Well I can tell you that the serious strip-and-flip crowd waits until stretch is over before the final defoliation. That will vary from plant to plant but 3 weeks is the average. Not sure you should follow the example of people who have been practicing their techniques on many many plants though. And never take so many leaves you can see the pot from the top through the canopy. That means that photons of light are getting wasted that should be feeding the plant for photosynthesis.

Once stretch is done, I'd take the ones that are blocking the lower bud sites or blocking airflow. Leaves are all the plant has to utilize the expensive light we give it.

Thats exactly my intention
Take off the long fan leaves on the bottom, Theres pretty much one big fan leaf blocking better airflow around the stem.
Also a couple 3/4 way up blocking the newer growth sites
Like 4 or 5 leaves per plant would make a big difference

I dropped in to my local hydro store. My guy was shocked I didnt top when I defoliated. His logic was only train healthy plants. Agreed my NL looked fantastic. He asked why stunt its growth twice? I kind of agree with his logic. He said he alwaysss does both same day. Makes sense. If its healthy getter done and not worry about slowing it down again right after it starts healing. So here it is.

Im sure both ways are fine?
If it works Ill be that guy telling them to do it all at once lol
I have nothing but respect for the good folks on here. This place is a wealth on knowledge. Sometimes conflicting opinions make it tough to decide what to do. lol
If i was to lose my arms and legs, Id rather have it happen all at once.
To lose my arms, heal up then have my legs cut off seems like a longer process
IntheShed you have not steered me in the wrong direction once. You said originally "I believe its all at once!" So YUP im lookin straight atcha!
:)

IntheShed you are right again
Cfls rock lol
They definitely send light through the plant
Those are 4x 23 watt cfl 2700k
