My new grow space

Eight plugs should be plenty. They're cheap to put in and like the old saying goes..."I'd rather be lookin at'em than lookin for'em". My only thing is amount of power. I only have one 15 amp circuit to run lights, pumps, fans, humidifiers, etc. I'm not blowing the breaker but I have to be close. I wish I either had one 20 amp circuit or even better two 15 amp circuits dedicated to that room.
This is great advice Scrog, thank you!

Sounds like you've got it under control. Are you going to wire the addition with 12ga? That'd allow you to run 20A circuit breakers if you want. Just make sure any power strips you purchase are 20A rated if you are going to load it up. I wired my whole house with 12ga cuz bigger is better, right?

Hey Rider, thanks for stopping in. Yes, the whole Space is intended to be wired with 12 ga, I actually did pick up my 20 A Breakers yesterday. Got a lot done yesterday. 1st level of insulation is installed, have to finish my wiring this evening and then the rest of it can go in to sandwich the wiring between the levels of insulation. Even got the quad and dirt bike in. This is when I realized that the workshop is more likely just gonna be storage. The grow area takes up too much space...depending on who's asking lmao.

Making sure to overlap my Corners so that there are no cold zones.

Wish I could help you there Guy, but my thing is electronics rather than electrical. But you can contact me if you ever want to set up a radio transmitter or something. The advice that the guys are giving you sounds spot-on though. You can't go wrong if you go their route.

I did notice a bit of pH speckling on one of my leaves today, obviously my pH is slightly off. I am waiting for my florasol pH 7.0 in the mail to dial it in again.....not sure why it's taking so long.

Otherwise the girls are looking pretty good!

Hey, how did you get those plants to grow upside-down?

I thought I could edit it but apparently not. You're just too quick, I changed it since then. I was hoping to get in and out before anyone noticed.....lmao. Thanks a lot!!!

Its the thought......thanks brother..So what do you think about building a COB light....if you're more into electronics? I've been researching them and some are pulling huge numbers from the right setup.

Well, I have no experience with the COBs, but from what I've seen of them they seem to be a pretty good source of light. Energy efficient as well as bright, and they would probably make an excellent project if you want to build your own custom set. I've never priced them, just because the bills are always keeping things out of reach (and this afternoon I have to bring the car in to get looked at, which I'm kind of worried about). I'd love to give it a try myself sometime, but I'm satisfied with my setup for now - I'm more of a minimalist when it comes to doing stuff like this.

For sure, I meant more so do you think that it's something that an everyday person could do? I have looked into the cob lighting, the diffusers, the heat sinks all that sort of thing..... And although I'm not electrical, with a tutorial I feel like I could really build an amazing light for my flower space.

Oh, I'm sure you could do it Guy. The only question there is do you have any experience in soldering? I ask that because not everyone can do a good job at it. I take it for granted because it was a hobby of mine when I was mot much older than 10, but I had to teach our maintenance man at work how to do it. Not that it's difficult; you just need a steady hand.

I have everything but a steady hand LMAO.

Do you have experience at soldering? I just took a quick look on YouTube and there's about fifty billion videos on how to solder. I never looked into them, but I'm sure you can find something useful.

On a different note, we now have about 13 million eggs at the hatchery, and another two or so to go. That just screams out "job security!"

The grow is looking really good. What will be the inside dimensions of it when your done?

If your looking into lighting, check out Rider509's journal. He's currently comparing a set of DIY COB's vs a set of DIY Samsung LED strips. I think the strips are going to win out in the end.

I watched a soldering video when I fixed my tv. Had to solder a few new capacitors cuz the ones the tv had were under rated or some thing like that. Video was a lady fixing her tv with a solder thing. Just followed her steps and Bing bang boom. Tv still works.

What I'm saying is , if I can do it then anyone can certainly do it. Steady hand isn't one of my finer attributes to say the least.

A solder thing?
