NewB Grower Going To Need Your Help

Hey Ottawa got it right on!! Don't listen to the marketing efforts!! U will learn ur light like u learn ur plants. I would move the light to 18 inches no closet see how plants react to it. I have my 450 watt at 22 inches and it seems its the sweet spot for my light to the strain m running. And its a strain that OG knows real well!! Biggest thing is different strains need different things!! But most all strains love light and the intensity they bring. Bring it closer and ur plants will let u know!! Good job and keep it up ur doing a good job can't wait to c what u do!!!

U know what the stage ur at in growth light is not as important as root structure. Give them jus enough and when u hit veg mode then play with lights. At the moment ur at baby them get them healthy then blast them!! Again OG is someone that I always go to and he always leads me in the right direction. But in the seedling stage its important to get roots and plant structure ready for there steps in life. U got it under control and don't over think things its a weed!! Always remember we deal with a plant that can take a lot and still be vigorous. Just have to b on tip of the basics!!

No that jus means it switching from seedling to vegetative growth. Those leaves provide the beginning nutrients it needs at first. Growth is bout to pick up. Your probably gonna have to up the nutes soon. Looking good keep it up!!

Nutes jus means nutrients. Know topping is where I cut above the mode and it produces two tops or two colas and fim is where I cut or pinch bout twenty percent of top growth u get four colas or tops. Funny fim stands for
F@ck I Missed due to being discovered from tryna top and missing and the result was four top colas instead of two. The pic explains exactly how it's done. Ask any questions m here to help anyone that wants to learn. Also check my journal out I jus documented a fim. Hope I covered everything if not jus let me know.

Is there any way for me to save several posts that I could go back to when I need everything together? I can save photo but can't save these highly important articles that to me are invaluable.

Thanks so very much for the explanations! I hope in due time to understand some of what goes over my head. I'll continue to learn and learn for that's the only way to success! Right?!!! Smile

Hi gelatitan, I just happened to see your journal and noticed you mentioned you were holding off on a fan/filter. If you find yourself needing one and budget is tight, check my journal, page 7 I have a quick and dirty guide on how to build one yourself for not much dough, but if you can I would advise going with a purpose built one, they are worth the investment long-term if maximum stealth is required. Mine reduced the odor from "can be smelled everywhere in house" to "keeps the smell contained to the room my cabinet is in" and can be easily modified to exhaust straight outside if you buy a window exhaust outlet for a portable AC unit. From the outside it looks perfectly normal except in winter.

No worries bro I bypass this all the time.... "screen shot save"... . I'm have a iPhone so, (in my case) all you do is press the home and power button at the same time and waalaah... then if ur picky like me just crop the "ish" out of it.
Hope this helps .

Bro.. not bad., I'm impressed... i grew up watching macgyver (no not that old, just appreciate the concept on adapting to the circumstances). I'd do it just to see if I can to be honest but in my case I know i definitely need that smell minimized which means . . (pay up)
But I like the way you think. keep those awesome ideas coming and i try the same...

Hi Bubbi, I've often wondered the same. I think that using the "blog" option (bottom left of post) might do this, but I have never tried. Maybe someone can chime in and give us some guidance?

:hmmmm:

Ok so update time...
I finally transplanted my BD and dove in straight to 3 gal buckets with a bunch of holes drilled for better air management.
As for my nutes... well

This is Jessica Biel... (next 2 pics) her bottom leaves are yellowing and I'm confident that it has a lot to do with lighting. Looking for light/distance sweet spot.

All blue dream...

looking good indeed, nodes are stacking real close together, another few days and she'll be primed for LST if you want to go that route.

Can anyone recommend a pesticide.. I kinda wanna play it safe.
Do you currently have a specific pest problem? or are you just wanting to have something on hand for fast response?

I have a few organic solutions I use against various bugs that are either cheap or easy to make with common household items and safe for use directly on plants and buds from seed to harvest, but they only work as prevention and early intervention, they won't stop an already out of control infestation.

Just in case... 1 gnat should up earlier (before transplant) since I'm keeping a close eye on things... making sure humidity doesn't stay too high.

I thought with my set up i should rarely have pest problems... now it's like ...

So quick update... just set up a new batch of nutes... I realized I messed up as far as rhino skin... 2ml per liter not gallon . but I've adjusted...
420-magazine-mobile907394383.jpg

That's my current set up.

In may I'll add a 600w led to my already 600w grow light set up... can't wait...

Does anyone know the potential "difference" between a 3 gallon and 5 gallon pot?
