My personal preference is to keep a couple of 6500k bulbs in the grow. But other people may not do that. It is because I still want a bit of vegetative growth up to the end. But that is just me.
That's exactly where I'm at right now. I just swapped out 2 more 6500k's. I'm now running (2) 6500k's with a set of (3) 3000k's on either side. Total of (8) bulbs. I'm gonna ride this setup until they tell me to change. Could be later, could be never
Hey Obi my friend, here are a few thoughts for your consideration. I don't do a flush at the end. I'll explain...I cut off the top buds or any buds that are ready for the chop in my opinion. That leaves the lower less ripe buds to grow fatter and the popcorn buds to fatten up. That makes trimming easier on me (not so much to trim at once). I can't find anywhere in the rule book where it says I have to chop the whole plant all at once. I put the stems of the cut buds in some distilled water for a couple of days or ph'ed water is good. Change the water every day. That is the flush and it makes the smoke much smoother. If you are only going to be doing bubble hash then that step is not needed. I wash my buds. That way I get much smoother smoke and higher quality meds and a larger yield to boot.
I'm not sure how I'm going to finish out this grow. Much depends on the initial harvest date. This grow could go early or late, I really don't know. The breeder lists flowering period as 7-9 weeks. I am anticipating something in the realm of 8-12 weeks. I'm not sure when I want to start counting flowering days. I'll probably start with the first of this month to make things easy for myself. That will get me my ball park date to start examining Trichs. I think I had 6 of 8 plants in full flower by then.
I like your thoughts regarding the staggered harvesting. Picking only the flowers that are at the desired peak harvest threshold. If this grow runs long I may be able to do this.
Feel free to laugh at an old hippy. I wish you the best my friend.
I'd much rather laugh with an old hippy than at one
Here's to future laughs,
