New Moon Over Guawi: A High Brix Journey

Textbook fake plants.

Been thinking about your pot rotators and need to come up with something similar myself, if only to be able to water easier. Seen people use trash can trolleys but that seems too big. Has to be like a serving dish thing I can find...

Good morning Buddy

Orchard Supply has the PLASTIC Lazey Susans spinners in 3 sizes the smallest fits the small 1 gal pots with
water tray perfectly the largest size fits the 7 & 10 gals . Kinda expensive if you dont get them on a sale day
or find them on CL

Also playing with a idea to make a 7 GAL Dunker using a small adjustable transmission jack or maybe
a motorcycle lift jack ? it needs wheels for movement and if I design it right it should tilt back and up for lift,
move out on wheels, and then when tilt back forward should dunk down into Dunk bucket, Tilt back and up to drain
and then roll back into tent lower and remove. Hopping to have it scissor clamp just under POT Rim so it can be
Dunked and lifted back out, should work great with my Dunkable rim mount scrog nets/pots

Did a fast working idea drawing to help visualize what I was trying to describe :)
this is the working idea for using a Motorcycle lift type attachment

Good looking out, I will look for them.

I know dunking is ideal but I see too much room for human error if your dunking 10s . Only takes one slip and you to fall on a plant possibly breaking the stem.

Honestly anything bigger than a 7 is to large for my LITTLE tent, I can make two 10's work but
finding the advantage to using a 10 over a 7 is small and not worth the extra product used in MY
set-up.

I absolutely CAN see myself spilling or dropping a pot but seeing is how I only have 2 plants to deal with
I should be able to keep my attention focused :) not ready to build the DUNKER yet anyway so may
not be an issue for awhile but do want to see what happens if the DUNKs are continued over the entire grow

I like the dunking prototype but I also like the act of dunking my 1's, it's rather cathartic. I don't dunk big containers nor do I know anyone that does, 1/2 down the top and 1/2 in the saucers!

:passitleft:

Thanks, I have been curious to see what would happen if I did DUNK in FLOWER which I can do
using my RIM MOUNT SCROG POTS, actually did it ONCE and realized I'm to old to bend over and
put all that strain on my back, AFTER the Dunk was when I understood my mistake

Been doing the SLOW CYCLE Top down and up from bottom as well once in the 7's
its a plug and play watering system using a cycle timer that runs a small aquarium pump
in DRENCH Bucket. Liquid is release from 5 drip nozzles, On for 1 Min and then Off for 5 min,
takes approx 45 minutes from start to finish. Allows the liquid to WICK into the soil
completely without running through the pot and rinsing away my buddies, I have a good
idea of amount to run for a 1 cup-run off

Below is a picture from last run with the system set up watering 1 plant but its easy
to use another bucket for the second plant if needed

EDIT: Apparently this was TAKEN back when I knew how to do a FIM

You should check out floraflex, I think that might be something that interests you.

That watering system is sweet. How long you been using it?

Its kind of a work in progress but as it is now 1 and 1/2 grows been working great. Once I up-pot
I leave the Round Drip Ring Nozzle (home made) in place. I have thought about running it around and
through the POT rim so never have to mess with it again, Just plug into water line when ready :)

Something else I have been considering when I up-pot to the 7 gal finish pots, I may
use Tensiometers to Monitor the water lever in Pots, Not very easy to weigh them after
there in the larger pots so this method may make it possible for me to monitor the
loss of liquid still in pots

There was someone on these boards using these type of units which was were I found
out about how they work

Just picked one of these up 27.00 shipped

Its got a remote terminal so I wont have to go down stairs to check Temp/Humidity and
I have 24 access so don't have to worry about letting light in. Has an ENVIRONMENT ALARM
I can set to LET ME know when things get out of range :) and even has MOON PHASE display

Great we will have an idea when you will turn into a a werewolf

GUAWI Got a 1.5 oz Top Dribble to help keep roots growing at top of pot,
NOTE: Its been 7 days since Dunk.

I was planning on giving her another dunk tomorrow but will now wait an extra day.
Will be a 9 day dry cycle if she continues drying like she has been.

EDIT: Going to be forced to start doing some Guestimations for pot dry weight since
I will need to account for the weight of the plant and roots as they grow

I would think they work on same principal as the gauge you posted. Its a ceramic tip filled with water. There is an adjustment on the top to set how moist you want soil. There are some good tube videos showing how they work.

It would not be good if we did not throw a SWAG or two in the mix.

:goodjob:

"SWAG stands for Stuff We All Get, typically when attending an expo or trade show."
I must admit I needed to look it up,:nomo: have heard it used
but never really took the time to find out what it stood for :high-five:
