But it's expected because you aren't in that line of work. You learn what you need to to do your job lol

Exactly my point....and don't be surprised when those in that profession have a bit of skepticism towards your input, questions, etc because of your lack of pedigree. I mean are you surprised when someone tries to question a person about marksmanship that has never owned or let alone fired a weapon. Doesn't mean the person can't learn enough about it without actually doing it ask a legit question or give legit commentary.....just that they are going to have to work harder to learn enough to establish credibility or respect in that field. You can barely find a female that can either call play by play or even color commentary....but yet Tony Romo with zero broadcasting experience walks in and does a better job than 90% of ALL the announcers. Why? Cause he has a penis or because played the sport for a lifetime and knows the game? I gotta think its the later than helps him be credible and good at it....and not his penis. And lets be honest....sports media both male and females these days suck as a whole.

I have to disagree with the analysts. Commentary meh, but female analysts are killing it right now.
You mention being an expert. It doesn't take a helmet to the chest to understand the nuances of the route tree.
Also the comment about a women throwing a ball 15yds? Come on. I know women that can throw a 25yd+ dart.

I also think the word 'offended' is over used.
I'm not offended by his comments or the situation. I think it was an ignorant comment, given the women's profession. I would expect more respect given she's made it to that point.
Like I said, it's about tact and timing.

Two things Cam has had a problem grasping since joining the league.

I understand your view, I just don't think it's as black and white.

AND THIS IS WHY I LOVE OUR COUNTRY!!!
We may not see eye to eye, but we can discuss it, agree, disagree, doesn't matter, bc in the end you're still my brother!
Thanks for your sacrifice in service.

Again, it isn't saying that they can't be good...its that they are at a distinct disadvantage. I hated Tony Romo as a player (mainly because he was a cowgirl) but the dude is so insightful as a color commentary. Please understand the difference between me saying its harder for them, or anyone that hasn't played the game, and NOT being able to do it.....big difference. I am all for anyone doing what they want if they work hard enough and earn it. I hated Phil Simms. He played and I muted the TV when he was a broadcaster. Absolutely horrible.

And lets be honest, a 15 yard deep out to the sidelines isn't a 15 hard pass. You are slinging it 30 yards in the air. Not a lot of women can make that throw. Not a lot of men can make that throw accurately and on time.

And I love your comment, it wasn't offensive as much as ignorant. Spot on 100%

What's color commentary?

There are two announcers that broadcast a game. You have the play by play....who describes the play as its happening. Then you have the color commentary broadcaster. Generally its a former player that is there to bring "insight" into game. They generally will do a breakdown after the play is over. Pat Summerall was the play by play and John Madden was the color commentary. For Monday night football, you have Al Michaels as the play by play, and Chris Collinsworth is the color commentary/analyst.

Sorry for the delay, was at physical therapy.

No apologies needed! Lol

Yeah my point was that people seem to be nit picking things that have changed due to sex, race, sexual orientation etc. No one judges on content alone anymore, just the face of the content itself.

My point is we are in a time where it seems people are looking for reasons to be "offended". I have two examples since I was at Physical Therapy and since I got home.

First one was at therapy. Now understand I have been going to the same PT place for about a year. Some of the other patients have been going for a while as well. We develop a relationship with our therapists. Well there was an old dude there, in his 80s and his therapist is a cute girl in her late 20s. They have a banter back and forth type of relationship. Well today she was talking to someone and he jokingly said "Jessica, you talk to much....just shut up". Now for those of us that have been going to therapy and know those two, know that he is playing. Well apparently there was a bitter middle aged woman that feels she needs to get involved in everything going on approached the old guy and laid into him. Again, none of her freaking business, both the old guy and Jessica were laughing, but the bitter bitch (yes I have seen her for a few months and she is always in a foul mood and complaining about someone) is going off on the 80+ year old man. She berated him, called him rude, a sexist, he should be ashamed of himself and how she was so offended by his comments. Now for the life of me, I can't figure out how the 'sexist' comment made its way in there. I can see how someone who might not know their relationship might think it was mean and maybe ask her if she is ok, but I don't get her exploding, yelling, berating him and calling him sexist over a joking relationship they have. I had all I could do to keep my mouth shut towards her.

Now fast forward to 15 minutes ago, I walk in from therapy, sit down, turn on the news and low and behold another case of ridiculous "offensiveness". Apparently there is a backlash against a Doctor Suess mural in public because.....get this......Doctor Suess had a chinese looking character in a book published back in the 1970s and they are twisting that Dr. Suess is.....get this....racist. He has to be because he had a character that had 'chinese' eyes. I mean really??? Come on people. Those books were written almost 50 years ago. This culture of just looking for reasons to be offended and label people as 'ists' is just so out of control. How do you take any of this serious anymore??

This was by no means directed towards you VS. I know what you were getting at. The way you put it could be taken differently than you mean but I take your meaning.

I think he means he'd rather hear from people that have done not watched ,male or female .

Weve done it ,the shits hit the fan ,next thing u know all the feminazi's will be up in here hitting us with their handbags and complaining that in high school girls don't need to jump as far in long jump or run as fast in sports class to pass

No, I wasn't taking it directly brother. I guess what I am getting at going back to the beginning of this discussion even before the Cam Newton discussion is that people have a choice on how they can perceive something. I just don't buy into the "offended" category, even when its directed at me or my group. People are just seeking out reasons to find offense with things. I choose to see the humor in offensive humor instead of being offended (yes even if its against white people, males, the Dutch, or any other category I might belong to and the comments might apply to). I love the comedians I grew up watching and loved their material which by today's standard would be boycotted or definitely labeled as racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, and every other 'ist' or 'phobic' you can think of. If I don't find something funny, i just don't find it funny. I don't go in an uproar over a controversial comment. I am a firm believer in the old saying...."Its not what you say in so much as the way you said it". But then again, I am person that finds humor in making fun of myself.

Hey, I saw that shit in the Marine Corps brother. All the feminists saying "Women should be able to go into combat just like the males". Ok....cool, make them do the exact same qualifications that the males are doing with the same standards. "Oh no, thats not fair, men are stronger than women and women lack the upper body strength to pass the male requirements". Huh.....didn't you just said you believed in equality but now you are telling me you don't think they are equal?? Ok, well make them do their runs in the same time requirements as us. "Oh no, thats not fair either, men and women are different physically". Look if you want to do what we do....then make it equal across the board.

On a side note, we still haven't had a single female pass the Infantry Officer program yet. All the feminists are up in arms and want the standards lowered so that women can pass. Thankfully the Corps has told them to go screw themselves.....if you want to do what the big boys do, you gotta meet the same standards.

Ok, done venting. Sorry Plant Wrestler....back to your beautiful girls!!
