hmmmm... I'm gonna continue watching your experiments. My wife wants me to make her a tincture as well.

So you're using vodka and the jar method to start. Then you will reduce it in the magic butter machine? Is that accurate?

I hate to bring it up, but the voice in my head won't shut up about it... :loopy:
so when the alcohol is boiled off, what gets left behind? Just the part of the vodka that tastes bad? lol

You reduce it to increase the potency?
I did observe that extracts are pretty popular at the market. I'd like to be able to provide patients options since so many can't smoke, like my wife. I'm also planning to try making some RSO as well.

Yes I am using 100 proof rot gut but many use Ever-Clear. I reduce it for several reasons. First to remove a lot of the alcohol and in doing so it

wow just got back -- coffee turned into work.

makes it stronger by reducing the liquid and activating it through heat. The heat must be kept low so as not to burn off the various chemicals I was using a double boiler method but it was hard to control the temp... with the Magic Butter Maker that problem will be solved, I can set it low and let it cook away without fear of burning off. :cheesygrinsmiley: Vodka and Ever-Clear do not have much "flavor" :cheesygrinsmiley: 100P vodka is 50% water so when you get down that far you will start to make oil the oil will congeal in the water and fall to the bottom or if you reduce all the way you will be left with pure oil.

I had 3/4s of a big bottle left and put so much trim I had to push it down :cheesygrinsmiley: I am going to strain it and do it again!!! :cheesygrinsmiley:

I guess I hadn't thought about the other 50% being just water. That makes sense.

I haven't had a chance to start my tincture or oil yet. Probably won't get to it until this weekend.

I am going to decide today. I am only going to start a couple of beans because my rooms are going to move and as the outside girls bloom the inside must dwindle to one flowering plant. I would list out the staggering assortment of beautiful beans but that might be... awkward. So the girls may have names like S Girl :cheesygrinsmiley:
 
OK Inside...

this blue moon had PM on the lower leaves as it came into the bud room thanks to SNS fungicide and the removal of a bunch of leaves she is now like this

This is the plant I have named flob. I have tried some of the popcorn of the first flob cut a while ago in the bud rot madness... very nice, but it was cut way too early
