Nobody's COB Perpetual: Various Strains & Some Edible Fun At Times In A Tiny Tent

Rider did some research on reds and ended up running his lights 13/11 in flower by adding like 10 mins of red after lights out. The spectrum was very specific though but I can't remember what the nm was. I'll see if I can find it in his thread.

[edit: He ran 14/10 in flower and used GrowMau5 night lights. Read this, this (key phrase: "The use of only far red after lights out is different than the Emerson Effect. It accelerates the end of day reactions in the plant"), and this, and the long discussion here.]

I just looked at the invoice, these are Osram ssl80, 25w each, 660nm (note, they pull a total of 48w at the wall).

AK47 (A?wtf) - Day 66, Bloom 3
White Widow (PFem) - Day 29
HSO Raspberry Diesel(PFem) - Day 10
Dutch Passion Colorado Cookies (A) - Day 1
Cali Connection Green Crack (PFem) - soaking

Good Morning everyone...and welcome DonChiefums20! Few photos today and a little discussion on whats going on with each plant.

I mixed up a liter of mild nutes for the vegging plants: .5ml Ca/Mg, 4ml Big Bloom, .8ml Seaplex. pH the liter to about 6.6 with the new blue pen (calibrated first). The blue pen will be my last attempt at a pH pen...three other amazon el cheapos would not hold calibration in the past so they went in the garbage and I switched to drops.

First, the Cali Connection seed I thought was C99 is actually Green Crack. Either way, lets see how their genetics are....so one is in the water....large seeds, look very healthy.

The Dutch Passion Colorado Cookies was poking through the soil today. This was the first seedling that I tried Mykos innoculant with. It got a few ml (strawful) of the nutes above with some spray bottle water. I was careful not to get any on the seedling.

Next we have the HSO Raspberry Diesel, it got a few more ml of the mixture because its dry and a little bigger. Trying to get more comfy with using nutes earlier so the plants get moving sooner. Maybe 50ml of the nutes.

The WW is branded by the seed retailer...it's in supersoil right now. I have seen others mention how the leaves curl. This one seems to curl leaves on the Y axis to the direction of the light, not up or down...interesting. It looks healthy so I will not worry about it. It got the remainder of the liter of light nute mix., might be all it needs for the week. This is one that I want to start giving more N to, but don't want to get it wet feet.

The AK is still moist about 2" down, so I am going to see how it is faring later in the day before giving any fluid. It's in the flower tent - my 2x2.5 gorilla grow. The 3500K cobs are at 185w (w reflectors for better penetration) and I am turning on the 660nm for about the last hour to give it a total of 220w. I may increase the 3500 as well (it is variable up to 210w). Shed asked about the reds, my plan right now is to run them last hour (from on 10.5-11.5), then to increase that slowly over the next few days to about 13 hours (so reds will be on for 90 minutes after lights out). We will see what it does.

AK has 10 bud sites up top, trying to trim the fans so they get light, when I pull it to water it next it might get more lower defoil.

This plant is looking perkier since exposure to the exhale co2 bag. The bag gets my closet to about 800ppm now that it's reactions are going on, this was higher than when I first opened it.

Tent temps 74-83 yesterday. With the co2 addition I am trying to tweak the lights to get temps slightly higher.

So, I am using two different methods of CO2, the exhale bag, and a 5 pound tank. The bag was about 35 bucks delivered. First day it was giving me around 600 in the 288cu ft room, now it's giving me 800. I thought I smelled something, but I don't smell it now. Cylinders will be cheaper in the long run, on my little tent my cyl said it had 850psi in it, I will let you know when that moves.

I've tweaked the controller to come on at 830ppm during light (it has a light sensor) and turn off at 930ppm, there is some lag in that and with the small tent the ppm goes to about 2200.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Sometime after the vegging plants get a little bigger, we will try clones of the three photo fems...they are all strains that I would like to have around.

Master-I am in the 'we will see' camp on the CO2. Just trying to find out...does it work for us small types, is it worth the cost and trouble, and is there a method that is easier.

Welcome Mr. Magoo! Nobody minds. Ha.

Came home from the horses and the AK needs water. Tent was 84 so gave it 1.26 l ph 6.5 with 1.25 Seaplex, 1ml Ca/Mg, 2.5ml of Botanicare Bloom and 6ml Big Bloom.

Now for a smoking selection, a hosing off and to look at the weekend updates on everyones grows!

Just having a late evening moment on the porch with the one hitter. Love my new tolerance...it's nice to be able to get a buzz easy. Got some MF DOOM playing.

Reds got plugged in an hour before lights out and I left the reds on for about an hour after the 3500K went out tonight. Plan on doing this when I am at home...might look into rigging up a second timer.

Another thing I noticed today with the CO2. If I leave my fan on the lowest setting, I get about 8 on/off cycles an hour. If I turn the vent off, I get about 50-60 minutes per cycle. A fill cycle to the target ppm or slightly over takes about 30 seconds at a flow rate of a liter a minute (if to be trusted-but the lowest flow rate I could dial).

It appears the tent does an excellent job with keeping the co2 in place for the most part. I am running a single fan with the co2 feeding behind the fan in the tent.

With the vent off and the veg light next to the tent at 100% of power, I got to 83 degrees during the hot period of the day. I think I can up the 3500K a little maybe to 195w.

Will be looking for burn or stress signs as we do this.

Not much going on today, defoiled a little on the AK...just to open bud sites and the center some. I hope I am not removing too much.

Prob give the RD and CC a little water with some big bloom in it today, might even do a few drops of Buddha Grow.

shed-Trying not to, and kinda think this will be the last time I touch it.

The green crack has cracked, it's now in a wet paper towel till we see a taproot. I have a larger container, it's like a square 1 gallon, thinking of vegging in this as they tend to fit together under my veg light better than 5 gallons, but will give me a few months time if I go slow and give them some real soil under the seed starter. I will probably be doing this going forward. Larger transplants though and that can slow stuff down a bit, assuming we are doing this with non-autos...thoughts?

Everyone got a little pH 6.5 Big Bloom and Seaplex. I am cooking them and nobody is skipping a beat. I turned on the CO2 at 1140 to charge the tent, let it get to 2500ppm, then turned the tank off. Still above 1000ppm. Vents off and temps got to 86 in tent and 79 outside tent with lights at 190w.

Not much going on today, just smoked the one hitter and am listening to some zep. Very relaxing evening.

No watering today, everyone looks great so letting them go. The veg light is running at 100% from the time I get up till about 10 when I turn it down a bit for the rest of it's hours. I've turned the 3500K up to 200w, I have about 10 more watts left, it's about 15" off the main cola and about 18" off the other bud sites.

Going to give a good feeding to the AK with some of the botanicare bloom, seaplex and a serious does of Big Bloom.
