New Moon Over Guawi: A High Brix Journey

Looks like I should of done the 2nd CAT yesterday, The GDP is a bit limp but cant help
her until lights on in another 10hrs :(

Humidity is way down again Had to run 6 YES I said 6 Humidifiers to keep it at the
low of 43/45 RH ( 3 one gallon, 1 two gallon, 1 Three gal humidifiers and 1 swamp cooler set withl humidity on)

This morning Lights off I still have to have 3 running to hold 46RH

Damn Gazoo that’s a full time job in itself. I picked up a little unit at Lowe’s for $184 with the no tax event. It holds 6gallons and to fill it up it’s top full there is no lid to even take off. The 6gallons Res lasts 3 full days with the humidistat set to 65%.

My ambient RH without a Humidifer in my home this last week is 25%. When I set the humidifer to 65% it really only gets my basement to 50-60%. Usually around 55. But it won’t turn off until it runs out of water. Manufacture recommends only running 70hrs continuous.

Anyways it’s a simple unit. Cheaply made but it seems to do a good job while having a big res. I couldn’t fit it inside the tent but I prefer it outside. It also has helped raise the RH in my 1800sq ft home a lot. The grow tent is in the basement laundry room / furnace room. Down there is 55%. Main floor is 40-45%. Upstairs is 35-40%. Not bad At all. It has a replacement filter that costs $30.

Also I bought a jug of anti bacterial stuff that’s recommended. It was $9. I use 5ml per 4 litres as the bottle says.

Here is the unit the grill closest to the bottom of the unit is where u just dump the water in. Because this unit is evaporative and does not use any element that heats up and vaporizes the water I don’t need to use RO. The fan simply spins and lifts the moisture out of the resivior. I much prefer this to the previous humidifiers I ran with the heat element. It’s like a kettle, when u burn hard water it leaves a ton of residue that is a PITA to clean. It will clog and work badly if not cleaned once a month or more. It also has 3 fan speed settings. rH settings run between 25-65% in 5% intervals.

Sorry for the review of this unit but if u have so many small ones maybe I can convince you to purchase a bigger stand alone one like this and make life easier.

Can’t wait for your harvest updates, sorry to hear about the timing issues your having. I’m sure next round you will dial them in and grow to new heights.

Have a great weekend Zoo!

Thanks buddy :hugs: appreciate the review. Seems no mater what style I purchase its just not enough :hmmmm:
I do have the large room style which was good enough for lights out up-until a few days ago
a batch of Dry air is moving down from the North.

I will keep my eyes open on MY favorite shopping site CL for that brand (AirCare) does it have a model number ?
Thanks again. I am out of Humidifiers to turn on so if things get lower I will be looking again ;)

Ah it’s no problem and this is the product here I can say it will do the job for what we need. Hopefully it lasts that is the only thing I’m unsure of so far.

Hope you get it Gazoo, $30  that would be a steal!

With growing your own being legal here in canada humidifier prices are on the rise. Wish I thought too look on CL or Kijiji here *doh*

Well, good morning Gazoo. I wanna say , i feel like such an ass for not being around here when u started up!!
let us know how that huey works , if ya get it eh. Cheers bud,...enjoy your Sunday ...:passitleft:

Well there he is, I missed ya :ciao:

Appointment to pick up the Huey in a few hours :slide:

Great ....have u had an issue with low RH....what is your present night/day range?

Actually very little out of range RH readings But recently the extremes are creeping up
with the DRY cold AIR coming down from your way. Keep temps and RH @
68/72 F 45/55 RH night AND 77/80 F 45/55 RH day. Days run at the LOW the nights
are were I have been falling below for a short time before I adjust something ;)

The GDP Has gone BANANA YELLOW (water leafs) very fast, I thought NITROGEN but
a N Foliar had NO EFFECT. BUT now I think maybe its a Cal/Mag deficiency and should of
gone with my first in-stink And USED the WAY AHEAD, I can do a BRIX/WAYAHEAD foliar
tonight but hot sure I can save any of the leafs at this point they look to be past the point
of no return. Side Note the bud sites are still green and covered in trichs NO Purple or
dark petioles (all green/white color)

Have also been informed this could be just the way she does it No problem yet as I
dont think she has long to go. Sadly she does not look like she will yield like I want
but I am sure the product will be great

Yes, by the sounds of it, she is done very soon so don't fret about it bud. Remember , if ya grow her again to give her a couple early applications of the 'Way Ahead/Snake Oil. That will help a lot to delay that yellowing. Also make sure to apply the ReCharge too,...growers sometimes forget that , so. Also try and add some more EWC's in early bloom too,...scratched in to the soil with the ReCharge...then watered in.
My goal is to keep everything as 'green' as possible till the very end,...to me this signifies a healthy 'high brix plant. Cheers bud!
Oh ya, btw, your RH readings are fine.....but if you are worried they will ,get lower, then your purchase is warranted.

Yes I am expecting lower RH over the next few days and need to have something on hand ;)

Did the Recharge and EWC a week after flip
The Far-Red may be the cause, Things are on an accelerated pace and the 60 day flow estimate
looks to be a week longer than she will run.

GUAWI Is hitting on all cylinders after both CDs, still green and filling up nicely. Thinking
the FAR-RED is a good match for SATIVA not so much on INDICAs ;)

I like the two all red 90W UFO's by G8 i burn while in bloom. They seem to help bulk up colas. I must say though,..without a doubt,...my Budmaster 675 XG is the best light of all of them. My perfect , dream lighting...for my present GR , would be to have two of thier newer G.O.D. versions of mine with two Advanced(like the one i have now) ,on either side. :slide:

I have never had good luck with LED but its been years since I tried so newer tech has probably improved
things a lot ;) I do like the look of the results your getting so cant dispute it :green_heart:

BTW Just got back with the new Humidifier It is NEW and the guy tells me he has like 9 more
so if there is anyone in the Cal SF Bay Area they are normally 125.00 and up so at 30.00 its a
nice savings. Anyone around these parts just PM me and I can direct you to his sale.

Ok got the New humidifier in and ran all last night with lights on works great, I was able to
remove the 4 small units, Now running this 6 g unit and my 3.5 g unit.

Kinda wish I had taken the guy up on his offer of 50.00 FOR 2 Humidifiers I could of set it
up so they would alternate, One day this unit runs and the next I RUN the other would
give them a chance to cool and rest probably help delay breakdown that way

SIDE NOTE not a big fan of the CHEAP float / stick type set-up this unit uses, what a pain
to get it closed and set up. If the float is not set EXACTLY in the correct position and closed
without touching something it wont work, thing is when closing you cant see it

I do like the open fill port, Much easier than having to remove water container/bottles to fill and replace
just pour in the top and done

Glad you got the Huey Gazoo! And for such a good price, yes sorry I forgot to mention how cheap that float is. I am just careful when putting the top back on when I do open it up. Now I never take it off because it is hard to align. I just use a 2gal bucket to fill it up every other day.

I know it’s not the best unit but for the price you got it at and the size of the resivior I think you can’t go wrong.

Let’s just hope it lasts a year or longer !

I like the idea of running 2 alternating units to extend the life. I’m constantly running mine almost 70hrs then it’s off for a hour or two before I kick it back on.

@Duggan, do you know the cost of the 90w UFO lights ur using ?

I want to upgrade my 3x3 lighting soon or just add too it if possible.

My PS Dwarf Star is a good light but I feel the plants could use more light and I could tweak the current setup to get better corner coverage.

Other ideas would be to add small Samsung Panels to the 4 corners. Or single cobs. Just trying to source options and costs then I’ll decide.

:high-five: Cheers guys

For sure at the price its a WIN WIN, crap I paid more at "RITE AID" after tax for a 1/2 g unit.
And as a matter of fact I just got a response from the seller and will be heading back for a
second unit at 20.00 so I can alternate ;)

Great day to ya Ken! Not sure of the price off the top , but they are very reasonably priced and getting two is a very , very good idea. They give the grow area quite a lot of added 'red' light for bud growth. I really like em , just look at G8's web site or Dorm Grow, they sell em.Cheers man!:high-five:

Damn Gazoo... that is such an awesome price, even if they can be a bit finicky when you gotta take the top off. Guess I need to move to an area where its been legal for a while so I can get in on these steep discounts!
