Our Ongoing Grows

I don't know what brands this applies to, but at least GE panels (a dying brand/breed) make skinny breaker switches. Prior to building my last grow, I had to run all my own lines from the panel, but the box was maxed out. Spoke with the counter guy at the electric store and he told me to just swap my breakers. Of course I had to discontinue most of the original breakers and replace them with skinnys, but I was able to free up plenty of space in the panel, more than I needed. You most likely can add a sub panel if that's the direction you're headed. Perhaps a dedicated sub just for your grow? The only factors of concern are what your service entrance current is and how much actual watts your total devices are consuming at any given moment in time. Making your own juice on the roof further expands the various options you have. I'm looking forward to see what direction you go in!

Edit - 2 skinnys take up one slot on the panel. They're rated the same way in amps

Edit #2 - I just noticed this isn't Tead's journal. My bad Woody! I'm lost in the sauce:tokin:

I suspect Wood will forgive us.
Already in skinny breaker mode. I'll not be changing the overall load, but the link between panels will have to be right-sized.... I suspect my electrician will guide me there. The plan for the additional panel will be 2x 30a runs going from the panel box at the front of the house all the way to the back of the lot. Run length could be an issue... maybe ~120ft.... another point for the electrician to address. There also may need to be a cutoff at the back of the house where the run will go conduit/underground. Grounds at any junctions or terminations will be needed as well. Seems like allot of work... Meh!

I think for 30A, you need 10ga. wire, x2 @120', ouchy!!! Might be cheaper to run one larger line say 50A, 100A.

My problem here is I maxed out my service. We had some remodeling done by Miss J's son. Rather than shut the main off at the pole, they did just what you talked about, another box. Once you have to main shut from the pole, to install a larger main breaker, then you have to have a licc sign off before they will turn it back on. I'm worried alot of their work wasn't code and it might get even more expensive. As far as wiring the box,, that's easy if your fingers wood work.
I drug my little portable A/C unit outta storageincase temps get to high. I just use it at peak temps and throw the exhaust hose venting under the house. All I need is my new timer bar. I made the mistake of not reading about it. It only has the 4' cord. I had a 8' on the old and all the wires ran to it,, so going to be alittle changing as needed once it gets here. Plants are just about ready. I topped them about 5 days ago. I like to let my plants recover atleast 3 sets of leaf after a topping, before flowering. If that makes sense??
Man been awhile since I had a flower crop.... to be continiued

Wellllll Cann I'm abit behind in journals, and haven't had much going on. Just afew plants putting on new leaf or two.
I do have these two of the super autos starting to flower. They should come in by the first of Sept. The one called Number 1 grew out the same as the first. She's a runner. I did top her after abit, which can be plainly seen. The Chaze,, now she's abit tighter in the node spacing. The number one,,, I can see broken branches or tied branches,, everyone. Here's a shot of both. Now the Number One might have just needed full sun and have been a tighter growth pattern;

and here's a pic at night of the Chaze. Man truth be said,, she's flowering right on time. I think these super autos are abit touchy about planting times to show the auto quailties they talk about.

But I do have these pup's straining on their leashes. So I'll do a fast update. These are what I want. Now I got two months to wait before I have a taste;

This is going in also

They don't look happy right now,, they all got a bath of green cleaner. I don't have any bugs or molds, but I treat any plant coming in as if it has. Or as if it has PM and the GCler works on both. My timer is in the mail which gives me just enough time to be able to spray them once more before I flip them into flower.
Here's a OG I have that has some odd leaf growth. Leaf remind me of leather. But this was the way them Hemp Mites started... I sparyed the hell otta her,, twice..

Well like said,, isn't alot growing on here... Soon,,, Soon

Looking good NCW, hopefully I'll catch up soon.

Cheers

Thanks, Miller. You should come bring a pair of shorts and take a dip. PM me we'll talk.
I did have to replace my dehumidifier. She wood'nt turn off. So C-Ya. But looking at what most stores have in stock??? They only held like a half a gallon of waste water... I like these old frigidaire 50 pint dehumidifiers. They hold 2 gallons of waste water. Makes for less work.

And I'm replacing my intake filter. I use a ' 8" Dustshroom' for my passive intake. A real nice thing about these "Dustshrooms' is the filter down to PM spore size, AND have as close to 100% transfer. No reduction in airflow. I've been trusting them to keep out the PM spores with GREAT results. Well worth a buck...

Weather is BEAUTIFUL here............. Keepem Green

I'd love to hit the pool, since I moved I'm poolless.

Cheers

Shit, I'm growing broke because of the internet... Dehumidifier, dust shroom, and bat guano, along with a bag of my cos wettable powder for future useable on all transplants. Spent 400$ without a blink to get ready. But really, I've used that dust-shroom for years,,, and the dehumidifier is 7 years old and was constantly used. So was alot of needed repair. Oh and was a lightrail rebuilt. The wheel set for the trolly was sticking with dust and crap... Best to all and Keepem Green

Well the water stays warm... We only have acouple months to use that SOB so we want all the use it can during the warmer weather... My crib is easy to find. Follow the steam off the water.. Think thats where I'm heading.......... I sent the hookup. Sat will work or whenever Like said I'm retarded,, I meant retired,, both work............ Keepem Green

I don't know IF anyone listens to a different beat of the drum. Mush respect to ALLLLLLLL music.. But I'm rocking to old Hank and need to get bent and hell bound.........
But this could be a intresting thread. Even if all I listen to is counrty/rock????????

What Are You Listening To?

WTF Wood... the power button stopped working and you tossed it?!?! Hook it to a power strip with an on off switch. Mine has those metal film kinda buttons... the 'down' button doesn't work anymore... I unplug it and since it starts at the lowest setting, I just use the 'up' button to get to where I want (55%).

I think most of the newer ones are made more for a drain tube configuration. It's easy... don't let it frighten you. Usually they're made so the water backs up into the res and shuts off the unit when the drain plugs. Having said that, I use a 50pint unit and just empty it once a day.

That's what I do with mine, empty it once every day or two. I didn't want to use the hose. You either need to raise the unit and drain to a bucket, or a put a hole in the floor for drainage. These Frigidaire have a 2-gallon tank. I bought the 50-pint unit, Which works for me. I keep the R/H at 50%The ones I seen in stock didn't hold shit. 2 quarts if lucky. Naw for the sake of 2 hundred dollars, I'll just get a new one. The last lasted a long time. If I can't afford a few dollars for maintenance, I'm in the wrong business. Not that I do this for the monies, but I do sell enough that it pays it's own way as far as electric and lamps, and seeds. So acouple oz's pays for it. The few peoples I do sell to, I give them it for 5 bucks a gram, across the board. 5 gram bags for 25$ 140 a oz.

Oh, BTW I started 2 more strains, a Red Desiel and a Sweet Tooth, both from Barney Seed. I've grown Sweet Tooth before. A friend gifted me some seed back when, was great herbs. Since I've tried BC Bud Depoy's variant and was disappointed with it. So we'll try again. Chasing the name game. And I love the sounds of the Red Desiel..

or a put a hole in the floor for drainage

Tead's 100+ yr old house is raised about 4 ft off the ground on brick piers. Sure makes it easy to drill a hole and shove a bit of tubing thru it. When I get that room organized, I'll drill that hole and run the draintube in a heartbeat... Tead's lazy!
Our raised houses really do provide many benefits. Electrical and plumbing are much easier. I can get up under there and take care of any issues easily or run new lines if I wish. Handy! Of course, the main reasons for raised houses are cooling and flood related and other pluses are just gratis... I just like to grab the bonus low hanging fruit and run with it.
