My Room - Perpetual LED Soil

Phee phy pho phum put those mites on the run!:slide:

Please don't forget the role that temperature plays in pH and TDS/PPM. Meters that compensate for it are preferred, but I have never seen an affordable one that didn't cost at least $200. I am no expert, either, so if someone can add their wisdom, we could all learn something.
I bought a waterproof PH tester and PPM meter, no $200 to spend here, bought the best I can afford. I had to keep in mind that they are instruments not tools like I use to work on my hotrod...I took my first readings after I adjusted the PH and will track it daily to get it in line. The PPM readings were high so I added PH'd water to see if I can get them in line also..:reading420magazine:

This is why I grow in soil! I would kill many plants with hydro :cheesygrinsmiley:

LoL!

I have definitive proof of this in my own grow. Dohhh! Another new problem - Thrips now.

I wonder which meter did you get? We need more product reviews here. I saw an aquarium pH/TDS/Temperature meter on the Woot! website a few months ago; it was beautiful, with a small color LCD and looked perfect for hydro because of the temperature compensation (and auto-calibration too, I think).

Long story short, it was cheap and because of bad luck, I was unable to get one and have not seen them ever since.

Buckshot, which method of checking pH & TDS/PPM/EC do you favor?

Bummer! You need a nice meter ... I just treat and check my water with the old liquid method since I grow in soil

Your plants look amazing, I love that deep green, with a touch of purple.

May I ask how much your LEDs were?

Thank you. Yes you could but it would not matter as products, prices and vendors have changed. I might suggest contacting one of 420magazines sponsors LED Grow Lights UK from Budmaster 4G and Budzilla tell them you heard about them here.

They are short but oh so cute. They seem to be telling me, " Mom, I am trying to be a big girl for you but I know I won't be tall but I will be sweet" LOL. Yes, I do listen to my plants, call me crazy but I know you all talk and listen to yours too right? Don't lie, that's what good planters (parents) do with their kids. lol..Aloha all. Can't wait til summer.

I'm with you Buckshot. I would probly drown my plants if I went hydro..lol, I gotta stick with outdoor soil grow. I would love to try hydro and indoors just for the experience and the gain of more knowlege but I have my fears of the exspense and not knowing a damn thing about indoor lighting and all that. But who knows what the future holds. Hmmm. Keeping it Green

Crazy beautiful. When I see some of these great close-ups it makes me feel a little Jewish, because I have the urge to blurt out "Gorgeous!" in a Bronx/Yiddish voice.

:bravo:

Thanks folks, I appreciate the comments and reps. I will try to get better pics next time.

Thanks again

Hey FishCake, did you get control over the spider mites? I still find one once & awhile and am waiting for my Safer products to arrive on Wednesday; hopefully, I'll be able to get the Thrips and remaining mites with that treatment.

yeah boss I have slowed them way down. but i am still finding eggs. but the tobacco pepper juice seems to have taken a toll on those rat bastards. I also used spinosad, thats the stuff at my local nursery told me to get. they are good folks so I took them for their word:) lets hope I dont need to treat anymore till harvest
