I think its actually amazing how little water they really need, at least to survive. I've got house plants I haven't watered in weeks that still look fine. Not growing all that much, but hey,
My “haha” response was made me think of Shed and my blasé not feeding the outdoor do si dos I killed
Just made me laugh
I think when we’re growing 1 metre high plus plants in coco (actually its just me, & Co not quite on the same page yet!)
They're 16oz totally standard size. I think Bill at one point thought they were bigger - we do have some giant ones but a different grow these are 400ml - same as the hermied ones under the 1000w HPS DE in this very tent.
There was a chat somewhere else here. Me and another member were riffing on “where does the coco go?”
I posted a pic of the rootball from my first solo cup grow (in a SIP!) the coco just gets flushed out I think.
The fibres just breakdown and go out with run off leaving space for more and more roots.
So why probably we can make small pot sizes work is its a style actually closer to flood/drain ebb/flow DWC type growing.
400ml pot but 300ml of roots? How much more volume of roots do you really get in 5 gallon airpot?
So yes they need feeding twice a day. Sort of. Pot sized bets - if you ever played PLO that’s quite funny. Omaha FTW
But its 400ml a day not the 3000ml a day my 5g’s need.
I dunno.
I’m pursuing the small pot theory as is evident!
Higher pot / feed ratio but higher root to pot size ratio too.
Sorta like Rh and Temp with VPD. Similar ratios I reckon.
& Co does like the money saving though!
