Are they sourced by yourself? Sounds cool man. How old are they and would you know what strains they would have come from? I'm always down for a chat about older seeds/genetics
I started smoking in 1998 and I started collecting bagseeds around 2001 until 2011, so most of them are between 6 and 16 years old I guess. Some are unidentified, some are poorly identified (e.g. simply labelled as "Hawaiian"), and some I'm pretty sure of the strains they come from (mainly Super Silver Haze, Flo, and a few Jack Flash).
Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of space, so it's gonna be tough to pop a lot of seeds for selection. I'm gonna have to convince my wife to move in a bigger place and buy bigger tents. In the meantime, I'll be following your project with a lot of interest and I'll try and learn as much as I can from it!
My very first indoor grow a few months back was two of those old Super Silver Haze bagseeds. They both germinated. One plant had a bit faster growth, with thinner, darker leaves and rounder buds. The other one was slower, but with more flowering stretch and spear-shaped buds. In the end, the aroma and effect were quite similar tough.
The Hawaiian is a bit of a mystery, because I don't remember much about it. I just remember that it's supposed to be a strain of Hawaiian lineage and that the buds were quite tasty. It was a strain a buddy of mine grew for a short period of time around 10-12 years ago. No idea where he got it from. I don't expect an awesome germination rate, because a lot of those seeds look small and immature, but there's a few nice looking ones.
The Flo and Jack Flash were also grown by a buddy of mine along with a few other strains (Jack Herer, NL#5 x Haze...) so there might be some interesting cross-pollination going on there. Who knows.
All of those were scored in Europe where I live, so I guess there's a nice percentage of old school Dutch genetics in those seeds.
I'll have a look now, cheers mateI did a bit of research and I came to the conclusion that the Hawaiian strain is probably Sensi Seeds' "Hawaiian Indica".
I've heard a lot about SSH, not that interested in it myself but it does seem like a nice plant How do you like it?
I like it a lot. It's a strong and very hazy strain. You're looking at 80+ days of flowering, but it's worth the wait IMHO.
And for what it's worth, Jason King calls it the Dom Perignon of cannabis.
Who is Jason King lol
Edit: I think you have to have 50 posts before you can PM...
I've woken up a little early this morning and decided to move the plants around, add a heat mat and take a photo for the update. All of them are looking awesome and healthy. Growing faster now too
Yep I tried sending but it came up with an error. No worriesOh, that's why I didn't get it. We'll talk in PM in a few days I guess.
Well, here's one more post towards that goal.
Cheers mate!They look happy indeed!
Looking good mate, don't know why but didn't get a notification till this update, weird hopefully it starts warming up soon mate
