I just did a quick search at my lab and yes Terpinolene is the main terpene in JH.

I know exactly the smell then. I get Jack from a dispensary plug sometimes. It is the only thing he has that I like though.

Floral/herbal smell... yep there’s very much floral fragrance there that I can’t put my finger one cause it’s mixed with other notes sweet and sour

Happy Easter gang. It's seed planting time. I'm starting the Black Widow (Mr. Nice), Sour Cherries (Crockett Family Farms), Sugar Black Rose (Delicious Seeds), Destroyer(CBG) and Thai x Panama (ACE R&D). I don't have much in flower, just 3 plants so it's a small update. I jarred the Bubba Hash today and got right at 6 zips which is my best yield for that girl.

I was pleased, that's the most I've coaxed out of that cut for a 1 gallon veg. I think that one vegged for 3.5 months.

I had a bunch more I wanted to run but I need to restock some of the indica/hybrid jars. Besides I need to grow some other breeders from time to time. The Thai x Panama came highly recommended by Dubi so I had to include it. It should run well with the Destroyer.

I was looking at more seeds sales and just finally closed the browser and told myself to just go look in the fridge at all the beans waiting to be popped. That Nurse Lilly should be a winner, I liked the regular Lilly a lot so a CBD version would be interesting.

What do you think about using fresh, wet buds? I will probably decarb them in the oven and that would dry them out anyways. I think decarb would happen in the still?

When you go into the distiller, do you mix water with the ethanol you used to extract? Or is that a different reservoir in the still you have?

And the waxes get left behind right? They don't go in the oil?

I have never used fresh bud so I can't answer that. I'm sure they will dry out when you decarb in the oven. The still doesn't get hot enough for a decarb. It only gets hot enough to boil water, alcohol evaporates at 179 degrees.

No, I don't add any water to the alcohol and no water is used in the process.

Once I extract the oil from the bud, I put the mixture into the deep freezer for at least 24 hours to let the waxes separate, they will separate and sink to the bottom, they are very visible. I then strain the mixture through my 73 micron bubble bag as I'm pouring it into the distiller to catch the wax. You could use a coffee filter to strain it as well.

I know @SweetSue does fresh harvest decarbing. She probably has a thread on it as well, but I'm not certain where it is at the moment, but like Neiko said, they'll decarb in the oven just fine.

Hey @lazyfish Sue’s fresh harvest processing is in an oil double boiler and it’s for an infused oil. So she’s infusing and decarb’ing in the oil on the stovetop. So that wouldn’t help you here - it’s not CCO. When you put fresh bud in the oven it will take a while to dry before decarb and you have to dry it at pre-decarb temps of you risk over cooking it. I’d run the question by Sue - if she doesn’t know, she’ll know where to point you to ask I’m sure. But I’ve not heard of doing CCO with fresh I don’t think. (Doesn’t mean it can’t be done - I don’t think it’s the usual tho’)
