New Grower: Excited To Learn

Hey Mr Magoo, from what I've researched the pH is important to the grow as the plants will react to the pH the roots in particular to high or low will make the roots not take certain nuits.

I’m definitely checking and adjusting ph of everything I put in the pot. I just use the GH drop kit. It’s not fancy but it works well so far.

Also I don’t use an auto feed system or anything like that. I hand water. I go by weight of the pot in my hands. I have always done 1/2 gallon feedings. The time between feedings changes depending on how fast they drink. I did do one 1 gallon feeding leading up to flipping. Doing it the way I just described....would monitoring PPM be important? In soil. I can see definitely as my knowledge of the plant grows and I start deviating from a feeding schedule, learning more about ppm at different weeks of development and adjusting nutes based on that. I can see that leading to better results than following a general schedule would offer. Is that the benefit?

If your meter shows TDS and Ph at the same time you can see how adding nutrients changes Ph. Which is why you usually Ph last. I say usually. There are some nutes, Armor Si is one that will push your Ph past 10 at full strength. You need to Ph it before its added to exisisting nutrients. If added to a nex res. Make sure its first

Ppm isnt near as critical to soil farmin. You have a dosage. Also long as your feed water doesnt have more than five or six nutrients in it you will probably be just fine. Maybe TDS test the first time you make a change to make sure its not too strong. You should be ok with it. This is a topic that may have a lot of opinions. Id listen to them all, pick and choose what will work best for you.

Litmus strips work great

Yes stltoed I have been reading a lot of research on growing and plant maintenance and nuits for growing in Coco coir from this website and others Journals are a huge help and great advice is given on there grow

Oh Lord give me the strength to stay off Amazon I keep finding more things to buy:Namaste:o_O

One of my favorite hydro shops is BGHydro.com They usually have the best prices on reputable equipment/supplies, and they arent too far away from me so shipping doesnt suck
