My Low Budget Medical Grow

I have a 2-4-1 fish fertilizer and I mix half a teaspoon in 16-32 ounces of water for established plants. I have a 1/2 teaspoon measuring spoon which really helps.

I picked up the pots for transplants tonight and here is the flowering plants at 49 days of 12/12 flowering.
Thc Bomb then sweet god and the unknown from left to right
daves_00461.JPG

Here is some close ups on them in that same order starting with the thc bomb showing malnutrition purple colors. Its nice looking but not sure if normal, hae to look it up:)

I did get the Herer transplanted with only this upsize which could be twice the pot size maybe
daves_02515.JPG

Sime nice roots again and the upper main ones circling up high. I never really seen this before and am thinking it could be do to misting the mulch surface daily
daves_03015.JPG

I tied down my branches and cleaned up some more leaves and little bud sites that will not make much from the look now. I felt it was Ok to let her be now to let my branches get some height because I still plan on flipping this one in 10 days now. This is how she looked after the wirk 24 hours ago

daves_03111.JPG

I did the same transplanting as the Berry Bomb with Mykos and more Garden tone on top covered by compost mulch.
This is what my mix I have been useing on these vegging girls looks like in a bag in a plastic tub sitting over or blocking bathroom floor vent and staying warm
daves_02715.JPG

The compost sits in a tub in that bag too since there still is live critters from my last sifting. I have a full to rim 5 gallon bucket in my shed outdoors cold and possibly frozen. I will use it through the winter .
daves_02810.JPG

I also got this for my molasses from the grocery store for 2.99 as food no tax.
daves_02614.JPG

I have enough mix to transplant my Blue Cheese and Purple Bud into larger pots but now my veg space is full so I will wait just a little more for them
daves_00171.JPG

The cuttings off 3 of the plants (since I have not cut the BB yet )are still standing and looking fresh her at day 3 Im thinking. It has been a long time since I have taken cuttings from a veg plant,2 grows ago or maybe 3. These little girls and some of their future clones will need a new mix to start cooking I figure so that is next project. I am trying to ammend enough to just water this winter and stop even the GO bottles used or to be be bought. I will still have to buy perlite and a few dry organic fertilizers to add to my used recycled base going on 2 years close as long as this whole journal.:cheer:
this is round 2 on my potato try in the veg side.the first ones grew weak and started rotting, they had been oversprouted long time in the cupboard, like 4-6 weeks. I found a couple of the potatos i had grown this summer with sprouts so I cut them ,feeding family good half:)and aired the cuts at least 24 hours and these sprouts look stronger. Just not enough light and one that did not sprout did rot too. They dont have enough light now and are not taking off .I plan to stock up on those cfl rigs I am side lighting in flower now to help them out.
And be prepared to help light up the flower side when things get rolling next year

Thank you for checking out my grow :byebye:

You know, closetO,
Your picture of the roots growing very thick at the very top of your soil is amazing. (To me at least,) It really demonstrates the power of mulching. I have rarely or never seen roots that thick and high up in the pot in pictures of transplants. It has to be the mulch protecting the top layer of soil and rendering it actually useful.

And soil microbes favor the same conditions as roots, dark and moist and sheltered from the elements. I can only imagine, (because I don't own a microscope) that the uppermost layer of your soil is teeming with life, where other (mulchless) containers are not so much.

Dammit, I need a microscope. I'd love to show pictures of that!

Anyway, great work, your non solo cup plants look excellent!

I understand the solo cup thing to just be a fun competitive challenge. Lol, next time rig a drip irrigation system for it that is capable of applying teas and water to the cup of soil and you'll whoop everyone!

Keep up the great growing and gl on the taters.

Oh yeah, throw that centipede (if you want) in your larger containers, free pest protection!

Hey COorganics I am glad you enjoyed the pictures:passitleft:
I was amazed as well, you know that surprised smile of pride I wore seeing it.
I agree to the powers of mulching and have not yet seen this on my plants in the closet really. I have mulched with compost before and scratched in fertilizer also but have not seen it like this. The one factor that has changed on them from my normal ways was the constant misting keeping it moist. The potato attempt started the habit instead of letting them dry out between waterings. Those microbes needing moisture I was lacking- I think to be the difference this time and I plan to keep it going for vegging and into flower as well :).

