Newty’s Perpetual Pantry Party & Outdoor Grow Show

Everyone's ECS is a little different too. Some people get paranoid from sativa some from indica. Especially if you're using thc in combination with your CBD it may help to up it. Only way to find out is give it a go!

need More indica in my life like a straight up bedtime oil! #onit
I did this exactly. Using CBD through the day will help in general for being more relaxed at night, but like Shed said, CBD can keep you up so I tend to not take it after about 4-5pm.

I made a beautiful oil for sleep from a cross of critical mass and Afghani (so it’s basically Afghani and skunk #1). I sleep through 6-8 hours on half a ml of that (At 6mg/ml).

Ingesting it will last a lot better than a dab - but the dab will be more immediate. Sometimes if I’m super wired and hyper vigilant can’t go to sleep... I take the oil and then vape some indica just to knock me out... then the oil releases it’s sleepy goodness slowly ...
in many years of bad sleep due to a hyper vigilant nervous system this is the only thing that consistently helps me sleep. I even wake up feeling like I have slept sometimes - but that is another story. Before using the cannabis for sleep I’d wake every day still feeling like I hadn’t slept for a week - the cannabis seems to help me get to some deeper sleep cycles. The relief is palpable - but it was the heavy indica oil that did it (realised then how awesomely it relieves pain too - so now I take a half dose .25ml during the day for that :) ).

Indica sleep oil - nighttime hot beverage ... zzzzzzzz (hopefully;). )

Dabs make me super alert no matter what it is. Love the dabs for that. For sleep, I have to almost micro dose like 1/2 j sleep. Or CBD eatibles. I had the Morta gummy’s. One is a sleeping pill 250mg cbd. It’s really really easy for me to sleep on eatibles. Vape 2nd best, j next last dab. Only prob if I do dab before noon....not much happens that day

That’s interesting. Someone else posted once in one of Sues threads that CBD oil would put them to sleep. Like Dabber said, everyone’s ECS is different!

Dosing wise I’ve seen recommendations from 5mg - >200mg per day. Lots of scope there!

The higher amounts are usually connected with treating something that needs aggressive therapy like epilepsy or cancer for example.

Oh wow!! This is all solid information and I’m writing it all down. Thanks so much all!

Ok I’m going to be consistent and start small, work my way up to whatever works for me. And I’ll need to harvest some indica leaning plants or buy some herb to infuse. I realize I have so much Sativa dominant oils. Maybe if I make this fan leaf oil of GeeGees beautiful burgundy leaves, but decarb and cook longer than normal? That should make it sleepier

Washed and drying!

Oh and GeeGee!! :D

They were 250 mg or 200 cbd or something. I’m absolutely sure they were the strongest they made  but loved them quick acting also.

Probably me! CBD on an empty stomach and I feel so tired I feel like I'm going to sleep for a week. But it's certainly person-dependent.

I don't think heat will convert THCa to CBN.

From CAT Scientific's tests:
  • Sample #1(6 Hour Collection) | THC to CBN Conversion: 0.1 mg/ml
  • Sample #2 (12 Hour Collection)| THC to CBN Conversion: 0.2 mg/ml
  • Sample #3 (18 Hour Collection)| THC to CBN Conversion: 0.3 mg/ml
  • Sample #4 (24 Hour Collection) | THC to CBN Conversion: 0.4 mg/ml
At the conclusion of our experiment, we found the rate of cannabinoid conversion is so low it’s barely noticeable. When this data is translated to real-world application, the THC-CBN conversion isn’t high enough to alter the effects of a cannabis extract.

Ok I read this and that's crazy! I always thought THC converted to CBN after an hour at 250. Cool stuff, I wont rush it out of the oven now. So maybe higher temps will convert? Or how can I get my CBN?

Also GeeGee!

Also GeeGee! :thumb: :slide:

Sounds like letting it ripen to Amber on the plant is the only way. I’m sure Sue has talked about heat doing it too, but that study suggest otherwise, and quite emphatically. Sue has also mentioned deliberate poor storage over time increases CBN. Somewhere I have all the references where this info comes from but I have trouble collating it so I can refer when I need to. Sorry... sometimes I just ask Sue to remind me where to find it again... or search her study notes thread...

:Namaste:

There is way too many for me to keep up lol

That’s why I appreciate your wisdom and many others here.

Also there is so much conflicting overwhelming and legit looking info on the web so it’s hard to know who to trust! I’m going to ask my prof if she has any good articles on cbn conversion.

I havent started a real regime yet, or tried cdb alone. But yes, for anxiety, headache, paranoia, and increased relaxation (in conjunction with thc) the CBD has become my go to. I'm off all my prescription meds
:eek:. Not that I was on a lot or on them very long usually, but it's great to know I can use a 100% natural, healthy alternative, to a pill that was verified to be no more effective than placebo (any anti depressant ever)

I guess what I'm saying is go for it! I dont think you stand to lose anything but anxiety ;)

Ive done only cbd and to me its like a strong valerian(hope this is correctly spelled). helping for exactly what you mentioned. if i dose right it feels like i am supposed to and in combination with thc its even better.

Thanks Dabbs! That’s the outcome I’m hoping for!

So far it’s just higher than normal panicky moments, heightened anxiety and I don’t want to leave the house almost a weird fear? Like I really have to talk my self up and out. I’m paying attention to all of it and am hopeful this will just be the in between business;)

Also the heightened anxiety is keeping me hyper alert and not wanting/needing much sleep:/ This has been great for my school work but I’m aware this will burn me out so I need to start sleeping better. I started having a dab at bed time last night after my studying and I crashed pretty good but I was up and alert 4 hours later. I’m hoping when I can increase my cbd dose it will help with sleep. Lately I sleep a few hours at a time with weird hours. I need More indica in my life like a straight up bedtime oil! #onit

Thanks for the encouragement!

ALOT of what you mentioned is something i feel for quite some time now. even going out can be a full day task. if i wouldnt had my wonderfull dog i would not leave the house i think :O

Like written above cbd can keep you awake and should not be taken to late at the day. i adviced my dad to take it after dinner and he seems to be doing pretty good on that. the sleepy one is with Melatonine something your body creates to get sleepy. be carefull with those combinations as melatonine can really screw up your ritm to, to bad i know that from experience... what helps me best is mornings with cbd and a light sativa... then i switch to sativa... mixing sativa and indica and late at the day i try to get the indica.

Would you be willing to try some CMOG caps for that? i have some left and maybe the gummy bears can walk them over the boarders ;) without kidding... the CMOG works for me... i got deep sleep parasomnia and no expert can help me out here... the cmog can :adore: oh taking caps works so much better then smoking the indica for me.

I think dabs hits you intense but also is worn out faster? not sure cause i havent tried them... the dabs and caps formula sounds interesting tough

In case anyone is interested, here's some info on CBN that I posted back in January in SweetSue's Oil Study Hall:

From this link at herb.co:
Unlike many other cannabinoids, CBN is not typically present on fresh cannabis flowers. In fact, even in dried and cured strains, the percentage of CBN often doesn’t reach more than one percent.
CBN is actually a breakdown product of the most famous cannabinoid, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is the primary psychoactive in the plant, and its what causes the plant’s classic “high”. As THC ages, it transforms into CBN. Typically, more CBN is found in buds that have gone stale. While that may sound unappealing, the cannabinoid has several surprising benefits. In fact, high-THC strains that contain higher levels of CBN are thought to provide a more sedative, couch-locking effect.

Growweedeasy has a page on it with this:
How to get high levels of CBN in your buds:
- Wait longer to harvest for higher levels of CBN

If you are looking for something that helps with insomnia, it's not just the indica cultivars to be looking at, or even just the amount of THC in those indicas. It's much more amber before harvest, not the 10-20% ratio we read read.

So, grow an indica with high THC, harvest when it's mostly amber, cure it poorly (warm temps in a well-lit area), decarb it, and make capsules out of those buds, and you should have a great anti-insomnia medicine.
