My new grow space

On a different note, we got some bad news on the weekend that we were hoping wouldnt come. My girlfriend's older brother has had some issues stepping back about 2 years when he started to lose his eyesight. Not to the point of being blind but to the point of it limiting his abilities. He has recently had his driver's license taken away all because of something called posterior cortical atrophy. PCA is basically the shrinking of the back of his brain. It is a direct derivative of Alzheimer's disease. Turns out, the eye surgery that he had to fix what they believed was a cornea problem was a surgery that didn't even need to be done. The PCA caused symptoms where he believed, as did his doctor that he was having degenerative cornea issues causing sight problems. When his sight problems didn't get any better, they started looking further and that's when they started to discover this neurological degenerative disease. He waited 2 weeks for the results from his MRI and although they were somewhat inconclusive, they did give him a diagnosis. Not sure how many of you are familiar with PCA but it is f'n horrible. The worst part is that you are there ....... You are mentally completely there. You see the rest of your body degenerating around you. He's scared and angry.....and I can't say that I blame him.

I have spoken with SweetSue, and she has given me some material to read as well as a pep talk to guide me through this process. My attitude, and those surrounding my brother in law is as always.....the key to his day to day attitude. I wholeheartedly will do my best to take care of my brother-in-law the best that I can. Hopefully between some CBD medications, his daily surroundings and his doctor's advice..... We can all get through this.

Needless to say when I started flushing my 2 CBDurban middle of last week, I had no idea that this was happening but the timing couldn't be better.
Guy... Sorry to hear that about your Brother in law. Your brother is lucky to have you in his corner. Thinking of you and here for you.

Told you it was just a great strain! I love it. And then there is the smell!
Can't wait for cure to really get going to bring out some of her delish.....Gorgeous buds on her too. Id definitely recommend everyone grow a Blueberry......insisted Stank and Pennywise, lol. Now I see why! Not sure on how close genetics ate between seed banks but this girl was a freebie from Canuk.
Jars are starting to fill up now. Definitely like having a selection.
Van I guess "favourite" was a bad choice of words. I kinda thought by now that I would have a clear favourite.......clearly not. The Blueberry is up there though.....amongst my hash plants lol.

Thanks Peeece brother.....hes been on my latest batch of CBDurban for 2 days......come to think of it, the camp has been silent. That's a good sign. He's got a son, who's 29 and unable to live by himself due to schizophrenia. I started him on my previous batch of CBD capsules and he's cut a pack of cigarettes a day out of his life. His "standard medications" make him SUPER compulsive and very difficult. So far the CBD seems to be helping him too. Im watching them both pretty closely.

So brother, where's the new grow room thread....huh, huh?? Lmao!!!

You might wanna get Amazon to send out a dozen yo-yo's for that Crown Royal you just put into flower. Me thinks you'll need them.
Yeahhhhh......lol. I actually bought a bunch from a guy on kijiji not too long ago. Honestly I dont even know how they work. These aren't the standard yellow jobbies.....ill get a pic up tomorrow.....theyre out back! If this bucket kills it, I might just employ a second....to start lol.

I'm starting to think I might have found 420magazine for a different reason. Yes I've learned and am still learning how to grow but a bigger reason. Time will tell but I find myself very interested in the CBD strains and their attributes as well.

I know right... I spent the past couple days cleaning up some things for a friend and my back is a bit stiff... But I am going to level the new spot out tomorrow... I am going to go with an 8 X 10 grow room... Going to run the electrical and also throwing the idea around of running water into it as well... although it's only about 10 feet from the house spigot...

But as usual @Guy you are right...I could start a grow room journal and then have all of these great minds contributing! Woah.
I'll get on it! :passitleft:

good morning mr.G, I'm glad to hear that your meds are making a positive change in your families lives which is the most important.
My sister in-law has been on oil for bout 2 months now for her Crohn's disease and she's hasn't taken oil in about 5 days due to no capsules available and yesterday she recieved them but in those 5 days she said she was having flare ups ( ulcers from Crohn's ) and they play havoc with her body.....

So big respect for what ya doing mr.G.....

