around 8 weeks max in flower. And I can't even try a longer flowering time outdoors here for sure. In fact I'm looking into the Canadian Seed banks for my next outdoor grow.
lladams ye we'll get ya all dial in to 420 as soon as we know what you got to work with.
Well I was just kicking it in the office and figured I try to get afew more pic's of bud porn. These buds have been cured to perfection. Just enough moisture left for good flavor, and to keep it fresh in storage. I keep my stash in the garage where temp's stay nice and cool. Like 45-50 degrees, and a nice dark cabinet.
This is the NL x BB I grew out last. I did discotinued this strain. The high doesn't have enough 'legs' for me. Clean high tho. Had a great yeild, bummer. Looked alot better than what I got outta her. NL X BB;

Ok next I have my Cripit;

And here's the Berkley Blues. If you knowice I pushed her to the long end of her flowering cycle. Alot of strains throw out a male flower or two when the flower cycle is done. I guess for the last chance reproduction thingie. Berkley Blue;
