Hey bob.. ...appreciate the drop in!Hey there Guy... just poppin in to say Eh?
I'm not Canadian but I have a cottage in cottage country and spend most of our summer up north of the border.
I got into this journal reading about your project shed .... awesome job! Very good work you put in there.... amazing really. You could build me a bunky anytime !!
I'm an organic soil grower and have been doing this for a long time so feel free to ask me any questions about it... I thought there for a while you were going soil... then hydro.... some soil some hydro... I kinda got lost there but I think you are about to figure it out!
Yeah and sorry to hear about your friend and cancer hoping you can help her heal Many well wishes and prayers.
On your soil, I have 1 thing to say; as I was reading thru your journal and you were purchasing amendments and so forth:
Go very easy with Mg (Magnesium) - don't need very much .. prolly all you need is in that Cal/Mag stuff.
Having a blast and loving the learning curve. The more I learn and moreso the why's and how's etc.......the better grower I'll become. That's the part I really love. Having the budget to build a sick light......thats dream #1 For my new space. Keep filling my head with ideas and I'll pull the trigger sooner or later lol. For now, my Intenze 800s and another no name 600 should do for flower. Well see tomorrow, hoping to have lighting up and operational in all 3 spaces tomorrow.Your new grow space is going to be awesome. It's a lot of work but a lot of fun too, right? Lucky man to have the time, skills, and funds to pull it off. .
So obviously nobody on this forum knows this, but just over 3 years ago my girlfriend and I took in a scared teenager whose sole caregiver had passed away and whose mother was suffering from drug addiction. To make a long story short, is teenager is an incredible young woman......... And an incredible soul. It's taken the better part of three years to see her come out of her shell, but look at what she produced for us for Christmas this year....... She never ceases to amaze me. Yup, this painting took her the better part of 8 months........and I'm fkng astonished. She's now received early acceptance to 2 of her 3 choices for university as she's also on her high school honour roll.... so with everything else going on in my life, our lives....... This beautiful young lady is emerging. I love her to bits.
Thanks JC....her art is a reflection of all the crap she's been through by 17. I'm astonished at the resilience of the human body and our ability to forgive. She's a really special kid. And to pull off honour roll every year.....as I said, she's a special kid lol. Things could have so easily gone in a different direction.....Wow man, that's amazing! To be this good at her age is really something. I hope she continues to work on her art, because she has so much more to show the world.
The space is coming along nicely, glad to see the progress.
All it needs are some plants in therePictures might be a bit lacking but ventilation, and all lighting went in today. I'm going with a 400W HID in my veg tent. I cut it down to fit perfectly under my cloning tent. The heat will have to be vented correctly due to this new plan, so although I have a bat wing to hold my existing bulb, I have to purchase a cool tube. That'll be in the new year. Fluorescent fixture is mounted, and although I have to vent flower and likely improve my fan to a 6", my lights are in there too. The latest freebie is turning my room pink......i traded it for my 4x8 tent that was surplus. I still have to do trials for temperature......once I have the cool tube in place.

Thanks Hedz.... the mylar is stapled on to the walls, but the insulation that is within my cavity spacings is actually roxul insulation with a reflective barrier on one side. That left the studs exposed so I went over the studs with tin tape to make sure that the insulation stayed in place and to make sure that there were no air gapps. This was a pretty huge undertaking, especially for somebody like me who has no electrical experience...... Please feel free to ask any questions you like, I think I've seen most of what could happen when building another one so let me know if you have any issues.Hi Guy - great workmanship! How did you attach the mylar to your walls? I am planning something similar in the new year. Cheers and kudos to you for your generosity and compassion.
Also, to all my friends, family and those who are just happening to follow along I wanted to take a few minutes to wish you guys all the best for the new year. 2018 is promising to be a fantastic year for myself and my family so far, I hope that this transcend's to all of you and your families and friends as well.
I love all you guys, you have all been such a huge help to me and I wouldn't be where I am today in life and in this forum if it wasn't for every single one of you....... Thank you so much!
