NorthernCosmos' First Indoor Soil Auto Grow: 2019

I've got the atomizing humidifier in the tent that I switched off after the mold-strike. One thing is that it contributed to the mold because of the humidity in the still air, another is that it released minerals (mostly calcium) with the water droplets which covers things in a fine white powder and may have clogged my carbon filter and led to lack of circulation - an evil spiral right there.

There's an old steam humidifier around here somewhere. It's very primitive - just two electrodes in the water. I shall try that in the room where I have the tent. A room humidifier may even be needed for the next drying, to reach 50%. AFAIK the steam humidifier will not spread mineral dust, but actually leave the minerals in the reservoir (I remember cleaning out the reservoir often - better than having the dust everywhere).

P.S. Note to self: I should remember to run my other humidifier to make a better environment for my guitars - forgotten that so far this winter!

Ok, here we go...

The hole thing failed with the cylinder with the super cool green cooling, the plastic welding gave away for the heat and emptied it self resulting in the cooling blocks got overheated and also broke in the welding so super hot cooling sprayed over the plants and burning leds. o_O:cool::laugh::rofl:

Hope you had a good laugh friend :goof:

Ok, here we go...

I love it! :D

The contraption itself that is, not the accident...

It does remind me of this Swedish classic childrens song by Michael B. Tretow (often referred to as the 5th member of ABBA for those who don't know of him - he was their sound engineer). The song is about a fantastic contraption with tubes, funnels, pumps, thermostats, generators and so on, being a Rube Goldberg style perpetum mobile:

That's me in a nutshell! Lol! :)

There will sure be more crazy stuff from my upside down world. :laughtwo:

It's day 73 for the BCN Critical, day 57 for the Amnesia and White Widow and day 34 for the next AK420 and BCN. All had their feeding today.

The 57 day Amnesia is getting a bit of yellowing on the leaf tips. Diagnosis-research-confusion tells me that it's either slight nute-burn, a little light-stress or zink/potassium deficiency. In any case, I'm not stressed out about it - it's much better than the previous Amnesia. The Widow and the youngest AK420 and BCN are all nice and green.

57 day Amnesia with yellow tips - nothing big worries, right?:

Same with closeup, packing on the trichs:

And finally the 73 days BCN Critical, the frostiest plant I've had so far. Quite a bit of amber on the sugar leaves. It's due for chopping soon, either on friday, or on sunday/monday (I'm away this weekend):

The light is 14" above the tallest flowers, so yeah, might be nute burn. Perhaps I ramped up the nutes towards 1/1 a little early. I'll roll off a little for the next feeding. The White Widow is taking it in its stride though. See, already learning a little about different strains' reaction to feeding :)

The chop will have to wait until Sunday when I'm back from partying and it has had its dark period. By then I hope to make positive observations of a little amber on the calyxes.

Oh, and I've inspected the big jar with the Ak420 after a day of rehydration; it looks good and ready for the cure.

The rest of the leaf looks fine so it's more likely nute burn than anything else. You can always add a splash of water to the nutes for that one plant if it's a lighter feeder.

Great frost on that BCNC and you can really see the amber on the sugars, so it's good you're keeping an eye on the calyxes! Amnesia has plenty of time to catch up.

And congrats on the rehydration of the AK! :thumb:

I came home today after my tent has been alone for a couple of days and found that the atomizing humidifier in the tent (not running currently) had a dead fly in the "stage 2" reservoir, causing the whole machine to become full of green algae. It's an unholy mess - I'm surprised how much yuck got built up so quickly. I'm trying to clean it up, but it's just not possible to get to the insides of the reservoir and some nooks and crannies. I'm not sure if it's even possible to get rid of the algae - perhaps I should simply decommission this humidifier?

I was much more pleased to see how the 77 days old BCN Critical is getting on:

Speaking of tasting, which I'm doing as I type, after 45 days of curing, the first Amnesia and White Widow has transformed into sweet smooth smoke. I'll start tucking away various strains for a long time to always have well cured high quality buds at hand and to find the sweet spots of the cure.

Having reached the stage where you can savour different grows, strains and cures is great fun and greatly satisfying - to be the master of one's own medicine :thumb:

Well, but then again you are Mr. Lost In The Fog :p

On a more serious note I was imagining a cellar full of jars - at least there are plants everywhere and harvests all the time, or perhaps it me who am lost in the fog and have used wrong subjective metrics... (OK, serious for half a sentence...)?
