Thanks farside! You read my mind I needed a refresher on using Mega Crop! My tap water is quite good, my ppm meter only goes as low as 100 ppm and when I test my water it doesn't even register on it. That's good advice on running plain water through every few weeks and definitely something I will be doing! In a buffered, soil-less, peat based mix, like Pro-Mix BX or HP, I start at 1g for seedlings and germinating seeds. From there, increase the dose 1g every 5-7 days, up to a maximum of 6-6.5g. I actually don't even bother to weigh mine. I find that every 1/8 tsp = 1g. Example, if I want 4g, I just scoop an even 1/2 tsp. Since the soil-less mix is buffered, you shouldn't have to fuss with pHing your feed solution as long as you have fairly decent tap water. By that I mean under 180 ppm and a starting pH of 8.2 or under. About every 3 weeks I'll run a couple gallons of plain tap water through the 5 gal fabric pots, followed by a gallon of feed. That real heavy watering helps rinse out any buildup of unused nutes. Other than that, my regular watering is to the point I get a little runoff, maybe 5-10%.
I did already pick up some Pro Mix Hp but will check out your recipe for future runs. Thanks again!PS - if you haven't already bought the Pro-Mix, you can use the recipe for Faux-Mix in my signature and make your own facsimile of it. Making your own soil-less mix cuts the cost of filling pots by 50-66%.
Hey buddy good to see you! Ya growing with young kids can definitely be a challenge, the hydro stuff took up way to much time and I wasn't helping out with the kiddos in the evening enough so I want things as simple as possible. I'm going to be setting up a simple watering system when the plants get bigger to make the watering less of a chore.Welcome back N! Sounds like we have similar lives lol. You've not missed much. There was a rebellion of some sort, Sauga's achieved godhood and the site changed slightly. I can't tell though as I'm on 420 mobile.
Look forward to seeing some more GZ's.
Hope you had a good holiday season buddy.
Hey Vg! Glad to be back and to be growing again! The fam is doing well kids growing up fast my youngest turns 4 in a month! I thought it was a good way to start the new year plus Mrs.N has been reminding me that we are running dangerously low on smoke so better get on with it lol.Welcome back!
Hope you and the fam are doing well.
Congrats on the sprouts. It's a great way to start the new year.
Good to see you too Sparkey! I’m doing well bro I’m sure I’ve missed a bunch on your journal gonna swing by soon and check it out!Great to see you brother, glad youre back hope you and family are well.

Thanks a lot farside will definitely look into that once I’m through the bale I just bought. The grow shop I get it from only sell the big ones so I have enough for a few runs but I’m all for saving some money!I considered buying a bag of Pro-Mix for this run I just up-canned based on the fact that rehydrating the peat is the toughest part and the hose water this time of year is cold. I ended up making my own again because 1) we caught a warm day, 2) I had all the ingredients already, and 3) I had a little help from the son. We just did a bucket brigade out to the big mixing container I bought that I keep in the garage, with hot water from the kitchen sink. Buying a surfactant would solve the rehydrating issue , but really its not that tough, and you only have to worry about it the first time. After you get the peat to over 30% humidity, it sucks up water just fine. PS - it takes 12 gallons of hot water to rehydrate 20 gallons of mix (15 gallons of peat and 5 gallons of Perlite).
Hey Mr.S!! So glad you stopped by. Your right not much has changed your still one of the funniest guys on this site!!
I've got this thing for towels lately N4, but nothing else has changed. Good to see you back!
Thanks Shed happy to see you again! Thanks for the advice on the ProMix I will definitely check the date on the bag when I get home. I’m gonna see how it goes and if things start to go wonky I’ll be hitting you up to figure out how to do a slurry test.Hey N welcome back and nice to see you growing again. The only issues I have with the ProMix HP and MC is that MC can drive up the pH of the ProMix as the ProMix gets past its use-by date (1 year from manufacture date on the bag), so that's something to watch out for.
I still use both, but I do a slurry test to see if I need to make a couple of adjustments if the plant starts to look off.
I wistfully remember the days of putting the kids to bed. Now they tuck us in and head back to get high and watch TV in the living room.

Thanks Shed! I hope your right and the newest ones make an appearance soon. After being away from growing I’m IMPATIENT!! lol. No matter how many times I go into the tent and yell at them they don’t grow any faster.N! Maybe there's lots going down below. Hope springs eternal!
I really do need to revisit some Cheese soon. This morning I’m soaking a Seedsman Cheese seed in a cup

That mutant looks odd. In my experience they don't normally amount to much, but you never know.
The others are looking great though.
Hey Gdb! I’m with you and Prof. I’ve had a few plants in the past that had weird mutations and they were mostly a waste of time, I just need any other plant to be strong enough to knock her out of her spot.My curiosity won't allow me to toss any plant that's growing. But I agree with @ProfessorFlora, the few mutants I grew out were mostly a waste of time.
