Hey there my Buddy. Jo settled in to watch TV.....she's still asleep. We are fine my friend. Thanks for asking. You can't miss a day! I can't either! I don't even want to think about it. It's hard enough keeping up with fishy's Journal! Slow and easy on the chores, you have time.... :Namaste:

Good weed to you too!:high-five:

don't know what I was thinking when I said go Jogging (face palm):scratchinghead::sorry::Love: but when I was getting coffee this morning a goddess was running down the street and WOW she was extremely HOT:drool:I almost wanted to start jogging:)

Go after her if you can. Never mind, smoke some good weed and ponder until the urge passes. Or better yet think about what she will look like in 40 years. Just saving you some energy! :ganjamon:

No sweat on the jogging thing....you owe me now! :rasta:

I dunno theres some good looking older women these days

The Story Continues................................................... The Beginning of the End

Jo and I were watching TV and I had to go. I went and happened to look at what I had done. I didn't like what I saw at all. My stool had bright red stripes around it. I when back down stairs and talked to Jo about it. We "Worse cased it" and decided the worse it could be was cancer.

The next morning I went on sick call. The Doctor didn't give me a feel with his finger, instead he made an appointment for me to have a Barium Enema. As it turned out I tried to have it done 4 times. It never happened. I could not stand the pain. I got the feeling that the ladies there thought that I was a wimp.

Finally a male tech did a finger probe. He looked at me and asked if my Doctor knew that I had a large growth just inside my rectum. Ah no, he didn't.. The tech and I went immediately to see my Doctor. He did a Proctoscope on me immediately. They are not fun. He told me to get dressed and come to his office.

I walked into his office and stood before his desk.

Then he told me I would be having surgery and that some of my colon and my rectum would be removed and that I would have a Colonoscopy. And I would be forever wearing a bag on my stomach to go in. I would be changing the bandage every three days forever.

Honest to God, I looked behind me to see if he was talking to some one else.

Then I got really mad and told him I wanted a second opinion. He looked at me and told me I could go down to Walter Reed Army Hospital in DC and let them look at me.
Two days later I did go down to DC. What they found was worse than what my doctor told me. If fact I would have the surgery the next week.

Jo and I went down to Walter Reed and I had the surgery. In all truth, I was hoping I would die on the operating table. I had had a really good life to that point and I honestly did not want to live that way for the rest on my life. Very selfish of me. I realy wasn't thinking clearly. Shame on me.

When I woke up in the recovery room and realized I had made it, I said " FU*K" really loud. The nurse said "What did you say?". I found out later that it was a 9 hour surgery. They started above my navel and ended at my tail bone. No more butt. It still hurts.

The Story Continues...............................................................................Months of Hell

OMM your story continues and as it continues the story just gets worse. I'm really sorry to hear about what you have had to go through. My dad had the same thing done at the age of 75 and he hated life after that. He live for another 16 years but just couldn't understand why he was there. We had another family friend that had it done also and didn't have any problems at all but dad fought it all the way. I always felt bad for him and mom. Now days they can repair things so it doesn't happen as much. You are a strong man and seem to have taken it in stride as life goes on. Thanks for your story.

Thanks beemerbill. Well, I was telling everyone the worse was yet to come. Kind of read at your own risk. Life is going to get us all in the end. Sorry about your Dad. I do understand him though. Both my boys are checked for cancer often. They have the gene too. My oldest did have the beginnings but they caught it early and stopped it.

I adapted pretty quick and just kept trucking. I could tell some awful stories about it. I used to come home on the bus on weekends from Walter Reed. My bag came off on the bus, what a mess. Everyone on the bus was ready to get off. It came off here in front of Macy s once, splat on the sidewalk. Jo was a champ and helped me get home. I carry many bags with me now. I learn the hard way sometimes. :peace:

You should see me changing my bag with my oxygen tank hooked to me too!

Hey Cronic. Could you come over in the next couple of days and give me some help? Thanks!:high-five:

no worries ill be giving you a call

Aw man - it sucks that you've had to go through all that, and continue to have to deal with it AND now the oxygen. But, this is why I admire you so much. Your positive spirit, love for your fellow brothers and sisters, and positivity in the face of adversity make you one helluva guy. One that I'm truly proud to look up to. I know it gets the best of you sometimes, but you always bounce back and make the best of things. I'm sure glad to know you brother, and that you did wake up from that surgery. Your resilience is an inspiration to me and many others - truly.

Crazy how when we're young, we never imagine the horrible shit we'll face as life catches up with us, huh? Thank god for friends, good bud, and the support of those who love us regardless of our flaws...

Love ya buddy!

Hey X Buddy! :high-five:

As someone once said "Whatcha goina do?":cheesygrinsmiley: May as well face the facts and get on with it!.

The real bad part for me was Jo. I was trying to get a European assignment so she could see some of the world too. We had not been married very long either.

You are so right about life catching up to us. Here at 420 we have sooooo much support and good feelings between us all, its great. :cheertwo:

Makes a world of difference for me.

X I hope your doing better by friend! Love ya :thumb:

Everyone needs a friend like Cronic! Instead of coming over in a day or two to help me, he came over tonight. He re-potted two sprouts into airpots and now we have the last 3 plants all ready to veg and go out soon.

Thank you Buddy!
