NoobyMacDooby's Grow: Less Nooby More Dooby!

Run it till the wheels fall off lol

Wheels are barely on it as is so that shouldn't be too hard..hahaha

Grow update:

So somebody forgot to turn up the dimmer switch on the lights because stupid leds are stupid bright and now all time spent under the fluoros was a waste as they stretched. Dialed the light up to eleven so in my next post I'l be moaning about light and heat stress...lols.

looks like bloody sativa now:

new lights running:

So to save on drivers for now, the lights have been wired so that a QB swops out with a cob. 5 cobs plus 2QB will run during veg. During flowering it will be 6 cobs and a QB

That's a nice light setup man. Good work. Don't stress about high humidity. It is good for the plants, especially with higher temps. Just keep airflow at maximum.

Thanks not too shabby for a home build and was watching the newest episode of growtube and they touched on VPD stuff which I've read about but was too nervous to try. According to the one guy as long as the temps are high you can run high humidity even in flower without PW or bud rot. You can get an increase in yield from it. I'l be running high humidity in veg but not taking any chances in flower though.

I like to run at about 50% in flower. I definitely notice a difference. I should actually be running at around 70% though.

yeah so they say....I feel like you need to have your room super dialed in to do that. And I'l rather play safe at 50% than mess up a crop trying to get a couple of extra grams out the deal.

The guy who spoke about the VPD says he came across it after he set up a room in his roof. It got crazy hot and humid in there due to lack of proper cooling but he couldn't do anything about it and his usual room was running fine so he just let it go. Ended up yielding so much more than the other room he went to go research it.

There is definitely something to it. All you need to do is keep your room clean, and have plenty of air exchange/movement. Fans should be running 24/7.

Yup, you can see in the photos but there are 2 fans blasting in the room. I will need to upgrade my out take fan at some stage though the room isn't cleared fast enough for my liking. I have a 3rd fan ready for flowering if needed

On the grow side the plants are still stretching. Bit perplexed by this but I dont have a par meter so I have no way to check my light spread and intensity. On my next dwc res change I going to move the buckets closer together and move the plants closer to each other so the lights can be moved closer too. Currently my lights are seemingly way to close at 40cm from the plants but I dont want them to stretch more.

If your plants are praying for the light, then it is not too close. If it looks like your plant is almost shying away from the light, then it is too close. I like them praying, but not too hard. If the fan leaves are angled up too steeply, then your light is too far away. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks, that makes sense

Ugh dont want that. Stil trying to get to grips with controlling the environment in the room though. The next puzzle is running the AC while keeping the humidity high...without buying a humidifier. Wet rags in front of the fan isn't working that well.

Meanwhile with a full blood blue moon 9000z coming up I figured I'd pop a seed. Got this one seed so lets hope I get lucky.
