My Room - Perpetual LED Soil

picture update

Ok so you know I take pics ... I do it to "check" the plants because I can "see" better when I zoom in on images. I have been looking close on phee for two reasons, she has hermie traits and I am afraid of bud rot. Well no bud rot but phee has turned DANG! I really like these plants and I might let her go and make seeds ... maybe.

she looks nice ...

Hey Hozona,
Thank you for your help

She has been through the ropes! You can see in the lower leaves she had a problem. I corrected and you can see the upper part came around ... then it grew till it was touching the LED panel, she has turned around again since the light has been lifted. I will keep an eye on her and keep in mind your suggestion!

Thanks
Buck, I thought something was up with my PH so again I bit another bullet at the local hydro store and got a digital ppm meter and a PH meter today! COWABUNGA!! Were the test supplies I was using wrong??? Hell yeah:loopy:They were off a whole bunch, both the liquid and the strips...they came from that unmentioned hydro retailer, NOT a 420 sponsor. The PH was way high in the aerovegger I just updated and I will check the tent tomorrow as I suspect it is WAY OFF also:loopy:Maybe this had something to do with the leaf tips...we shall see. I also got a high dollar timer for the pump in my aerovegger..
:tokin:

Two meters...we got another high tech Grower in the house...:byebye:
Hell yeah!?!?!??? I have been reading a LOT about PPM and it's relationship to PH...starting tomorrow I will be religous about my record keeping and checking of PH and PPM. I think I have a grasp on what to look for now...I will say it again, why did I wait so long to come to 420 magazine:loopy:I remember! I was in a position where I had to be more careful. Now I'm retired, let her rip!
:tokin:

say goodbye to phee she/he is in the bag :cheesygrinsmiley:

to bad it looked like it was going to be super dense! I hate hermies!

Re: picture update

Well Buck I share your pain? I had my reveg go hermie two years ago and I crossed her with the sativa next to him/her which equaled MMMF (Mingus Mtn Mutha Fucka) It's not ALL that bad, right?:tokin:

No pain ... I was prepared. I pulled her because I have hermie seeds already and want/need better medicine.

Hey gittergreen (I just said that in my head with my best Larry the cable guy accent)

Phee has nice hard buds very dense (this is a lie because LED can't do that :cheesygrinsmiley:) I did want "her" to go at least another week to really bulk up. I would rather have a hermie with dense buds than what I feared BUD ROT! Even though I call this plant Phee because of its phenotype it is a hybrid of phy and phee. While the hermie trait was a bummer the rest is nice, thick frosty lemony buds :cheesygrinsmiley:

man I got spider mites! now what? they are so far into flower and if I spray them with tobacco luice then I risk mold. CRAP!!!

I would do three things

attack them by hand with tack cloth
purchase ladybugs and let them go
get Hot Shot pest strips and put a few right in the plant

Oohh, FishCake, I feel for you! I also went through this two weeks ago and after considering my options, was able to conquered them with SNS-217. My plants had been ravaged because I didn't recognize it soon enough. I don't recall what kind of grow you have, but in my case, I took down all of the plants whose leaves had shriveled up, broke all of the dry leaves off into the compost pile and harvested the buds. I then sprayed the live plants down with SNS-217, trying to get it on the underside of the leaves where the mites are - I had to bend the plants over, turn them on their side & spray.

Wait 3-4 days and do it again. That got rid of mine. SNS-217 is primarily made of Rosemary oil and is harmless, except for a pungent odor that diminishes after a few days. Your plants can be safely dipped in an H2O2/water bath to remove last-minute chemicals, too. I dipped mine afterward and did not get any leftover aromas - I also turned all of the bud into dry-ice hash, too and the taste was as perfect as I can attest to.

Good luck!

Please don't forget the role that temperature plays in pH and TDS/PPM. Meters that compensate for it are preferred, but I have never seen an affordable one that didn't cost at least $200. I am no expert, either, so if someone can add their wisdom, we could all learn something.