I had fast roots for me on my cuttings as I cut them at 10pm 12/1/14 and this is how they look 8 days later 10pm 12/9/14.
first Jack Herer, then Blue Cheese and Purple Bud.

daves_02918.JPG

ONly one did die so not 100% but it was a small and extra Herer cutting I couldnt have in numbers anyway. My JH was the first strain to show poking out of plug at 6 days. This is their home since cut with the lights on 24 until I saw roots Sunday and then tried to give them dark about 6-7 hours a night. Its warm in elevation here and easy for me to keep rh up.
daves_0375.JPG

I have to transplant them today to solo cups with the worry of space and timing happening.Only a second flower space would set me straight I think .aghhh but hmmm :)

I added some more food to the closet with Canadian family roots. Its another attempt with garlic again. On our honeymoon going to Canada. We First went to Toronto stopping at a seed store advertised back in 2007 in that HT mag back then.It was my first unsuccesful try at named strains . Then on the way to Niagra we planned to go through this drive through zoo and drove by a local small farmer who sold garlic on the roadside.I stopped to get some to plant later that fall in my garden which I did but weeds overgrew the next year and I only harvested some and left the rest which over the years (7) survived wild. This is what a clump looked like I just dug up to plant in my friends garden and bring to this home for the closet
daves_00173.JPG

I also planted this late fall cloves of a mail order German Porcelain bulb at my friends and of another one in the closet
daves_00462.JPG

They were covered high to fill in the potatos as they grow looking like this last night
daves_03112.JPG

and the veg space with some extra lighting now .I have been moving the untransplanted BC and PB back and forth due to space,I just adjust the cfls to them sitting on the edge and will probably flip the Berry Bomb and Jack Herer on the 14th of December. It will leave room for me to transplant and train the others including clones for a little while under the T5 only and have these cfls for corner lighting in flower.I will be jungleing it up with the size of my plants now and put a test to my skills and my 96 x 3w reflector being my third set of plants now vegged out bigger

daves_02316.JPG

I am guessing I could collect ones splitting open like that , pretty cool to germinate and flower and have seeds looking ready before harvest.
Here are both sides of the closet showing how I keep the small pot PB and BC in the flower side under the 96 x 3w reflector LED for almost the whole 12 hours on as switching over and putting back varies a little
daves_0432.JPG

and how they sit for about the last six hours of their 18on/6off light schedule
daves_00174.JPG

That little peak on my potato's and garlic growing there is all Im gonna be showing on this journal out of respect for 420 magazine since I was uploading shots of them alone in the wrong category needing to be deleted .Something like
Any photo that has any sort of cannabis within the photo, even just a leaf, is on topic. So vegetables along with cannabis is on topic. Vegetables all by themselves is off-topic and should be uploaded to the Off Topic Gallery and posted in the Off Topic Forums. I hope this helps to clarify 420 Magazine's view of on and off topic images.
This did clarify it for me :thanks:
I would like to open an off topic thread of them to show their progress along with other things.soon enough I will :peace:

I also transplanted the clones to solo cups last night too. I was real happy on this go around at 10 days from cutting them with many roots coming out of those plugs that I dusted with that Mykos stuff at this transplant. Its almost gone and I have been useing it heavy with root contact being priority. I have used similar mychohizzae products awhile am not even sure on its effect really but love the idea, I have noticed the expire date is off so it could be dead. That is something I will be checking for sure on next purchase
daves_00175.JPG

I dont want these girls to stretch alot and are now about 6 inches closer to the lights but still a foot away.I cant raise closer and hope the rooting about to take place holds them off until I can get them in a veg space. My latest thoughs would be to take out T5 and just go cfls in there so I can set up another make shift flower space . Its going to be happening sooner or later I will have out grown my current spaces with the timing and size of my plants and clones. I cant purchase another light or tent and air filtering stuff any time soon so there has to be some MaGuyver DIY to handle my issues cheaper than cheap.
plan is 2 big plants per light offset 2 weeks then adding smaller clones over remainder of 3 months starting day one flower of Jack Herer and Berry Bomb. Thats when they should be close and harvests would start coming in tune to the flowering starts . Another variable is these new strains I have not flowered yet being indicas which could possibly go faster than 10 weeks which is a good time I like to plan for my JH and 12 weeks I will plan for the Berry Bomb this time. The fem seed Blue Cheese and Purple Bud plants are showing pistils already for sure needing a transplant with about 2 weeks of training and rooting for them to go to 12/12 flowering just after Christmas 12/28/14

Im trying for it b.real I have to load my pictures from tonight after I sleep where I transplanted 2 and flipped the other 2. I will have to wait a couple months now , well a good 70 days on average for my Herer until I have a consistant supply of 4 different flavors and feels to perpetually add and chop. Right now I have 7 different strains growing because of those little ones. I really need a decent pull from them to help me out.I know this style isnt the best for it but I dont think I would of tried those seeds sitting around or be in any better position today if they were grown bigger

I transplanted that Purple Bud and the Blue Cheese into 3 gallon pots I plan to flower them in.