Hey Guy, I just received my Blueberry F4-F5 bred by DJ Short at Old World Genetics. I got a 5 Bean freebie bred by his son JD. the new cross is XBJ16 (Spacedawg x Blueberry F4) pretty excited!
I've heard amazing things about Spacequeen. I'd love to try growing it one day. She was one of the very first strains that I came across that had the actual characteristics that I was looking for for my girlfriend's insomnia and migraines. So is XBJ16 the name of the strain?

Thanks Smeegol, I appreciate the sentiment....... My chiropractor is actually being sent to a CBD clinic by her GP. She too has Crohn's disease as well as a couple of other internal ailments. Definitely some positive changes coming. I have after-hours conversations with her because I am very interested to find out what the doctor at the CBD Clinic is telling her..... For my own reasons but also to help my chiropractor answer any questions she might have..... I find it funny that I'm answering questions for my doctor LMAO.

Also yesterday, we were at the dog park and ran into a couple of people coming in the other direction. We got talking about Bobby, my dog..... And I explained about the fact that he was on CBD oil twice a day. Her head reared right back up and she said oh my God..... So am I. Funny how this "oil" product is transcending different species. My dog can walk because of it, and she could function with her Crohn's disease on a daily basis because of it as well.
What has "the man" been hiding from us LOL.

It's truly amazing, my dads brother got bit by a spider cpl years back and just never came right, now he has really bad Parkinson's disease. He tried a capsule of rso but didn't enjoy the euphoria he felt ( never tried cannabis in his life and he is old school police captain ) last year and sadly to say not getting any better sadly the opposite.

My dad is old school same as his brother and with me wanting to grow my meds it's quite a big deal especially in South Africa and my neighbors next door and opposite the street are both cops.. But I'm sure they know I smoke as the wind blows so surely....

But how to explain about cbd oil and how it works and how it needs a dash of thc to piggy back into the bodies receptors to work and there are ways around the euphoric feeling.... My family is supportive of what I want to do but it's their peers that they are worried about and what they would think of the stigma attached to their son growing cannabis. And I could never approach my aunt and explain how the oil works as they are Afrikaans as my dad is and that is a taboo subject and I it's a respect for your elders thing as well that I was taught that certain topics are non-discuss able.......

Sorry for the carry-on mr.G

Hey man it's all good and believe me everybody feels your frustration. Not everybody in my life knows that I grow marijuana. It is a respect thing and I think it's respectable of you to think about your elders like that.

10 years ago nobody spoke about this. 10 years ago it would be interesting to find out what's the statistics are on how many people belong to this forum. With the invention of the internet, the stigma started to breakdown as information became more available. Here we are 25 years later and countries around the world have legal pot. It's only a matter of time before everybody realizes what the incredible benefits of this plant are. I just hope that everybody we love embraces marijuana the way we have. Whether it's just for a puff or two help medically ....... There's nothing more natural then something God created...... and I'm not even a religious man.

I believe Michael j.fox is somebody who has been living with Parkinson's disease for years and uses marijuana as a part of his medical regime. He's pretty quiet about it but him and Montel Williams both use medicinal marijuana for the same reason I believe.

For me favorites are hard because I like different strains for different reasons. I love my Durban Poison but I don't want it all the time. I love my ATF for when the pain is severe. I love my Blueberry for evening relaxation and chill. Depending on what I want to medicate, dictates what I want at the time. I couldn't choose a favorite. Its one of the reasons we switched to a perpetual dropping new genetics every 2-3 weeks. So we can try a shit load of strains and find our 'favorites' of various categories. I want to have social/giggly strains. I want killer KO night time meds. I want relaxing evening chill and watch a movie strain. I want some pain killing strains for different things.

I figure once I have grown out and tried 50 or so strains, I will have an idea of what I really like LOL. Maybe by then I will have a favorite....but its doubtful, more likely "Favorites".

XBJ16 is the name for now. Its Spacedawg ( Super snow dog x Romulan x C99) x Blueberry F4. Right now it’s a tester/ promo being given out as a freebie by Second Generation Genetics and Old World Genetics.

Wild out loud sounds like something I'd like to try out as it has three of the strains and it that I was really looking for. The Romulan, space queen and..... Now one of my favorites the blueberry LOL. You'll have to let us know how you like it...... sounds delicious!
