My First Time Grow Journal: Pictures, Descriptions, Timelines

Topped both of the plants, fed with a very very small amount of GH nutrients. pH was around 6.25 of water when fed. After two days, the growth has literally exploded on the new nodes. Every morning I see new growth!

Question: is it possible to continue topping the new growth in order to gain a huge bushy plant? Or will this over stress the plants? I don't mean topping it a dozen times, but maybe two or three tops?

@Bilbobudkin420 I want to start trimming the bushier one, I just don't know which stems and where buds will appear!
Buds will appear at the tops and nodes of the plant. You can take leaves from wherever you would like my friend it wont effect the budsites. Go easy though just take the very biggest leaves for now.

Don't count me out yet guys! Plants are growing like crazy! The trimmed one is bushing out like something fierce. The smaller one was cut and I'm focusing on mainlining it. Just experimenting. So far, it is growing the two topped nodes so quickly. I thought it would be a long recovery process but these little ones are relentless! If you look back at my grow journal you will see the plant I started with. Well, it was put outside on my balcony as a failed attempt. One morning a faint, familiar skunky smell was floating around my tomato plants. Shazam! Nice crystal, dusty buds on the shedevil! I brought her back in and I have decided to try and reveg her.

On the topic of revegging:

Will the buds disappear?
She is now on an 18/6 light cycle and I'm trying to get her to bulk up a lot!

Btw. Right now I am using hydroponic nutes [GH maxigrow nutes] on my plants, can anyone recommend some awesome fert I can add to make these babies potent? They are all in veg.

Hi all! Hope some of you decided to stick around! The plants are looking great. I have decided to mainline one, and the other is just topped. I'm thinking about topping again, or maybe sending the bushier one into flower. I would really love to have some XMAS herb! Ideas?

A reveg will take awhile to go back to vegetative growth. The buds won't disappear; they tend to elongate into a longer vertical stem with multiple lateral growth sites. It may be more worth while to see a plant through flower than try to grow a larger plant.

My concerns for you with a larger plant; a light can only produce so much bud. Topping spreads that amount of bud out more. I'd hate for you to end up with a bunch of thumb sized buds that are more leaves than sensimilia.

You have good veg plants growing. Flower the one that one started so you can watch a full cycle.

I'm going to put the one that is already in flower, and the one that is really Bushy into the 12/12 cycle. I have read to give them 48 hours of darkness and to flush soil for excess salts.

@TurboBucket

I have also read the plant tends to grow another 2 feet [double] size. Looking at my plant now what do you think my potential is with my lights? I have one LED 300w pulling 130w from the plug, plus a 23w CFL underneath my leaves. Feeding GH nutes every other watering. I know it is hard to guess something like this, but I heard 0.25g for every watt? I am not going to top the bushy one any more, I feel like I have a lot of bud sites aroun 8 - 10 i counted on my little one

Stretch varies quite a bit by strain. Maturity of the plant will affect it as well. A more mature plant will stretch less. Keeping the apical node in check with the rest of the tops will help keep a flat canopy. When the nodes start to alternate on the stem rather than being pairs it's getting ready to build flowers and will stretch less. I don't bother with 48 hours of dark but I do give them a long dark period when I change the timer

This is my mainline plant. About to start LST. Going to let the top grow a bit more before removing them, then I will tie them down. Thoughts?

Here are some new pictures I have taken along with some updates

Honestly these plants have been through hell. It's been a huge learning curve for me but I can thank a few people that have provided excellent information, and a way for me to successful take my hobby to the next level! Thanks @TurboBucket @Bilbobudkin420

October 22nd I ended up finally flipping my bushier of the two plants [Kandy Kush] it's now on a 12/12 cycle along with my already flowering plant [unknown bag seed] I still have the mainlined plant that is in veg, but I only have one grow space. I have been switching out my plants constantly. 2200hrs until 0600hrs is the dark period for my vegetating mainliner. So, between the ours of 0600 and 2200hrs it is up and vegging. As for the ones in flower mode, from 1800hrs until 0600hrs they are under light. I have these hours timed perfectly so that I can easily switch before work and after work/class. I don't mind at all doing this by hand, even though this method seems time consuming, and it is, I feel like I can better inspect my plants and cater to their needs. Down side is that the light is on 24hours a day and that can lead to a quicker malfunction. I'm not worried about heat because of the air condition and fan constantly blowing on them, and my electric bill is almost unaffected by the light being on.

So, like I said I did flip the one bushy kandy kush, but I have yet to know what the sex is. Remember, its bag seed. It was claimed to be kandy kush by Faragosi farms, but I have no idea how true it is.
[Also claimed to be top grade but it contained seeds..hmmm] a blessing in disguise though, hopefully this baby can turn out being my new sugar mama. Fingers crossed.

Below I'll start a new post with each individual plant and I would love to see some input on what the heck I am doing wrong, what I'm doing right, or just to say hi! Remember, I'm trying to learn so useful, constructive criticism is really welcomed.

Sorry, I really got off on a rant. All the plants are up right now so I will post photos.

Thanks for coming along! Welcome aboard!!!

Ok guys, so here are some photos of the gang. I'm going to start the posts off with the nutrients that I have been using. I find that it works great for the plants I have [tomatoes, peppers]

I originally started all of these plants in hydroponics, but I ran into a lot of problems and decided to switch to soil. I'm using a MARS UFO LED light w COB. It pulls around 130w from the wall, and I am supplementing with the CFLs I originally used when I was doing hydro.

Any suggestions on nutes? Since space is an issue, I top and keep them short, so I want the fattest nugs possible [who doesn't?]

Here is the bushy baby I have.

Strain: Kandy Kush.
This plant is in flower. 12/12

I took some pictures of the bud sites. It's looking like a male to me. Any input?

No worries if it is male. I have a female he can mate with! I want custom seeds!

STRAIN: No idea, but the leaves contain hints of purple and it smells of skunk! The purple could be from early stress, she is retired now.

Last, but certainly not least is the original plant I had. This baby has been through some shiznit, equivalent to that of a tunnel rat in Viet f'n nam! She split because I topped her way too early. This plant was originally my test subject and was put outside to make room for the other two kandy kushes.

Like a bad boyfriend I neglected this beautiful specimen and took in two other plants. Now, I have her back and she has accepted me for who I am.

Anyways, beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder when it comes to this baby. Her nugs are getting fatter and fatter every day, and when you put your nosey real close she gives off scents of lemon and citrus with a finish of skunk. The smell is AHMAYZING. These two little nugs on this plant are responsible with providing me hours of skunky, fruity smell in my house while I lounge around and play video games.
