New aussie Auto grower, looking for some advice

Hey y'all,
I'm only new to this site and new to cannabis cultivation, so any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! I'll try and provide as much information as I can.

I'm growing outdoors and my medium will be a mix of seagreens organic soil, pearlite, whoflungdung manure, coco coir.
I've ordered 20xseeds for sacred seeds, they seem pretty reliable (anyone else used them?)
5x gorilla glue, 5x zkittlez, 5x Moby dick and 5x northern lights.
First grow is gonna be 3x gorilla 1xzkittlez and 1x Moby dick I reckon.
I've got 5x 5 gallon fabric pots on the way.
Thinking of getting the green planet nutrient kit from my local hydroshop, it includes duel fuel 1+2, massive bloom and rezin. I have no idea about nutes, I read that autos are a little more sensitive than photos, so any advice or help in the nutrient area would be amazing (particularly how many times to give nutes per week)
I've got a ph tester probe for soil on the way, I read that 6-6.8 is good? I can't get my head around EC or PPM though!
Anyways, I'm honoured to be part of the community here now and I'd like to thank anyone in advance for any advice or help you guys can give me now and during my grow!

Welcome to 420Magazine my friend :welcome:
Just think of ppm as how bid a meal they get, higher the number bigger the meal.
Typically you give water then let your pot dry then give nutrients according to your schedule then let dry again.
Then water, dry, feed , dry repeat….
Anything you need I'm always around. :passitleft:

Welcome to 420 TassieTurtleman :welcome:

I'm gonna tag along if you don't mind. I have a couple of Moby Dick freebie seeds I plan on doing for my next run and want to get a feel for what they like/ dislike. Well could be my next run depending on how my purple punch and blue sunset sherbert Clones do. Fingers crossed the clones make it.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I'm sure I'll have many questions along my journey. So should I bother getting a ppm tester @Bill284 if there is one or should I just kinda guesstimate it?
Yeah I'd be happy to have you tag along @Ramblinrose1965 I'm still learning how to navigate the site, but as soon as everything has arrived, I'll be sure to start a grow journal, are your Moby's autos or photos? I wish you the best of luck with your clone, I know they'd be photos seeing as there's no point cloning autos from what I've read 🤔
In regards to notes, I'm gonna use the feed schedule that comes with the greenplanet kit, but seeing as I'm doing autos, should I start with 1/2 doses of their recommended? Also how many times per week should I feed with nutes?
Has anyone on here ordered from sacred seeds? There an Aussie seedbank with some pretty top notch reviews, so I figure they're okay 🤔
Cheers,
Tassieturtleman

Pleased to meet ya @TassieTurtleman

No experience with them sorry.
Maby @Trala might know :ciao:
T any experience with that seed bank?
Young babies get 1/4 strength then half strength nutrients at first.
After a couple weeks they should be ready for full strength nutrients.
Personally I follow the schedule recommended by my nutrient line.
Full strength.
I explained how often to feed in my first post.
Water then let dry 2-3-4 days sometimes then feed nutrients according to the schedule then let dry again.
Then water dry feed dry water dry feed dry repeat until harvest.
You may end up feeding every week or so.
As far as a ppm tester goes it’s not absolutely necessary in soil but it’s handy.
I run coco and use mine a few times every day.
@VIVOSUN 3 in one meter has been durable and accurate for me

Thanks for the bit of extra info @Bill284
The nutrient schedule isn't very specific in the amount of times per week. So based on what you're saying by feeding nutes 2nd time, that would probably work out to be twice a week I'm think. Should I use a half dose of what this chart recommends, being that autos are a little extra sensitive and all?

Thanks for all the info Bill, sorry to double up on my questions/replies a bit, I didn't see the last bit you wrote on your first post and I'm still learning this site a bit.
You've pretty much answered all the questions I have at the moment, I'm really grateful for that! I might aswell get the ppm tester, I mean it's not like it can do any harm aye.

I follow recommendations for autos and photos.
If it’s too much you can back off a bit.
But I’ve fed every autos the exact same as photos with out any adverse affects.
I like a big healthy well fed plant.
I don’t skimp on nutrients. :Namaste:

Thanks TassieTurtleman! My Moby Dick seeds are photoperiods. Never grown an auto plant to date. I do have a couple of autos in my seed collection I got as freebies.

Yeah sweet, I'm definitely gonna use your recommendations, maybe 1/4 nute for week 1, half for 2 and some of 3, then hit them with the full strength, like you said, if I overwhelm them, I can always back off a bit.
I really love this site, how everyone just jumps in and helps a completely new member. I can't wait to get fully involved in this community and pass my future knowledge that I learn onto others also!

No worries RamblinRose! Your Moby dicks are definitely going to outgrow mine then! I used to grow photos, but since my girl and I moved to a new house/area, it's just full of people that love to call the authorities 🙄 there's a site not far from me with a washed out beach/nature reserve, no one goes near there as it's always boggy, smells pretty shocking and has a small barb wire fence all the way around. I would love to grow photos, but I need some plants that have quick turnarounds, to lessen the time they're out for someone to stumble upon!
I'll start a grow journal when everything gets here next week or so and once I read the guide on how to create one.

You'll be able to dial in your nutrients pretty easily. Leaf color is gonna be your best indicator.
Get em up & growing on a basic nutrient mix, generally somewhere around the manufacturer recommendations, then observe over a few weeks.
If you start seeing light green/spotty green, they need a bit more feed. If you see really dark greens, or burnt leaf tips, it's time to back off the feed a bit.

Best of luck, you've got a great group of cheerleaders here to help you along when needed.

I hear you Tassie. I live in a place where its still a big NO NO. I would love to grow some outdoors but I have nosy neighbors too. Looking forward to your up and coming journal. Have a great night.

Yeah it's unreal man, they should leave us alone, we ain't hurting anyone, go worry about meth labs and poppy fields lol! I won't go on about it, don't wanna start a big debate on the thread 🤣
I'll PM you a pic of my site when I can get down there next, the backyard is an absolute no go !
You too man

Cheers Preston, yeah I'm sure I'll get the hang of it pretty quickly, I used to grow photos and didn't have many problems, but at least with photos, if there was a problem I'd have time to fix it, that's why i wanna be super careful on this grow! Once I start my journal, I post pics every couple days, so I'm sure if I miss something, someone else will notice it.
Thanks man, really appreciate everyone tagging and helping me out!

Hey y'all, just an update on my thoughts.
So the first grow is going to be 4x gorilla glue auto and 1x moby dick auto.
I happen to have a 7 gallon fabric pot lying around, so I'm thinking of growing the 4 gorillas with 4 different methods!

#1 - plant in 5g pot with just GP nutes
#2 - plant in 7g pot with just GP notes
#3 - 5g pot with GP nutes and LST
#4 - 5g pot with GP nutes and TOPing or FIMing

Thinking doing these 4 different methods will give myself and others insights for future grows of the GG autos.

Anyone else got any thoughts on this?

Tassieturtleman 💚
