NorthernCosmos' First Indoor Soil Auto Grow: 2019

Yeah... well... I'm afraid there'll be autos for the rest of the year at least. There are more strains in stock to try out too: OG Kush, Babushka Black, Blueberry Express and Purple Haze. I also almost have an increasingly hard time believing that the Northern Lights are of the same strain :p

With that, and all the unpredicabilities that they come with, there's still lots of excitement to be had from the autos :D

You will learn a lot of them and autos are a blessing to many, including me. I'm really pumped to get going with my autos, cant stand the silence in my workshop since I shut down the grow and fans ramped down... something is really wrong here with that sound missing. :laughtwo:

Need to have a look at the filter, will probably change back to my last filter after a small cleaning of it. The one I got now is very poor performing.... and with cheese lined up in line I will need as much scrubbing there is for smell.

That Blackberry Gum is in a big hurry! Already pushing out the first set of real leaves. :thumb:
Two sets now :) I only wish the Stardawg was as vigorous. The Blackberry broke soil in two days, the Stardawg needed 4 days, and as you can see it's microsopic (AA battery for size ref.) - really, it's so tiny that I can hardly see it without leaning over the bucket. It has put out two more leaves though, and I think it looks like a survivor.

How about one intake filter and one exhaust filter with the fan in between - a bit more work for the fan but twice the filtration? Gotta get those fans whirring again, for your comfort and well being! :D

4 days is still ok by my experience, 2 days is super fast and very potent seeds. Nice comparison with the battery, thought you had invented a new revolutionary way of charging them -you do know they explode if charged improperly? I do! :)

And stay away from the bucket ledge, its easy to get lost and fall down... :laughtwo:

Lol, can you see inside my brain Cosmos? I had this idea before but never got to actually doing it, my initial idea was to run another fan for inlet to the tents with an old filter as first stage scrubbing but it was way to noisy in my workshop so I scrapped that idea. But your idea is much better and probably wouldn't mean much less performance on the main fan, I got a 1 amp 6 speed transformer and I only run it on 3 so there is still lots to give and an exhaust filter would probably bring down the noise levels further even if I need to up a notch or two on the fan trafo.

Would probably not be hard to construct another octagon case and put it series with the one I got the fan and filter in now.

- Docking sequence commencing... T minus...

:blunt:

It's day 15 since seed for the little ones and day 65 for the big ones.

Of the tiny ones, the Stardawg remains the tiniest plant ever and it doesn't look too healthy either. The Blackberry Gum looks normal for the age. I'm debating with myself whether I should pull Stardawg and start something that's guaranteed to do much better...

The tiny Stardawg with uneven colouring and new leaves that looks deformed @ 11 days above soil:

I'd be happier if Stardawg tried to be a bit more like her sister, Blackberry seen here @ 13 days above soil:

The Blackberry is from Seed Stockers. The Stardawg is from Fast Buds and was the only one in a three seed pack that was viable.

So yeah, how long does one wait to pull a potential dud... It's not critical stash-wise, so I'll let it go for a little while more.
I had 3 blackberries fail to germ from fastbuds. Good to note. The one that did is growing some stellar bud though. Duds are totally up to you. My patience is low for them because I can start another seed and get better use of the light (cost).

Heh... out of 4 Northern Lights there are 3 different phenotypes. Not a problem, just interesting, I like the colour variations at least...

The tiny Stardawg keeps being tiny and deformed. I can afford to let it grow since the 4 Northern Lights are leaving the tent in 3 weeks, and I'm going back to triple overlapping - so that's 4 out, 2 in, then another 2 in a month after that. It's by a stroke of luck that the two short NLs are a week ahead of the two tall ones so that I can dry and trim them in two rounds <whew - saved from my own misjudgement of having 4 plants in the same cycle>.

I present Natasha, Natalya, Nikita, Nadia - these now have the nicknames, Blackie, Bushy, Droopy and Perky (they also have numbers but that sooo deplantizing)

As you can see Blackie really is black (Bushy show as a green reference):

And then there's the Bastardawg - what do you reckon, will it yield?

Lol yeah, always nice with some variation but that seems much from same bag?

Lol again, been watching Russian movies lately? Looking lovely Cosmos!

Very nice coloration:yummy:, deep dark.

No I think you can throw that in upcycling for cannabis resin 3d printing. :laughtwo:

Actually, I have. As you may have gathered, I'm a bit of a space flight/exploration fan, and these days it's the Russians that make good movies in the segment of historical space exploration

Here are three movies that space enthusiasts, or anyone liking Apollo 13 and the like, should not miss:

Gagarin. Pervyy v kosmose ("Gagarin: First in Space")
Vremya pervykh ("First Time" aka "Spacewalk")
Salyut-7 (About the rescue of Salyut-7)

There has been the Neil Armstrong movie, First Man recently as well - also a must. And so is Apollo 11, although that's a documentary, or perhaps even an art movie of sorts... beautifully put together.

What a nice day! It's the Norwegian Constitution Day today :D

The sun is out, I've hoisted the flag and had a champagne and asparagus breakfast. Arnold Schwarzenegger himself has been sending us greetings and reassured us that the children's parade and all the rest WILL BE BACK!

And for the first time ever, I'm rolling up some homegrown (Edit: AK420) and going for a nice stroll in the woods in lieu of other celebrations.
