Neikodog's 1st High Brix Multi-Strain

Yes neiko I was gonna comment on the TD last update and must not have they are all looking fantastic, hey are your room temps any humidity about the same as at the beginning of your journal?

That is complicated. Short answer is no. I am still trying to dial in the ductless split. It has a dry mode that holds the humidity at about 50%, when I run this mode my humidity is perfect but the veg tent gets to cold like 66 degrees where the flower tent stays at 75-77 degrees. I like the flower temps but not the veg tent temps. I only have 600 watts in the veg tent and 1350 in the flower so I am thinking I need to add another light in the veg tent to create some more heat to get those temps up. When I run it just on AC (not in dry mode) my humidity creeps up to like 65% in the flower tent. My main concern is keeping the flower tent in check.

Hmmm......perhaps the addition of a dehumidifier is in order?

Yes....me too....thanks for the reminder Doc. I gotta move my De Humid. into place ....it's time ...levels are getting too high at about 65-70 now ,so the De Humid easily keeps it at a perfect 50%....that's where i like it ,right at 50%.Thanks and have an awesome day Gang!:high-five:

I will if I have to but I am worried about the extra heat from the dehumidifier will cause the AC to run more lowering the Veg tent temps even more. Besides who doesn't like more light?!

I guess I should clarify that statement. The dehumidifier rejects 25% more heat than the capacity of the dehumidifer (heat of compression). This heat would be rejected into the room not the veg tent causing the AC to run more and possibly lowering the humidity to levels that are too low. If I add the light, the heat stays for the most part in the veg tent and gets those temps up where I want them.

That's actually why I added the second mars900 in my little room, for the heat.....and like ya said who doesn't like more light? With that said a question my room runs about 80-81 with lights on and RH at 40%.... With that low of humidty....will the flower process just take a little longer to complete? Like a week or more? Or does this low of humidity not affect growth in flower?

I understand that cool dry nights help resin, now is this only later in flower? At night I keep room about 68-70 with about same RH via dehumidifier......thanks all.:high-five:

That RH is going to climb on you the farther we get towards summer. I think 40% is acceptable for flower but a little low for Veg. Someone else may have other thoughts but I always thought like this: 45-70% for veg and 50% and lower for flower.

Hey Nate....40% is just fine for flowering....no lower though! My Mazar did ok under those conditions....take a look over in the POTM thread. She was grown with temps between 65-70 and Rh right at 40%. She turned out real nice , i think. Cheers eh.

Lower humidity, like 40% stresses the plants a bit, especially in higher temps.

Regular spraying with DeStress should greatly help.

Ya Doc....gotcha ...my temps were low at 65-70, so the low RH at 40% worked for me with the Mazar. Now with the Desfrans, the GR is at 75-80 and the RH will be at 50%....just how they like it. Cheers eh.

Ah,.,,you just explained your funny flavors on the Mazar! Low temps mean lower metabolism and slower to form terpenes, etc.

How do you explain the flavours coming thru now then Doc....it's been about 3-1/2 weeks I think they've bin in the jars and nice flavours are there ,that weren't there two/three weeks ago.Cheers eh.

As the resin material further metabolizes and breaks down the flavors change and indeed they "come out" as you described. It would have merely happened sooner on the plant with higher temps.

I'm super stoked it all worked out well for you!

Thanks for that Doc....explains it ! And yes....it's tasting better all the time ...I wouldn't of thought.Cheers eh.

Today is day 11 of flower and Ugly Betty (Tikal 1) is a Fricken DOOOOOOOODE! :rip: Damn it! Well I guess I will get to keep 2 chocolope now. So question, what is the best way to handle the soil? It was in a 10 gallon smart pot for 11 days of flower. Should I just dump it back in with my soil that is waiting for the chocolope or do I need to amend it in some way? Have a great day everyone.

Awww neiko, what a frustration! All that time. Deep breath, better days ahead. Think of it as valuable practice.

Mornin Neiko....freekin dudes eh.... Ya you can just start using that soil again....should be just fine at that stage....the plant wouldn't have had much of a chance or time to drain it at all. Have a great day pal...cheers.

Just dump it out and put it back in the bin. Damn males!

Spot on.

Also terpene profile will change some between chop and jar based on humidity as well in drying area. Temp is critical to terpene profile and essential oils.
