Me too lol. I promised the girlfriend a nice dry vermin free zone for our leftover stuff from our move. Couple that with a tin shed that's falling apart and you've got a great reason to build this space. Storage, workshop, chill zone and grow room......fuck I could sell the house lol. Can't wait to see this thing completed.
Thanks Shop.....hence all the "shop", questions. I do have slight concerns about the heat or lack of in winter, so your oil filled heater idea is top of the list. That or your personal favourite; a gaggle of autos so I can keep the light on 24/7 lmao......ill have to do some trial runs for temperatures once I get to that point.Coming along nicely, friend.
Thanks Jesse....Im just as eager as everyone else to see it com0leted. I'd like a sick new light for the space too.....perfect time to add it.....not in the budget at this point though.I just built out a 5'X8' space inside an unfinished garage, and it seemed like so much work. You have an awesome project ahead of you, I'm excited to follow something that mine cowers in comparison to. Way to go Guy!
I can't wait lol. The centre social space between the two enclosed areas is 24x12, the workshop is 12x10,my grow area is 6x12, and the storage section in the far side is 6x16. I've planned it out so I can move crap from the existing shed in time to be building the closest side. All the electrical and plumbing is buried and ready underneath the shed waiting. .
Haha. I tell ya what, I'm watching your journal now. If that soil and autos work out, I may be making a switch. Thanks Shop.....hence all the "shop", questions. Sick Jesse thanks for sharing. My friend Shopgrow has suggested the oil filled heater on a timer, but that temperature controller takes it one step further. Definitely autos or a oil filled heater setup. This place is gonna be R20 walls and at least R30 floors and ceiling. I may need to A.C. in winter lol.Check this thread out. The heating/cooling controller in it is awesome and cheap. I have been using it since winter and it does really well and has a remote probe so the controller can sit outside the space.
Grow room heater and climate control system for small grows
If the link doesn't work, the entry is called "grow room heater climate control system small grows". I'm using it on a space smaller than yours, but still makes me happy. Cheers!
Oh boy....the pressures on now!Haha. I tell ya what, I'm watching your journal now. If that soil and autos work out, I may be making a switch.
A couple weeks ago, it hit me why not a thermostat. As of now if the heater makes it to hot my exhaust kicks on. With the thermostat, probably save some electricity shutting the heater down.Sick Jesse thanks for sharing. Where can I find that air cooler too. Shit looks slick. I'm digging it for sure. Hopefully not expensive. That device is less than $35 on the Bay of E.
They have a humidity one too.
My bad I thought that space heater was a 2 in 1 dealio. But it's a space heater. And the controller is what is able to control both heating and cooling. Space heater is 100 ish on Amazon. Just looked controller is 50 on Amazon. Canadian dollars that is. So cheaper in USDWhich air cooler?
Good ol crappy tire. Filled with rows of junk. But usually cheap so it's not always bad to pop in to grab a few things.Yeah the shipping and exchange sucks but if another member on here has tried it and had success, what's $150 to continue to use the space as is. I'd likely have gone to C. tire and settled for a piece of crap ....lol. That's why I love this forum.......
That's what I use too. Can't fault it, especially for the price my temps were all over the place until I got it. Now they stay within a 4°c range. I don't run an AC with it. Just have it hooked up to my air intake fan from outside, when the cooling kicks in it just draws in outside air. Works here as outside is ussually cold. Don't get a whole lot of sun (so no outdoor grows for me )That device is less than $35 on the Bay of E.

Just a small 4" inline fan with about 6 layers of the missus old tights stretched over the inlet . You could just use a cheap little carbon filter tho - that way if any air ever goes the wrong way (out the inlet if the fan is off) it still won't smell. I was having issues with the wind blowing in a certain direction over my roof caused a suction on my intake and drew air up it the wrong way if the fan was off. (The ducting effectively acts like a chimney in my situation) So I had to move my inlet pipe to the other side of my roof and its golden now. What do you guys use to draw outside air in? How do you prevent insects from using that entrance too? I'm paranoid about outside creatures getting in .....especially after Van Stanks mite nightmare. I've used passive air intake til now.
Okay perfect, and that's a great idea with the tights LOL. I hope she knowsJust a small 4" inline fan with about 6 layers of the missus old tights stretched over the inlet .