I didnt put on compost mulch or fertilize yet or start the planned LST,very soon tho.
daves_00267.JPG

daves_00177.JPG

I am thinking I will be flowering them in about 3 weeks maybe ,there isnt much room in my space now at flower day 1 on 12/14/14
daves_00561.JPG

I will most likely convert this space to flowering:I need to seal it up better and figure a way on filtering the air and train them low since hieght is restricted and close to maxxed now

Here is an update of some training I did tonight with Blue Cheese is 50 days since seeds broke surface
daves_00268.JPG

daves_00464.JPG

Purple Bud 5o days also with lots of budsites that will need attention to keeping best ones while thinning out some
daves_00655.JPG

daves_00746.JPG

SO new strains I have to learn how they are going to flower Here is how they look in the veg space
daves_02222.JPG

This is flower day 3 for my Jack Herer and Berry Bomb and day 63 for the solo cups
you can kinda see the stretch growth from contrast in colors and up close the BB is barely showing any pistils and the JH has a few
I plan to mist daily the pot surface and water plain tap water that sits out usually 48 hours when needed. My mix is heavy and it is hard for me to tell on wieght, I am doing just plain lately and light to keep the soil life alive, sometimes just in the drip tray of the JH to suck up.I have been keeping the self watering pot with some in the resivore also for the BB
daves_02122.JPG

Here are the 3 toppers on the solos from left to right Thc Bomb, Unknown Bag and Sweet God
daves_00948.JPG

They are getting close with my favorite 2 slowly swelling and about 50% of the pistils have turned. Here are a couple closeups of each

and this bag seed with these unusual looking buds to me,they are very compact and with those long pistils
daves_01925.JPG

daves_01343.JPG

daves_01440.JPG

Things I still need to do in the closet are scratch some fertilizer and mulch with compost the PB and BC,, clones too.
Also I thought adding more mulch to the big girls in flower either worm castings or compost maybe both
I still have to mix a batch of soil up to cook and use to grow these clones big enough to take clones again before flowering.
I have mixed feelings on how to flower the vegging plants and clones, I would really like a grow tent another Led and carbon filter with fan
Christmas is as close to here as being over with and I will give it my best to invest in those afterwards. I am figuring at least 300 bucks
Thanks for stopping by :byebye:

IMO, JH can be flipped pretty small, mine (a pheno) ((untrained)) stretched to 4X height during flowering. Another a pheno I trained heavily did not stretch as much due to the training. These plants also really want to grow straight up and not spread out much, if your looking for a bush with her, try to get her really wide in veg.

I was thinking that too CO on them liking to go tall and have had some clones before grown that way kinda lollipopped under my hps. This time I was trying to have all the buds in a level canopy to see how this LED works this time.I do have JH clones I wont veg out like this to add in perpetual like the way you said when I feel they can achieve an ounce each. That will be my upcoming grow way of smaller plants to fit in my space but to always try for 28g a piece. I actually was thinking of making fem seeds of my JH strain I have cloned on from one seed long time ago and remembered it wasnt original breeder and also a fem seed and I am sure it has lost vigor and worried about that carrying over to seeds?
I will just clone on and try to hook up with a sensi JH seed in the future,I think thats who bred it

Its been awhile for posting and I took lots of pics with my camera and our computer became out of order started turning on then shutting down.I can't afford new one but have this thinking I could fix it maybe. Anyways I can't load them from that time yet and Since my mom in law gave this tablet to me for Christmas I will be able to post new ones taken with it after I figure this way out.
Today is day 14 of flower on my JackHerer that set up nice and the Berry Bomb who really didn't preflower until flower day 11 but stretched hard and need LST to keep things in order.only plain water and both look great for me.I will add the Blue Cheese to flower tonight only in there since I think it will fit...3 big plants with a little space for some smaller plants which are 2 purple bud clones and one JH I had transplanted to 1 gal pots about a week ago. Those I will wait one more week on and squeeze them in.The JH will go single main cola untrained like COorganics had mentioned, well the PB too mostly for space reasons and to see how that strain grows. The mom plant in veg I am going to have to tame for a couple months until the JH finishes or I am able to set up another flower space sooner.
I will go do that and try posting a picture with this new toy
