New City Grower 3.5 - Our Perpetual Grow - Continued

when it comes to issues like this,
Flush, make sure your ph pen is calibrated, feed at half strength until the situation resolves itself.

I think 5.6 doesn't give you enough wiggle room in terms of ph sensor calibration and ph fluctuations due to various things.
5.8 is the optimal ph for soiless and hydroponic mediums.

@ jinn :thankyou:

That is m/l what I've been doing which is why they look light green, although I thought the optimum PH for soilless is mid-5's. That could explain some of it. I'll bump the PH up a couple of tenths. My meter is calibrated.

Ill dip to 5.7 or go to 5.9 occasionally to shake things up, but I stay at 5.8 as a general rule and ive found it to be my sweet spot.
Once you go below 5.7 any fluctuations that cause ph to drop, will lock out nutrients. where as when you're at 5.7-5.9 youve got wiggleroom up and down ph wise for fluctuations that naturally occur due to concentration of feed via roots and evaporation.

Hey Bar....I experimented with Hydro for a while and had mixed results. I found good old Fox Farms Ocean Forest along with Roots Organic fertilizers yielded very solid and potent buds. I have been away for a while because I burned myself out on my grows and hotrod, but got both done today. My 54 Belair had been of the road for the last 8 months. It was nice to get her back on the road AND the transplanting done today. I had been nursing a horrible Bronchitis cough but feel really good today. Good luck with your grow:cheesygrinsmiley: :circle-of-love::cheertwo:

Your Royal Medic looks like one to be proud of, for sure! BG did a great job on the close-ups. Yum!

PITA: That's what we do here, help one another. Welcome aboard & thanxx for the compliment.

Jinn: Thanxx for chiming in. A few more helping hands for Pita would be great.

Ranger: Wow, that's a heck of a compliment. Thanxx from the both of us.

Tassie: There's no back row in cyber space, everyone has the best seat in the house. :welcome: aboard.

Hozona:
Congrats on getting your 54 Classic back on the road & happy to hear you're feeling better but take it slow. That Bronchitis is nothing to play with.

Frosty looking girls going on over here. Looks like some good head stash plants. Keepem Green my Friend.

Gday mate just dropping by to have a look, love what you did with the Afghan, and the smoke report was quite something else and reading about New York was interesting as I know where it is i just don't know anything about the place or the geography lol :)
By the way i was wondering with the coke bottle hempys how far up from the bottom do you put the drainage hole? As i was thinking of doing 1 for a bit of fun 12/12 the whole grow while my others come to fruition.
Happy Growing Mate :)

Well I had to look around a little but I found you BAR. Hope all is well with you.Glad to see you are still doing well with your ladies. Its about that time for me to get started on something for this season myself. On that note I would like to ask your friends if they would recommend any strains for me to grow outdoors in my colder shorter grow season? Sorry to jack your thread after not visiting for so long but just hoping for some new ideas.

:ciao: High everyone.

I just put 4 offset holes arounnd the top & a hole in the top itself BonZ.

I basically did the same thing but tweaked it a little. Instead of cutting the 2lt in half I used two bottles. This way the actual pot can hold more medium as 2lts are the final pots in this perpetual grow.

I also thought about the medium or the wick itself falling into the reservoir portion so I decided to use the cap.

The Sidekick was outgrowing the weed so I topped & cloned it. Even with only the one clover maturing SoulGirl's LOS (Living Organic Soil) concept seems to have an effect. The little cannabis seedling is one of, if not the healthiest seedling we have going. Before this one we always pulled up clovers.

The sidekick is a weed called lamb's quarters. Google it. :laughtwo:

Couldn't have had a better Sidekick. Thanxx Sue.

Copy & Paste...

Lamb's Quarters is an annual wild edible that from a distance, tends to always looks dusty; this is because there is a white powdery coating on the leaves. Lambs Quarters is a purifying plant and helps to restore healthy nutrients to the soil if need be. However, if there is a large patch of lamb’s quarters, be sure that the soil is relatively good and not contaminated. This unique plant tends to spread quickly in areas in which soil is contaminated in order to restore nutrients. This wild edible has an earthy, mineral rich taste; some say is close to chard. It’s difficult to describe, but if you enjoy leafy greens such as kale, collards, and spinach then chances are you will like lambs quarter.

We hit the Clover Lotto jackpot by accident.
