It's still growing. i can see new growth where I FIM'd it, it's just really droopy. I'll post a pictureIve had a thought. What are your temperatures saying?
Have you got a thermometer in there with a highest and lowest temp function? It stays around 72 73 in the grow area. I also have a fan circulating the air as well.
Well for one thing in sure the rots aint enjoying being put on a countertop and things like that. Could be root shock if you've been man handling them like that lol.Sorry. Just broke my damn camera at work
I'm usually not a bad parent, I was just having a mini melt down due to the fact that right when I was about to snap the photo, I noticed it was blurry. I look a my lens and it was crushed. Anyways. Now that you bring up oxygen lack that could be it. It had 2 air stones in the gallon reservoir, and when I topped it on Sunday [4 days] ago I removed one of the two air stones and placed it in the hydro setup next to it...Well for one thing in sure the rots aint enjoying being put on a countertop and things like that. From the look of the leaves though in gonna say not enough oxygen to the roots. Remember to be patient though plants can sometimes take a while to recover from things. How long was it since you FIMmed?
Any suggestions? I've only FIM'd it. Like I said I also removed one of the two air stones as well, but I have placed it back in today. And here I was assuming you hadn't changed anything since you finally had it working.
I clean it once a week with alcohol and peroxide, same with the tubing and air stones. The leaves bend and flex, but feel dry. The new LED I just bought is about 10-12 inches from the very top of the plant. Could this be too close? I don't feel any heat on the back of my hand when I place it near the top.I want to say yes. It's a small container it doesn't need a ton. But dirty air, cheap stones, yucky water...time, they all contribute to reduced flow rates. Bilbo may be right, she may be a little touchy and still pouting from the haircut. What do the leaves feel like?
The light is now about 2 feet away from the top. I run on a 16/8 cycle, is the eight hours of darkness good for rest? Or should I leave the light on 24hours?I know you take good care of your setup it will hold up to the ravages of time better than most. Just pointing out some of the obstacles out there.
12" is pretty close. It doesn't seem to be the end of the world for her though. You could move it away 6 to 12 inches and see if she recovers faster.
Thank you so much for you patience and help!16/8 is good. I like letting the plants have a chance to rest.
I took the setup out and flushed both air hoses inside and out with peroxide and alcohol. I then shot the solution through each air bubble. After that I used the peroxide and alcohol to clean the inside of the bucket. I then made a new batch of the nute solution in a gallon container, I actually used less than what I usually do per gallon. Added a capful of hydrogen peroxide and tested pH to 5.5.I can't see any root rot in that pic. They do seem to have picked up a bit of a color though usually from the nutrient solution. Rot is much less uniform, it's typically slimy and stinks depending on which form it is.
The h2o2 should be killing any thing nasty in there which should already have a really hard time surviving with 2 air stones in a gal container. Did you bump your pH down?
