congratz to you and i both we gotz new toys coming! i originally wanted the light your getting,but now im thinking 5watt hmmm :thumb: i'll put it in my 2x3x6ft tent it has a 400watt mh/hps rig in there with fan & a fart fan for exhaust, perfect size i think for the 80x5watt and i already know how a 400 works begining to end, its got timers & everything,ready to grow just need to swap the lights- you have a plan for yours?, it seems like a bigger light but site says only slight difference for coverage,(2.5x2.5 yours 2.4x2.4 mine) ,even tho yours has twice as many led's,@3watts. this is going to be interesting, i dont know what to run, clones seedlings idk, i have seedlings ready but the strains are all new to me, i thought about doing some og kush & sour d#2 clones i have going,,or i could take a couple blue dream clones, any thoughts?

I think you would want to grow a strain you know so you can do a proper comparison of the led to your normal set up. my 2 cents:)
 
yeah thats what i was thinking FC, but i have grown the og & sour d2 but i know blue dream the best of them all, so i guess i better get clones cut soon!

I was thinking along the lines of Fish Cakes idea of a known strain. What I might do is split a plant and put one light on one side and one on the other split by black plastic and see what one works best. Same plant, less variables.

I am very impressed that you are using LED. I started using them 3years ago when they were still affordable!
Have you noticed a smaller, more robust plant with huge leaves? I first noticed a difference in the space between nodes. There was such a small amount. I liked this because I did not have room for a tall plant. I also noticed I had more hairs, and trichs per plant. My white widow was solid white! From a glance it looked as if it were dead white and dried! The tricholms were so dense it took and extra month to cure! The only thing I'll sup with is a 600 during flower and a 150 during veg.
I have always stood by the LED systems and although they have surpassed my ability to afford them, I still say they are the only way to grow.

Hmmm they were much more a couple years ago. Even then I could justify the cost through energy saving and bulb replacement cost. I do notice a wider leaf structure and better end product.
 
well im about to develop an opinion! wooo hooo !! im excited, if i like it i may sell some equipment and add to my led collection ultimatly i would want to power all my spaces with an equal or greater led, so i can suck less power,and have a cooler grow temp, buck how different is the heat output, i thought my t5 would be much cooler than the mh but not really its just not focused, but my veg tent runs hotter than the hids in flower, yeah theres aircooled refelectors but its 1200watts hid 6 inch inline vs 352watts t5 4 inch inline and ambient is hotter, theres also the factor of tent sizes 2x4x5 vs 4x4x7 but still! is me gonna be surprised?
couple yrs ago i wanted led and a cheap ufo 120watts with bad reviews was 400 bones ! ,so cost prohibitive

3 watt LED panels are not "cool" :cheesygrinsmiley: I have no idea how 5 watt panels will be. The heat generated by the LEDs will be dissipated by the onboard fans but will still heat up the space. You can't have that much light and not have heat. Right now I have a very cool basement and am able to not have to run an AC just some fans to move the air out of the respective tents and the bud room stays about 80. I know we live in drastically different environments and you have a 5 watt light so who knows :cheesygrinsmiley:?

Not doing so good with the new camera Buckshot. Still on the first chapter of the book. I move so slow with the rest of the stuff, just don't have the time. It's on my bucket list. :popcorn:
