they are praying for light since I put dual arc in today - it is a lower output but a metal halide and hps in one.

is it a good thing or a bad thing that the leafs are reaching up for light? will it cause more stretching? looks like the leafs have boners.

I think this was heat I forgot to turn the fan back on one time it got real hot real quick and that one was in a bad spot. what do you think?
 
well mainly because airstones make a lot of noise also the floor space of my res is almost 1.5'x2.5' so an airstone or diffuser will make very little difference in keeping things from settling on the sides. I just stuck a pump on the wall and plan to run it every once in a while just has a tube pointing at the bottom of the far side of the res and cycles the water around pretty well in a matter of moments. and the roots get like 20 gallons of air when the water drains - atmospheric pressure forces the air in the pots.

My airstones nor my airpump makes any noise that you can hear. I use the Dual Whisper Aquarium Pumps and the 14 inch aquarium stones.
