OldMedMan Goes Indoors Part 2

The only dif with a smart meter is the digital readout rather than analog....a tiny transmitter sends the meter info to the meter reader's computer in the truck. It just saves going door to door to read the meter:wood::hmmm::bitingnails::bitingnails::bitingnails::scratchinghead::scratchinghead: really don't understand all the anxiety....they've always read your meter....the reader just doesn't have to pass your dog, or fence, or stinky trash or open windows:lot-o-toke::party::ganjamon::tokin:
We've had smart meters for a while.....no biggie man. You can just keep doin' what you've been doin'.........350,000,000 electric bills go out every month. Nobody is paying that much attention unless you're really asking for it. Depending on animals, equipment, and the ammount of work done at home, my bill can swing 6or 700 bucks a month....and has for years. Not once has anyone said a word
Relax man :)

Just thought you should know... The smart meters are more than just a time saver for the meter reader. They CAN and DO monitor you usage, and can even break it down by the hour as to what your usage is. And they can do this by simply turning to their computer... Just like we can. I can log onto my account right now, and tell you how much energy I used at 10:30 this morning, or from 1:15pm to 2:15pm- and it's 2:30pm right now. They don't even send a meter reader out here anymore since the smart meters were put in. They just do a poll at central. They are SO sensitive as to the amount of usage, I can tell you the exact amount of KwH that my usage jumped when the lights for my grow came on. A pattern like that, to someone that is looking for it, (the same usage jump at the same time every day, and that exact same amount drops at the same time every day) sticks out like a sore thumb.

Granted maybe law enforcement doesn't make a habit of calling up the electric company and saying, "Okay, gimme all your pattern usages to investigate today," but if there's a guy paid to monitor and report any suspicious usage, it's only a matter of time before he notices yours. Thankfully I live in a state that medicinal use is legal, and, as does OMM, I believe, so this isn't really much of an issue.

That said, I know that there are others here that aren't exactly patients in other states that might need to know the possibilities of these meters and the potential for someone at any time to be able to track usage on any one account, as far back as the original install of the meter...

Sounds good omm.....:peace:
The installed those smart meters over year ago where I live, displays kw hrs used kinda cool

Hey Jon, Actually...with a meter I could see what I was adding to the bill, by each thing I installed that way. Would help me to keep my bill down. Now we're are thinking about raising the plants up to the lights and moving them down as needed. :thumb: One way are the other they will be closer to the girls.

Here in this particular slice of heaven, they still drive past ,in the truck, to collect data.....our meters must be street smart instead of book smart.
For years we had two rooms full of reptiles and all the associated heat tapes and lights n stuff, while I ran welders, lights, compressors and crap in the garage. Huge swings and timers but never a peep.
Our smart meters are likely 1st gen or something, 'cause this seems to be the land of the hit and run Grow House....like Meth kitchens in Indiana....and the cause for bust is only the electric when they try to steal it. I almost never have heard of personal grows, it's always like a hundred plants going out the door at dawn on the news.
That said: I do use twin Advanced 300wt Diamond LED lamps and CFLs when indoors. My footprint is tiny. And you are correct in always chosing caution....the penalties are harsh in a lot of places
I love your living room you got here papa ;)

nice bunch:Namaste:
ciao y'all

Hi Jon.......CFLs for veg....what little I'll do....I want to get each topped to 4 colas. Then right to flower with the 2 HPS. :Namaste: Was out looking at things and it will be do-able. :cheertwo:

@ Jandre2ks and Chopper....yes i hope you are right Chopper, as well as i believe you are right too Jandre because who is to say or regulate, its just another step for big brother which is sad because it invades your home your last sanctuary which is illegal with the supreme court making that decision of no wire tapping, this practically can be wire tapping.

I live in a legal state too, but its still up to the feds too, and with who governs the license here its spooky, its the cops that regulate and monitor, they need it to go into the dept of healths hands already, but they will likely no longer use pain as a way to get perscription, only would be for cancer and such, which i believe is totally justified for cancer and such, however, pain is huge, you have thousands of people hooked on pain meds i mean common government seriously.:Namaste:

Hi Guys,
Our tickets out here go through the Drug and Alcohol Dept. They are totally behind in issuing out cards. Last year, it was almost 6 moths after I applied when I got mine. This year wasn't too bad, maybe 4 months. They are so busy with the regular stuff they handle, that the cards are ways late.

As far as Big Brother goes, it's true. The government wants us all to be in a state of fear. There is even a College course about it. It's taught at either UCLA or Southern Cal. It's like the government always has something going on that scare us. What a world. :smokin2:

OOOOooooo:whoa:......new beans!! I couldn't help myself
Derry has done it again....the "CUP" that is. His entry this year was "Liberty Haze"
Considering how much I love his Utopia Haze, (and of course, LUCY.... and Pinapple Chunk, and Sweet Tooth, and Acapulco Gold etc etc etc)

Just dropped the order......Liberty Haze....Tangerine Dream and a few Reserva Privada OGs just because :)
:yahoo: Big-A :yahoo::slide: Love a UFO.....maybe someday I'll even get to grow a few
I'm gonna need a bigger Bean-Box

Just can't resist can ya?:circle-of-love:

Do you even know what you have and how many of each? Something tells me NO! :hippy: You just reach in for a handful. :bravo:

I just finished up dating my spreadsheet.......I have at 127 strains......at least one of each, some more than that.....like Lucy.

Something about this makes me and you all warm and fuzzy!

Liberty Haze....cool!

Think I best grow some of these.....they are getting old. I if keep screwing up grows like this last one.....the seeds will go fast.:rofl::surf:

not a clue.... couple hundred total, I guess....Almost all are Emerald Triangle, TGA Subcool or Barneys...so something less than your 127 strain collection....I tend toward 5 or 10 packs when I order ...there is a bunch tho hehehehehe
It is the realization of a dream that began to crystalize back when I was 14 or so....43 freakin' years ago.......and I'm completely hooked
To order my seeds....Tomato, squash, beans and Cannabis.....in the spring (after perusing seed catalogs all thru the cold winter)
To always have dozens of herbal choices on hand and for each to be better than the last and cost next to nothing to share around
To grow my veggies and herbs as I choose, and to have it mean nothing to anyone but me
***still working on that last one***
Yup.....I'm a dreamer
:)

Yea! I thought so. You do have what you and I like and that's the whole point. Just got a few more Emerald Triangle and Barney's too. Just looked and I have some TH also.

I can imagine you as 14 year old and looking through seed catalogs. Just wishing. I really identify with that. Obviously I did a bit of wishing too.

Think it's great that you still do it. Wish fulfillment is so cool. All those years.
There's allot of that 14 year old still with us!

That's one thing thats good about getting older, you can look back and put check marks for those things you did do.

Just doing a Drive By! :circle-of-love:

126 strains. You can tell the economy is bad when us MMJ users collect seeds for future currency!!:lot-o-toke:

Just kidding!!:goof:
