My First Time Growing

Its hard to believe those girls are just old bagseed, they look amazing. Look More like something off the cover of a magizine, you have done a great job with them. I cant help but be jealous, my first grow looked more like something out of a cannabis deficiency book lol. Ill be looking fwd to seeing your girls when they do finish up:thumb: but right now im gonna go check out the soil recipe all you guys are growing these beautiful ladies in. Id like to give it a try and get away from all these bottled nutes. Good job smokeater!

Fantastic Jon! I agree on the bagseed thoughts, when I used to think bagseed I thought of gangly plants with handfuls of popcorn. Certainly nothing like that here! :)
You will be very happy with the money you save on nutrients and the easy peasy growing as a result of the soil blend. I couldn't be happier with this. Nutrients are expensive!
Between using rainwater and the soil blend, I have improved my own growing tremendously. IMO

I got to thinking and figured I'd just do a quick update of where I'm at today compared with about a month from now and I have more room to grow.
First Pic is the New York Power Diesle that popped her head up on 4/10/16 (all my plants with the exception of the ladies in flower are feminized). Here is Kate:

Then next is Donna Member (play on words because she is a clone of the Amnesia):

Next is the Delicious Critical Super Silver Haze:

Then are the last 2 in veg, On the left is the original Amnesia and on the right is the 707 Truthband:
IMG_20160414_202801.jpg
And lastly, the 3 girls in flower, All bag seed that has been heavily defoliated and confirmed as females.
The 2 on the left are the girls that got planted just before I started the journal on January 9th I believe. They have been in flower since 2/16/16 and the one on the right has been in flower only since 3/9/16:

As soon the big tent is setup (hopefully Sunday), I will move things to a higher gear and start more plants and clones going. Almost everything I need is here with the exception of more ducting,a splitter and second air filter to have a separate air filter for both sides of the big tent. Just need to save a little while to get that (shouldn't be long). Will be using just one while waiting. I doubt it will be a problem as none of my girls yet (yet is the keyword) have had much odor in veg. The smell so far has only come from the ladies in flower.

Thanks again to EVERYONE who has been helping me get our medicines growing. From PJ to the newest user who has given support, I wouldn't have what I have now without you all!! You all (that I have gotten to know) are truly good people. I can actually see a time when I can quit my narcs now. May not be permanent until I have the perpetual part figured out in timing, but I can see it happening now!

Thanks for ALL the help!!!!!! I will of course be keeping you guys up to date as each plant is grown or cloned. Especially about being able to quit certain meds.

Looks very good. You have a living family of multiple plants in a perpetual grow.

Are Donna Member and Delicious Critical Super Silver Haze in full size pots, or are they needing to be potted into larger pots at some point? I'm going to assume for the thought below that they are in their final pots.

If you plan on starting more plants and clones - two new clones plus New York Power Diesel Kate can easily move into the 3 pots of PeeJay soil currently flowering.

To expand beyond that it looks like you will need more pots and more PeeJay soil.

Space, soil, light, water - such simple requirements when you have good soil! Yet they need all 4 to thrive :)

Both of them are in 1 gallon pots still due to room, But will be transplanted into their big pots as soon as the tent is up. But when I transplanted them from their seedling cups, they went into full grown soil. That's how I've been doing it, I add the seedling soil (PJ's of course) to PJ's adult soil and just cut part of the bottom third of the roots a little when I do so (same as when I go into the big posts with the roots) to stimulate root growth into the new soil. I would be cloning and germinating already, but just have to wait until the new tent is setup since I have to depend on my helper for that and can't do it myself regardless of a time schedule, and he's been working his butt off this week.

Hey Smokey...Jimmie and you other newer guys, I've started a pollen collection process today. Thought you might like to see the plant process, so I took some pics. It's the following post for you:

Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More! - Page 217

Already saw it on your thread. Thank you Canna!! I've even blogged it for the future in case I need to see it again. +reps for taking the time to show us what pollen looks like! You know me, I love learning new stuff!:Namaste:

This is so awesome! I can't wait to see the harvest and yield that you get. You've got some truly beautiful stuff going on over there! :goodjob::bravo::high-five::welldone:

What a day......... My wife (I understand her wanting to show off the new house) decided to invite her entire family (big family, 1 cop even, All I know personally) have is 1 brother that lives far away, So I'm not used to a big family) over to our house to have a 40th B-day party for a family member. Now I'm sitting in my den/grow room (at 80 degrees in this room since the A/C's thermostat is in the front room as it should be) and the wife is telling people I'm having a bad back day and need to be in my recliner (and I ABSOLUTELY hate saying my back is bad when it isn't any more than the norm, because I think it will come back and bite me in the back some day) but I keep going out there to tell everyone Hi so I'm not being rude.

I have the door blocked (it's closed already so we can lock the dog up) so no one just walks in to talk to me and see what's growing in here.
I have to figure out a better place for my grow. I'm thinking about lowering the height on the tents so they will fit in the crawl space (It only drops to 60 degrees on the coldest nights in winter and I can deal with that with a small heater on each side of the tent if the lights don't just do it).

One good thing that's happening is the filtration system works perfectly at least and there is no odor. Talk about being paranoid though. I doubt my brother in law (the cop) would do anything if he found out, but not a fun thing to contemplate about. So, If you believe in prayer (Not a big thing on my list, but do so occasionally), send one up for me today please. If I don't cook in here & She also had our son set up some patio furniture right in front of my sliding glass door in this room and now I can't open it for cooler air or everyone would be trying to come in it - you need to understand our family..... FULL of love, which is great! but VERY inconvenient today. So either I cook or come out that I'm growing.... I choose cook. This actually proves depression is an actual physiological response to signals from the brain, because I'm not even a little depressed today and can even laugh at how ridiculous this whole thing is. :)

BTW, Can the veg lights be alternated on and off for one day to keep the heat down? (I wouldn't dream of touching the ladies in flower) Nature has stormy days, so I assume they can go without light glaring at them for 20-30 minutes every so often for 1 day. But I'll wait until I hear from someone about it before trying anything with the veg lights.

Prayers on the way Smokey!

I don't know about turning off those vegging lights like that if they are going into complete darkness. I don't think I would do it, I would be afraid the plants might get stressed or confused. If they are still getting some daylight when you turn the light off (open tent or bookcase), then it's probably not a big deal. Let's see what others say on that. Never done it.

:circle-of-love:

If you want to switch from veg lights on in the day to on in the night - then I would have the lights on for extra time rather than add extra dark hours.

If you can do this over the course of a few days, this would be less stessful than switching in one day.

If you have to switch in one day, it would probably not be a disaster.

I've never done it all at once, either.

I saw something on 420 about a lighting schedule called "gas lantern." I lost the link, otherwise I'd post it. It's a different veg schedule that has the lights go on for a few hours, then off, back on again for different frequencies. I think it totals 12 hours of light, but since it's broken up, it doesn't trigger flowering. I'm not recommending it obviously because I'm new, but wanted to put it out there because maybe someone knows something about it. That would lower your temps and the electric bill.

I was going to bring it up on my journal and hope to get some input on whether I should try it or not, but I've had issues as it is and don't want to introduce another variable. Hope that helps somewhat.

Canna I see your point and I'm sure I'm way to late with this anyhow but for future referrence... I water my girls in the tub as you know and I leave them in there for about an hour each time and I usually don't leave the lights on in the bathroom so about every other day they are in the dark for close to an hour and it doesn't seem to efect them...:circle-of-love:

It's over now, everybody just left and things are back to normal without ever touching a light. I got to see my Great Granddaughter today and that always makes me feel good (that's why I didn't answer you guys right away because they called me out there for the B-day presents and after-which I started playing with my great grand daughter). So the party was a success for my wife and her family and my grow.

Thanks to all of you with your ideas to help make it easier for me. You guys are way too good to me!

Thanks again!
Smokey

Glad thats over for you smoke, i can relate to that. I just recently moved my veg box from my comfy spare room on the our first floor that had air conditioning! Now im in a dirty dark basement, with a dirt floor. Witch i had to do a ton of work to, to get it sanitary enough for me and the girls. I was gonna tell you about the time i had a power outage here during this same grow im working on now actually. It lasted for 3 days almost im thinking. But what i did to keep my vegging plants from flowering is hook up a single 23 watt 6500k cfl to a marine battery and used it on a timer @ 18/6 to keep the plants awake enough not to trigger flower. I did the same with my flowering girls, @ 11/13 on the timer. And it didnt seem to bother them that bad, i didn see any growth during those, but they stayed on track and did not flower. I know thats not the same situation, but its something you could consider if your ever in that position again. A single bulb dont put out much heat, it would maybe set you back a day on growing vigorously. But atleast you wouldn cook and your girls wouldn get confused.

I just wanted to say High! and hope you all are having a great day. Nothing new here, my helper is asleep and it doesn't look like the big tent is going up today, But hopefully, he will work normal days this coming week and we can get it up then. I will keep everyone advised as it progresses of course. I just wish I could do more and at least get everything ready, but everything that has to be moved is heavy and would probably screw me up bad if I tried to do it myself....... Oh well, such is the life of a disabled dude :)
But everyday is one step closer to my goal and that's a great thing!! I am looking forward to having everything figured out to achieve a perpetual grow for CCO for my wife and the replacement for my meds.

BTW, I just noticed today that the 707 Truthband and the Amnesia are growing fast again since I put the Mars light my wife got me in the bottom of the bookcase. (18/6 light cycle still, never changed it). The bookcase bottom has the original Amnesia (sprouted 3/20/16) and the 707 Truthband (sprouted on 2/23/16). The growth rate isn't drastically different, but enough that I noticed it even though I check them everyday.
So here they are, the next 2 plants that will go into flower after they've grown a bit more. Once the new tent is up and I have more room, it will be so much easier! :) Enough babbling from me, here they are:
