New Grower & It's A Guess Grow!

Updates on the Mystery Girls. They are 2 weeks old now! Two days ago they were put into 1 gallon smart pots and they were topped last night.

Remember, I got the strains mixed up during germination. There is a Girl Scout Cookie, Iced Widow, Cherry Bomb and White Castle, which I have named Eenie, Meeny, Miney and Mo.

Updates on the flower room! I moved 3 autos into the flower room because I was running out of veg space! So, in this room we have 3 autos (2 blueberry and 1 OG Kush), on the far right. And 4 Northern Lights, which are 38 days into flower. I got one bud shot, because they are camera shy today.

WillysMom, as I stated I don't know why I'm doing the rod/ holes thing. When I water I like the idea of it getting to the bottom. With the big pots I use I'm not sure a gallon of water gets all the way to the bottom. I have never seen any run out from the drain holes in the pots.

Check out our watering queen Emilya's "Proper watering..." thread, linked in my signature. You definitely want a full wet and dry cycle, right to the bottom and out. :)

No way, I heard you never bring outside plants into an indoor grow. I've got some seeds to soak as soon as some more packages arrive. :yummy:

Another journal to follow, excellent. I'll be right over! :)

Yeah, you don't wanna be moving plants that have been outside back into your clean and bugfree tent.

They all look healthy and happy, regardless of strain.

Gonna grab a back row seat on this show if nobody minds.

Hi RTK! I've read your journals and learned a lot! Thanks for watching my show... I'll be needing some help along the way! :Namaste:

Glad they could be of some help to someone, but you look like you've got things well under hand. I'll still stick around for the explosion though, so fun to watch! :)

I think my flowering Northern Lights will be ready for harvest in a few weeks! I have on my calendar that it's on World Elephant Day (which makes me happy -- ellies! For those who don't safari, that's August 12! Since I've never done this before, I know I'll need help deciding the best day. I've got my eye on those tricombs now, but I have no idea what I'm doing!! :thedoubletake:

As I watch my first girl in flower I'm thinking "I should probably be doing some research to figure out what I should be watching for." The good thing about not knowing what we're doing is the good people of this site will always come to our rescue!

:laughtwo: I know! I keep looking through the 2 magnifying glasses I have but I have no idea what I am supposed to be looking for! HA!
I just know I counted out the days on my calendar, and on August 12 it will be 50 days. Sounds about right to me!!

Peering at trichomes down a magnifying glass is great for collecting some data, but I like to think of that as looking at a handful of sand and deciding if I like the beach or not. You're seeing an incredibly tiny fraction of the overall plant though the scope.

I understand the apprehension though, I think we all go through it. You will both have lots of people willing to give their opinion, but ultimately it's for the person in the room to decide.

That said, I think on average most first timers tend towards too early rather than late, so when you think it might be time, give it another week. :)

Thanks so much. Your response put a smile on my face and I haven't even smoked because I have no smoke! I keep taking "samples" from the bottom, but it makes me cough. So I guess I'll have to hone my camera skills and at 50 days take my girls on a photo shoot and get a consensus about how much longer. And then wait a week LOL.

I emailed Gorilla tent last night and tried to get a discount for buying 2 tents. They said no! Gee, I wonder if another manufacturer would like to do business with me?
Ask Sara she is a member here She works for the mars hydro..light and tents @Mars Hydro

Thanks AngryBird.:thanks:
Any time Sara.. truth is..if I had the money, you guys would already have me as a customer.
Your prices are great and customer service too.

Check out this thread What are Trichomes? Trichome 101. Not sure what magnifier you're using now but you can get a combination 30x/60x loupe for about $5 from Amazon. You need at least 30x to get a good look at the trichomes IMO. Also remember that the number of days is actual flowering time, not just when you flip the lights (which is about a 2 week difference).
