I did it a couple of times too, but only one cut, at 7 weeks- didn't do much...next time, I'll start earlier and do multiple cuts- @Krissi Carbone 's colas are proof that it does work! (if done correctly)I've done it and failed to impress in the past. My method was different. I did it only once.
Krissi's work blew me away Bode! I had to go back and give it another go! I'm having trouble seeing enough room for N Stank if it should get to growing up again. I don't have any room to go for it! Probably not her but I'm going for the rest.Highya SO,
Gorgeous ladies!!! They all are looking very nice! Very happy. Yeah, that Northern Stank is quite a looker!! Are you going to backbuild on her? Krissi's sativa's are so massive!! Hard to believe they're even possible! Hope you have a great week! Happy Smokin'
I love to go for a peek now! Thanks! Yep, we see the same thing Carcass! She opened up a new chapter in that book! Let's see how these less than all sativa plants go!Damn, Stone- What a beautiful grow you've got going!

Thanks Rob! I'm excited to get my snip on!Beautiful garden SO! Regarding back building, I’ve seen @Krissi Carbone ’s work and if memory serves, @Jon has done this also.
I’m beyond impressed with everything you’ve accomplished here. Looking forward to the light reveal…
I could have started earlier but I have noticed fatter buds where I have done my experimental snips on the Parmesan auto. I have just snipped most of my Gelato auto 2 colas as it has weeks to go still whereas the Parmesan is almost done. Looking forwardKrissi's work blew me away Bode! This is too cool! Good luck with your snips! Today's day 25 I think so 2 more weeks for me then it snippy time! 25 + 14 = 39 . 7 x5 = 35 . Maybe a week + then! Getting close! Just set my calendar!I could have started earlier but I have noticed fatter buds where I have done my experimental snips on the Parmesan auto. Great! I'm going to want some coaching! My dates were off and it's happening in a few days! TTYLOh Stone + back building is going to = the most amazing results! These two in tandem...oh man, I am looking forward to these results for sure!!! Thanks for spreading the good word Stone, Bode, Rob, Carmen and friends!
I'll be back on here today and tomorrow catching up from my week hiatus, have to see what Carmen's Gelato buds have done since I've been gone, I think she was starting her Gelato 2 soon on BBing if I'm not mistaken-excited to see her results and get her feedback.
Either way, I hope everyone gives it a little go (even if on a singular cola) to see the difference they can make. Happy growing day guys and gals! Stone, thanks for giving me another journal I need to catch up on, I get lost in the journal shuffle sometimes here and need to be redirected
Looking again at her I'm having second thoughts Bode! I think I can BackBuild some or most of her, just not directly under the tallest under the light.Highya SO,

It's been around for a while Smokes. I heard of it years ago here from Emilya Green I believe. Just the tip. I've only done it once too so this is tickling my fancy to get it done multiple times!Your plants are looking gorgeous!! , this backbuilding sounds like what we use to call topping but that was it and produced a lot more bud .. but we only did it once so not the same thing first i have heard of it but looks impressive !
Awesome. Great post. Thanks for the shot of the pollinated vs non. I get it now.MONDAY FUNDAY 24 DAY FROM FLIP UPDATE
Hi all, what a day! They stay happy and building bud. I'm shooting 4 ml of cal/mag down their tube each morning, 8ml for Northern Stank, and nothing more. Did I mention building bud? Northern Stank is going nutz! She's doing that sway in the breeze we like to see! I wish we could share a jay and take the home tour!
They love tent life under these soon to be named, best lights I've run in my tents, from @ViparSpectra ! Full bore 100% now making bud corner to corner!
I want to mention EarthBox for these self watered units too! Absolutely carefree since day one! Not a drop of water anywhere it doesn't belong! I love that! This is so close to "set it and forget it" it's crazy!
Smells are starting. Sniiiiiiff'n on otters Dream will give me the sweetest berry ish scent. Nothing heavy. The rest are bashful yet.
Here's Otters Dream
And Sky Muffin
We have Black Poisonberry still a ring o colas. She's a cool plant!
And last is Northern Stank. She's just ridiculous as my pal Boo would say! So much going on on her! The plant, not Boo, well I'm sure Boo has plenty going on but you know.
My pollen chucking appears to have been successful! This pic shows the top bud pollinated (brown crinkled pistols) and bottom not (clean white alive pistols).
There's 40 to 50 days left to flower these lovelies! I look forward to every single day!
Next thing will be Backbuilding. If you're new to it, thats where in week 5 I cut with trimmer scissors the smallest amount off the tops off the main buds, then come back in a week and do it again and maybe a third time. This makes buds fatter. It may or not increase weight, that's not been determined to me yet. The result has and I like it!
Have a great day and week!
Appreciate that Jon!Awesome. Great post. Thanks for the shot of the pollinated vs non. I get it now.
Well you presented it very clearly. Brown trichs like that sometimes confuse me. Is it the light? You know. This made the seeding thing clear and also tells me what to worry about should I see it without reason.Appreciate that Jon!
She's turning the inside of the tent all white now! I gave a couple of small buds a touch of Cherries D pollen. Here she is with her helmet on. I gave up the thought of a even canopy with her! She's an aggressive girl! How is your loner doing Mr O? Hope your weekend is epic.
Ah what a pretty plant, Otter. You done good! She's turning the inside of the tent all white now! I gave a couple of small buds a touch of Cherries D pollen. Here she is with her helmet on. I gave up the thought of a even canopy with her! She's an aggressive girl!
Thanks Carmen! I'm excited to see this one thrive here!Ah what a pretty plant, Otter. You done good!
That's good to hear Lerugged! I see some light green leaves on some colas and not others that I've been treating with some added cal/mag for a few days. No color shift yet. Generally I think she's pretty happy too. Also very sativa looking and acting. This as cool! I'm also putting a few grains of fast acting dolomite lime in each gallon of water along with the cal/mag to keep her soil sweet hopefully. She looks happy as can be. As sativa as she can be too.
Should be an interesting cross too.
