N420 Grows Barney's Farm Orange Sherbert & Special Guests

Thanks Shed I did quote your message in the post above but it didn't add it for some reason. Your right though I learn from making mistakes and if someone else can learn something to I'm more then happy to share.
Hey N, I'm that person. Have never seen anything like that before, gotta admit it would really freak me out. It's wonderful though having all these friends reassuring it will not hurt the buds and commiserating! All your plants are beautiful and the new ones so lush!

Are you going to journal the Canadian grow?

Great looking plants @N420 . The base is getting fat. Great job man.
Wish I had balls to go dwc..loI always wanted to. :passitleft:
The pic makes it look smaller lol. Give it a shot Sparkey start with one bucket it's pretty cheap to set up. I was kinda intimidated when I first started reading about it and like you I always wanted to try it. But with a bit of help from 420 mag members I got it figured and it's really not that hard.
:bravo:
Fantastic job N4! I can't believe this is your first attempt at DWC! A natural at that. :adore:
Your to kind Mr.S. Big fan of Dwc so far I already have plans for the next plant's I'm gonna run using it.
Absolutely gorgeous ....jaw hit floor when you said 1 month old.
If your stalks are stiff now, train them...dont wait.
Thank you Bvb! It sounds silly to say but you can literally watch them grow. I had heard about the growth rates with Dwc but didn't expect it to go as quickly as it has.
Ya I should get something figured out training wise I was thinking of using command hooks on the top of the net pots to attach my ties to so I can still lift the pots off to check ph and ppm.

Hey hutch nice to have you. Ya it freaked me out when it first happened and being so close to the end was kinda disheartening but my 420 fam helped me through it and it's a learning experience for me and anyone else that happens to see it.

I will be doing a journal for the Canadian comparative I just have to get the Gz harvest done to open up a space for the Black Sugar plants. Will probably get it fired up next week sometime.

I’m looking at trying hempy, with an auto watering system it should pretty simple.
That sounds like a great idea I've never tried hempy but would love to tune in once you got it up and running. I thought about adding a watering system to my promix plants something like the one Dutch uses but I already have to many projects on the go lol.

This is exactly what I'll be doing with my next auto run. I'm going to do recirculating dutch buckets using 3.5g buckets, and those round floraflex drip trays to spread out the water. Flood the buckets 2-3 times per day in veg, and probably 4 in flower.

Those plants look like they're loving life, and they sure seem to be the lettuce pheno! I'm with BVB about getting them trained soon, especially with the thick stems.

And I'm sure you've thought of this, but I wanted to mention that if you put the tents along the wall of the garage, put some insulation behind them. Those walls will be a lot colder in winter than the air in the middle of the garage.

Oh sh*t I think I got the wrong seeds this lettuce smells terrible

They are pretty dense and leafy I think your right I should do something with these sooner then later there isn't much flexibility with the branches so I will have to tread carefully.

Actually I never thought about the back wall being colder but it does make sense. I will probably do a dry run for a day or 2 once I get it set up just to see what I'm dealing with.

Plants look great N. Dialled in nicely.
Thanks alot Lew! I'm feeling quite comfortable with Dwc now they have seemed to be more stable with the feed schedule. I'm slowly bumping it up with each rez change and since they are drinking quite quickly now adding the plain water throughout the week is keeping them happy.

#QuadSquad! :D

I would let it grow au natural until you see standard 3-pointed leaves. Then it's done revegging and it's back to being a regular plant.
Thanks Shed. The shoots do have 3 pointed leaves now and are producing tiny buds.

Just not sure if I want the plant wasting energy trying to flower those little buds when I'm just going to toss them.

Oh, the one that got messed up with the lighting! I'd cut off the new stuff now that it's back in flower. Just like trimming larf to promote growth in the buds you want.

Sorry, lost track of which plant you meant.
Ya sorry my bad I kinda thought it sounded a little confusing after I posted it. I'll take the snips to them in a bit.

Hey N! You’ve got me thinking about trying dwc... nervously thinking I should say! Would you say the cost is more or less than say a drip system? Also, I have a smaller tent that’s about 5ft, would you think that is tall enough to try it? Or do you think it needs more headroom?

That's exciting Hh. I know how you feel I felt nervous before I started. Mrs. N said why would you want to do that you already know how to do it in soil lol. I've found so far it's not to hard just a slightly different way of doing things but the concepts are basically the same.

As far as cost of a drip system vs Dwc I can't fully say as I've never actually looked into a drip system but I can give you a run down of what you will need and what I paid for it. The costs I have are all based on me buying everything from my local hydro shop. The other variable is how many buckets you want to set up.

5 gallon bucket preferably black $10 each.

Air Pump $100
I went for a more expensive one it has 4 air outlets and is a well known hydro brand. I found 4 oulet one's on Amazon that were well reviewed for $40. If you only need a couple of air outlets you can get them even cheaper.

Net Pot $5 each

Air Tubing $20 for 25ft
I bought blue tubing because it is light proof. I bought it at a local pet store.

Hydroton$40
I got a big bag can't remember the exact size and in hindsight was way more then I needed. You could easily get away with a bag half the size.

Air Stones $4 each.

That's basically it if you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask.
