Night's Indoor Breeding - Ft SSS Genetics & More!

Hello again,

I'm back for a small indoor breeding project. My goal is to create new genetics and hopefully bring back some old school genetics from history. My setup is a small tent (I think the dimensions are 0.8mx0.8mx1.6m) with just a couple blue spectrum CFL's to get the young ones going. I also have a heat mat in there since it's winter down under so the fragile seedlings can be kept happy and warm :thumb:

Okay so I want to explain a little bit about what has happened up to this point in time. At first my original plan was to have all old school genetics/mixed bagseed to breed with. I tried germinating them with the water jar/paper towel method to no avail (usual method I use because it usually gets results). So I then discussed with my partner what should we go with next? We decided on 4 strains; Yorker, rhino cookies (SSS genetics), citrus pledge and kush kush (bag seed we named because of taste etc..). Did the usual method of germinating and most of the seeds had split, had a decent tap root and overall looked pretty on point. Next they've been in the soil for about 5 days and so far we had 3 yorkers and only 1 RC, I thought to myself "what the hell is going on?" so I had a poke around and I found that 3 of the RC's and all of the CP/KK had been eaten to mush by fungus gnat worms!! Little buggers :bitingnails: Luckily I found 1 more RC under the soil and it's recovering nicely :thumb: :adore:

Cut to today and the total count of alive plants are 5; 3 Yorkers and 2 RC :cheertwo: I'll get some pictures today/tonight/whenever of the young ones but I'll say that they are looking really good, even the was-buried RC :thumb: I've got 2 more strains (SSS genetics) germinating now to account for the losses, Super Deluxe and Bubblefuck (3 seeds of each). I may or may not be trying to germinate more old school seeds (get into what they are later on) sooner or later on down the track but we'll see how many plants we end up with after these 3rd round of seeds germinate. Alright guys and gals that's enough from me. :Namaste:

I'll pull up a seat, breeding is always a great show.

Here as promised is a photo of all the youngin's. Planted the sprouted seeds and gave everything a water of organic aloe gel (harvested from our own aloe plants ofc), tap and natural spring mineral water (there a natural springs around where I live). This time I used the seedling soil so they should be popping the soil pretty quick :thumb: Cheers all.

I'll get more into individual shots later on down the track, not very interesting at this point

P.S Oh yeah the 3 biggest plants are the Yorkers and the the smaller ones are the Rhino cookies:Namaste:

Hey Bud, I'm in! Looking good!
Cheers mate :thumb: Always nice to have another person on board!

A little update on the seedlings. Everything is looking tip top and we've got poppers! 100% germination now that's more like it! :thumb: I've also added a couple shitty chinese LED's to make sure the stretching doesn't make the plants all wonky looking

Keep em green and healthy everyone!

Looking good mate :) Congrats on the 100% germination :high-five: no more using that cheap stuff to germ them hehe. I have one of them same panels here from when I first started indoor, only ever turned it on once then unplugged it and put something else in there

So far so good, cheers mate :) Yeah went to bunnings and got the good stuff, it's really easy for the plants to pop through :high-five: I've went and bought myself an aquarium set up just in-case I want to start some old seeds. Cost me under $20 for the air-pump, tubes and 2 air-stones. I've also got a theory that I want to try out with starting older seeds but I'll be doing that later...maybe  Yeah haha they are pretty shit but at the same time they have their purpose for starting seeds and also vegging :thumb:

Hey all,

I've been discussing with my partner when we should flower these as we only want small plants. Today they got their first 'night hours' and are I guess officially into flower mode :thumb: They'll be staying in there small pots till the end so they stay nice and small (well that is what our line of thinking is, small pots=small plants). After reading a post from Grizzwald on his journal I think I'll keep all males and all females for variation maximizing :) Time to see what I have :cheertwo:

Hello all :)

I'll be grabbing some pics of the little ones tonight. Me and my partner made some canna caramel slice yesterday so I'll include some pics of the finished product as well :thumb: See you all later!

Cool project! Count me in!
I have tons of old unidentified bagseeds from years ago, so I'll probably try something similar in a few months.

How are you gonna do this? Create one big orgy with all the male and female plants in the flower/breeding room? And then germinate the resulting seeds and go pheno hunting?

Cheers mate, take a seat :passitleft:
Are they sourced by yourself? Sounds cool man. How old are they and would you know what strains they would have come from? I'm always down for a chat about older seeds/genetics :)

Well so far the plan is to flower them out for a few weeks and see what I have in terms of male/female. After they have shown their sex I will then decide whether I want revert back to veg (Turning plants in mothers/fathers and then clone and breed with the clones etc) or continue flowering and yes just let them have an orgy of pollination. Me and my partner have been looking at other places to live so depending on what happens there (moving sooner or later) will also play a big part of what will be happening for sure. Once the first round of breeding is completed I will then have a discussion with my partner (and all of you) about which seeds will be popped next up.

I have some F2's of my own breeding project from a few years back I still have to get into. Plus older seeds i was able to acquire from my partner's dad (grew up in NSW smoking pot and then moved down to VIC around the 90's) so a decent variety there to play with even though these older seeds are tough to crack! Pretty much I have a whole bunch of breeding and growing I want to do but with the whole illegality of growing over here it makes it hard for pheno hunting and above novice breeding without risking serious consequences......if caught ;)
