Ohioboy With Fast Buds: Let's See How Fast Exactly

Hey man if you know it works then that means it's working. I have noticed I do this too. I will fabricate something that is functional but not very appealing to the eye. Later on as I think up new things and my ideas adapt so do my projects. So I always just wait for that to come to me. In the mean time every time I see one of these I just overlook it because it's only temporary.

I took a clone from an auto last year. Had no idea what an auto even was. Probably took it around 40 days or so. It rooted and gave up a very nice blunt. Never got any taller just flowered out. Bout ten inches tall. Maybe 4 grams dry. Eazy Rider auto.

Still early enough to get something out of it. Good luck. I hope it roots for you:popcorn:

I hope I skinned the bottom of the stalk and covered in rooting hormone powder then I put her in a soil peat moss mix 3/4 peat moss 1/4 soil and a couple two drops of rapid rooter from the gh line and she doesn't look great but she has stood up some

Cover her to keep humidity in. I use two liter bottles or even three liter bottles.

IMG_090730.JPG

Just cut one poke a couple hole in it. Small ones. Up top. Just slip it right over top of cup and all. Keep it out of direct light. I suggest the dimmest part of your tent for eight days. Maybe less maybe more. Lightly pop it out after to see if it has roots. if not pop her back in and cover her. If you see root cover her up for a day or so and move her to a lil brighter spot.

Make sure to keep soil wet. I only wet once. When I take the cover of I don't water again until dry. Cup is light when picked up.

Good luck. I can never get em to root that small. I can't get at em right with my ham fingers

I've done the 2litter bottle as well but I use the top part so it has a hole ya know but I wanted to ask you if you know why some people cut the leaves in half when they clone? Does that help it take root in any way I noticed yours were full still

Ohio boy. Cutting the leaves back reduces transpiration. Without roots they have the ability to uptake water greatly reduced, but it still perspires through its leaves. Cutting them in half allows the plant to retain moisture longer until the roots grow enough to support the uptake. I cloned that one a lil bigger than usual. But if it takes I will do it again. i used leave the top leaves. But lately I just trim up the bottom of the stalk and plug her in. The way I do it I have very good success. Nice and simple.

Not saying my way is right. But it works for me and that works for me.

kelticBlue was also very correct. I believe. I used to do it because that's the way they looked in pictures.

I also use to use a two-liter soda bottle to clone with. Hey, it's cheap and does work real well.

I like the bottle idea! I have seen people grow in them too. :thumb:
I'm growing some tasties of Northern Lights Pearl in em now on my journal.

So I know outside clones are to be shaded but my light meter spikes over 2000 outside in the sun with it layin on the ground inside under my leds I've got to be within 2 feet to get the meter to hit 2000 lumens so you still think I need to shade it?

Mornin all so I gotta start with this (I'm gonna call a clone but if your following me you know it's more of a mistake than a clone) clone I've done both covered and not and in my climate covered I've had mold and rot even with airflow and uncovered mold. Also had them die and live both ways. I've never cut the leaves in half and all in all I'm around 50/50 not the greatest but I say that because I love how there really is no wrong way there's just different ways ya know some may be better than others on paper but still no black or white ya know and rally that goes for the hobby in its entirety I love this game!!! So my "clone" shot pistils out over night . I know it's still viable just from the water reserves but still I do need to mention that the rooting hormone I have is amazing and it's cheap shit
420-magazine-mobile1400245033.jpg
and since I've started to use this stuff I've had way better success. She's standing up which is a good sign...I scraped the bottom 1/2 inch raw of the stalk and then covered it in the rooting hormone and I make the medium a thick almost stew consistency
420-magazine-mobile947050611.jpg
see she's up now looky here

420-magazine-mobile1136846310.jpg
those were not there yesterday I've not covered her but I've misted her once yesterday and this am once. Let's see what happens like this. I look at it like this if we don't experiment well then we will be stuck in a rut of 50/50 and I would personally like my odds to be a little more in my favor so let's see what happens.

Not shade it. Just outta direct hard light. You got a cfl laying round. Use it for a few days. That works. If you cover, humidity will be right. I'd say somewhere above 80 percent or maybe even higher

Ok so to my sisters.
420-magazine-mobile795703285.jpg
yeah I know after all that bragging I'm 2 degrees up but still tolerable and it's steady so I'm still good

and it's opposite they seem to be the main blockers but as was noted by a fellow forum grower make those branches stretch for light make em work until flower so I will but I'm gonna enjoy cutting them when the time comes

isnt she a beauty the topping has affected her more so than her sister

look at that growth structure so compact and big she is real strong is the word I'm gonna use brittle would imply dry and she's not dry but just stout and strong if I were to train her it would have to be early early and very very slow she doesn't allow much bending at all but I'm very happy with her

Just doing a drive by. I'm not sure about the strains your working with, but some plants do alot better if you don't top them. I like to top my girls repeatedly, like 3-4 times in the veg cycle. But like I was saying, after you grow the same strain afew time and do alittle experimenting, some plants are single cola plants. They produce one monster main cola, and on some strains, your yield will actually go down when topped. You end up with multiple smaller colas. While with most strains, your yield does go up with the toppings. But then you never get to see what that one main cola might be.... So it does pay to grow the strain plant out afew times, trying afew different ways, till you find the way your girl likes to be treated.
I've done afew experiments on what effects on the yield wood be with 3 pots. 1 pot with 1 untopped plant, 1 pot with a topped plant, and 1 pot with 2 plants in it. These were all clones of the same genetics and age. The yield was as one wood think. 1st place was the 2 plants, 2nd was the topped plant and the untopped bringing up the rear.
Girls sure look happy. Keepem Green

When I'm growing photos I also do multiple toppings (nuts sprinkles whip cream lol) but with these autos I'm running now I've never even heard of multiple topping sites most don't even top once. If u know of a slow down method for these autos to allow multiple toppings I would love to hear about it thanks for driving by brother pull up a chair have a dab and enjoy the scenery

Mornin anyone out there lol just checking in I'm bumping up the water/feed cycle as she's going to be flipping in the next week or so, my last feed/water was Friday last i my schedule would have me watering/feeding again this Saturday but I'm doing it tomorrow my roots have been stretched and if they aren't established by now I fear they never will and I want to give max amount of nutes while in flower so checking in

here they come!!!
420-magazine-mobile1619826728.jpg
420-magazine-mobile1786406905.jpg
so I've reached my edge and all branches staked have flipped up to the light my objective isn't a "table top" it's to get all branches out and away from the main stalk and it's flowers to come it allows for more air and light penetration more room for flower development and it's lst'ing as I make them grow horizontal while they want to grow vertical so the plant works harder to make them grow up while they are staked( I hope that made sense) I'll do some defoling tonight or tomorrow on Crystal

again the only training here is a topping that I did at the 4th node
420-magazine-mobile63448129.jpg
so all 10 main cola sites have broken through the canopy this am yeah!!! And yes I counted there are 10
420-magazine-mobile17069601.jpg
and at 7 days behind her sister Star is now showing off her sexy
420-magazine-mobile800226688.jpg
its a start and there's a few pistils like those two all over her sites check out the compact nature of her genetics

Today was the first day I woke to the smell of reefer in the air lol bring on the flowers!!!!!
