My Room - Perpetual LED Soil

Speaking of extractions... I will try the dry ice method a few more times... on fresh shake. I have found most of an extraction with already dry leaf through a 90 bag is mostly just leaf dust. The one time I did it with fresh shake it came out much better. Oil extraction with vodka was productive and made a nice grade oil, I will experiment with this method further.

Well I took one of the haze shrubs early... yup there were two (the beauty you have been seeing is still there) As I looked at the popcorn I really wanted to try dry ice on fresh bud but I had 1/2 a bottle of vodka left and I also wanted to try that on fresh bud... so, in the jar it went. I want a clean extraction so I just shook for a short bit ... 2 minutes then squeezed and coffee filtered. Was I surprised when it came out PURPLE? Hell Yeah!!! Cool!!! as you can see I wasted no time getting in the pot... tick tock

Way nice, we should talk about this kind of stuff... Might be a little premature, as I don't have the yields to play with this yet... But I love extracts... Solvent, sieved, etc... I've made plans to make a dry sieve tumbler, which I'd like to use for an afghan hash recipe...

These plants are amazing. Purps! Oil purps! Not honey oil! That there is more expensive than your regular hash oil ;)

I have never even heard of purple oil! :cheesygrinsmiley: Thanks for the reps. I have used a number of solvents. I will be getting everclear for oil from now on. First the oil tastes better than with harsh solvents even when processed out. Second it already has water in it so no need to add at the end. Third the smell cooking off with vodka is nice. The reason I will use everclear next time is it will evaporate faster as it has much less water... as you can see I am still experimenting. The most yeild I have had is with harsher solvents... they also tend to disolve other plant matter too. The best yeild so far is from the dry ice cooked shake... I like you am not into yeild. I will only get a tiny amount from this but it was only a couple cups of wet shake!! :cheesygrinsmiley:

U hit on it pretty well. Less complex more harsh solvents are less selective in nature. Meaning u end up with a lot of stuff u weren't looking to extract. Organic based "solvents" such as naphtha alcohol glycerine etc. Tend to be a bit more selective by nature and as a result pull less "other stuff" if u will (ignore ignorance here lol) making for a more.desirable product.
